To produce plant-based meat replacements, raw ingredients containing various constituents e.g., combinations of diverse raw materials that are protein enriched such as mixtures of soy protein isolate, wheat gluten, chickpea proteins and pea proteins are frequently used.

    The vegetables derived from the Brassica family are quite popular and are consumed around the year as fresh or cooked elements in a variety of salads, or as frozen or uncooked. There are notable qualitative differences in the phytochemical profiles of Brassica species and cultivars, indicating that these crops have different health promoting attributes. High iron content and folic acid give more importance to saag vegetables which make them highly nutritive and provide essential nutrients for manufacturing food supplements.

    The water used for formulating ice should be of drinkable quality because the ice is used in large amounts as a refreshment in various types of beverages, particularly in the spring and summer seasons, and is the basic material in the processing of ice slush. Ice is also used to keep foods cool, such as compote, chopped fruits, and fruit salads. In Pakistan, the ice is formulated using both natural and distilled water, however, the quality of the water is highly objectionable and needs to be examined thoroughly for safety aspects.

Therefore, this study aimed to prepare functional muffins enriched with pomegranate peel as a prebiotic, B. bifidum as a probiotic, and their combination as synbiotics.

This study was designed to determine total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), anti-oxidant activity as well as alpha-amylase and alpha glucosidase inhibitory activity of Astragalus membranaceus roots, Momordica charantia, Azadirachta indica and Abelmoschus esculentus leaf extracts.

Uncontrolled type 2 diabetes can lead to serious health issues such as cardiovascular diseases, kidney problems, neuropathy, and blindness. The main objective of this research was to develop an anti-diabetic drink which can be consumed easily by diabetic patients and reduce its complications along with maintaining the glucose levels in the blood.

    Globally, the prevalence of diabetes has increased, considering different lifestyles, changes in physical activity, and dietary patterns. Its rate has also increased in Pakistan. Several factors are contributing to this prevalence, including an increase in obesity and increased consumption of local carb-based foods. Modifying local cuisine and using herbs can be proven effective strategies to minimize the risk of diabetes.

This study determined the relationship between knowledge and beliefs regarding osteoporosis and dietary calcium intake among Pakistani female graduates aged 18 years.

The primary objective of the present study was to investigate the potential protective impact of jamun seeds on metabolic parameters such as anthropometric measurements, blood glucose, blood pressure, and lipid profile of overweight individuals. In this clinical trial, 16 overweight individuals were divided into two distinct groups.

    ASSESSMENT OF NUTRITIONAL STATUS AMONG SCHOOL-GOING CHILDREN THROUGH THEIR DIETARY HABITS

    The present study was conducted to assess the nutritional status of school-going children through an exploration of their dietary habits. Emphasizing the significance of the first 1,000 days of life in shaping long-term health outcomes, particularly in combating non-communicable diseases and childhood overweight, the research underscores the principles of exclusive breastfeeding and the introduction of complementary meals without added salt or sugar. Focused on children aged 10 to 13 years in primary and high schools in Lahore, the study employed a cross-sectional approach with 200 randomly selected participants. Utilizing a self-structured questionnaire and chi-square test analysis, significant correlations between children's dietary habits and age were revealed, indicating a dynamic evolution of preferences over time.

However, reducing the fat content in mozzarella cheese can negatively affect its quality and sensory properties.
