The shock absorber basically dampens the impact energy caused by an obstacle or a pithole. Shock absorber are used in a number of transportation vehicles including aircrafts to provide maximum comfort to the passengers. As the shock absorber are subjected to a number of cyclic loads spontaneous maintenance is required for proper working of the shock damper itself. Improper working of the shock damper due to any reason can prove to be quite fatal for the complete machinery. For proper working of the shock absorber a variable known as damping coefficient is determined. For the determination of the damping coefficient a mechanical test rig is designed and manufactured to perform the analysis on the relative shock damper. The mechanical test rig is used to provide a linear motion to the shock damper to conduct further analysis. The mechanical test rig will be further connected to a number of electronic circuits which is basically summed up as a data acquisition system. The data acquisition system will control the mechanical test rig and after several inputs by the user the damping coefficient will be deduced at the end by general mathematical equations. The values obtained from the analysis will be used in the equation for results. The basic need to design such a test rig is to compare the known and current values of the damping coefficient for the shock to be tested.Item DESIGN AND DEVELPOMENT OF AN AIR DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR COCKPIT INSTRUMENTS (ASI, VVI)(UMT, Lahore, 2020) Muhammad Rayyan Khan, Muhammad Yousef and Nasir JavedPitot Static system is a control system which is a must have for every flight. Misplacement of a tool in aircraft maintenance industry seem a minor occurrence but it is an expensive one. That causes the maintenance activities to be delayed for days and week of personnel search until the misplaced tool can be found. Because a lost object of any kind in or around the aircraft can cause unrecoverable damage due to Foreign Object Damage (FOD). We propose a tracking system that is low energy and highly efficient in various conditions. This Report focuses on the introduction of tracking system that uses Bluetooth low-energy (BLE) module and data transfer by using embedded system approach. Tracking system provides two features, monitoring and tracking. The system essentially based on two components Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Micro controller. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) send a signal which received by the micro-controller. Micro-controller is programmed through Arduino source code and calculate the distance from the received signal by Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). The calculated results are transferred to the database by micro-controller via internet source. This system provides incessant monitoring and tracking for tools in aircraft maintenanceItem THE IMPACT OF GREEN OPERATIONS IN THE AIRLINE CABIN WASTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM(UMT, Lahore, 2020) FARHAN TARIQ, HAMAD RASHID, ABUBAKAR ZULFIQAR and SHEIKH SAAD REHMAN SAEEDThe importance of green approach can be recognised by looking onto the environmental issue caused by Air travel. Air-travel not only provides connectivity but also provides accessibility, comfort, reliability and catalytic influence; in terms of tourism. Smaller airports are often not financially viable when made for the sole purpose of tourism and highly susceptible to the competition posed by ground transport means. Planning decisions for air-transport, such as making a new Greenfield or brownfield airport or extension of runways takes years and years of planning. Airports for their growth rely on the economic productivity of an area, tourism potential, industrial activity etc. But often economic developments are considered to be dependent on air travel alone often this leads to infrastructural white elephants. Airports like other industries and businesses and must run with a clear purpose of inclusive growth. With the collective approach from all stakeholders, creating distinction through branding and estimating target segment, smaller airports could be made a viable profit-earning entity instead of a liability. The airport can increase connectivity in some key areas where it is most needed, such as route planning, baggage handling, security checks, boarding chairs, and the transition of passengers with disabilities from the airport to the carrier. As the population of travelers grows, so does the number of passengers with disabilities. A baggage labelling and scanning system is extremely important for people with disabilities, who require extra attention to their luggage as well as any medical equipment they may be carrying while travelling. The controlled access system should be more incentivize than it is now, so that persons with disabilities may feel as comfortable as possible when checking in. There should be special attention and a different approach to inspect those individuals so that normal passengers do not experience delays or discomfort while flying
