Airlines are the backbone of any aviation sector with in the industry. One of the most important thing is that aviation has a high volume of investment business but the margin of profitability is kind of very low. Due to the high volume of investment in airlines business, low margin of profit can be compensated.Item Feasibility for implementing the concept of airport collaborative decision making at Allama Iqbal international airport, Lahore-Pakistan(University of Management and Technology Lahore, 2016) Aslam, Rana HaroonCollaborative Decision Making (CDM) has grouped in three unmistakable initiatives; the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the airport administrator, and the flight operators. These groups speaks to various constituents as they take a stab at an effective, efficient, auspicious operation and work to understand issues identified with aircraft ground operations at airports. The joint effort of these endeavors is discussed in this anticipate. Preceding the foundation of CDM in the mid-1990s, these administration bunches worked in what today is portrayed as stovepipes. Trade of real-time, day-of-operations data between the groups was restrictedItem New methods to improve ground handling operatios in Pakistan(University of Management and Technology Lahore, 2016) Kamran, Noman; Ibrar Qamar, MuhammadAviation industry is growing day by day in Pakistan. Entrepreneurship also give boost to the economy of country. Entrepreneurship is a process of starting a new business. It typically begins with small business, initially they plan a product then they hire people. Those who creates these businesses are called Entrepreneurs. Those who start this business they also take risk weather they will make profit or not. High risk is involved in starting a new business first you have to promote it. You have to make good business decision to avoid risk.Item Impact of aviation automation(University of Management and Technology Lahore, 2017) Saad PervezAir Transportation is surely the most popular business of today. People are now more sophisticated to travel rather than flying for leisure travel due to some uncommon incident happen in the past. But as the automation system has introduced by time, air travel demand is increasing more and more yearly. The machines used in aviation industry has upgraded to more automatic controls. Such automation system is introduced to reduce workloads on aviation personnel so that they can monitor over other important tasks as well. The systems are also much accurate that work on human reasoning process such as scanner machines at airport security. Now our concern is how much impact is there by introducing such automation system and how much human training is required to perform in automation environment. To upgrade human capability to stay ahead of technology is one of the reasons to operate safely in that environment. As new technologies introduced in the modern aviation industry, it design the overall industry into entirely new shape by improving performance, reducing human error and enhancing efficiency.Item Airport privatization analysis(University of Management and Technolog, 2017) Ehtisham KhalidThe trend of privatization era has been starting after the approval for privatizing the major institutes in country by British government in the year of 1982. After this approval, the British Aviation Authority was the first one who privatized their major airports for capital funding and the efficiency improvement. Some of the states and local government faced major problems of finance for the management of airports, after the introduction of the policy of privatization, they started work on it, and used the assets of airports to generate more revenue and use it for the purposes of airports. After the British Aviation Authority, the airport authority of the other major countries like United States of America, Brazil, France and New Zealand started to privatize their airports on different models of privatization, to better management of the assets of their airports. In this era the air transportation made a common mean of travelling from one place to another, the technology advancement of aircraft, the globalization and other factors increasing the air travel of people day by day. To meet the increasing that demand of air travel, there is a huge need of effective management on the airports, because without the airports the air travel would not be possible. Initially the focus of the research of this final project, is on the background of privatization in worldwide, since its introduction, the example of different airports and the problems which occurred after the privatization are discussed. After that the detail discussion done on the structure of airport privatization, which include the evaluation of different models of airport privatization. At the ending phase the focus of research is shift to the global trends of privatization which include the details of different airports which are recently privatizedItem Pre-flight information unit(University of Management and Technology Lahore, 2017) Raza, QasimI had a chance to work at Civil Aviation Authority, AIIAP Lahore as an internee. I learned how to work in professional work space, the pressures and challenges of professional field. Whatever I have learned in Pre-Flight Unit CAA Lahore, I have complied with all the information about the Pre-Flight Unit CAA Lahore in this Project. The core objective of the Project is to fulfill the requirement of the BS Aviation Management program as prescribed by the UMT. A student has to prepare project report at the end of the degree period but the main objective of the project is to get the hands-on experience through research of the Aviation organization. The project completed with the objective of getting practical knowledge in the Pre-Flight of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority. As an intern, I realized that I was successful to gather a lot of significant learning experiences which would be helpful in my future career. The Pre-Flight of PCAA Lahore offered me sufficient space and opportunities, not only to learn but also to exhibit my skills as a Pre-Flight team member. I could use my theoretical knowledge in my Final project. I was actively involved in the department meetings where I shared my knowledge and views regarding the performance in Pre-Flight of PCAA. I also attempted to gather more information on basic job functions of other departments to have better understanding of the relation between them and the Pre-Flight department. It was admirable to see how wholeheartedly they welcomed, acknowledged and appreciated new ideas and knowledge. I have provided few recommendations based upon my understanding and knowledge. I successfully completed all the assigned duties and handed them over to the senior supervisor at the end of the internship. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenges that came along every single day. I could also bring some minor improvisations during my project which were able to leave their marks. These lessons that I have learned will be a valuable one for my future endeavors as well.Item Controversies among aviation pioneers(University of Management and Technology Lahore, 2017) Sameera WarisAviation was a dream: A dream and feelings of human that are the stimulus effect of the nature like bird flying which forces them to ponder that how man can soar into the air. And that has been diffused into their culture and portrayed through the myth and stories of the time which imitates the yearning of human to reach the air and that craving was so passionate and concentrated that they had fantasies the stories of man with wing flying in the air and how the objects can be premeditated that can take a person in the air. All those fabricated stories somehow delivered the idea of wings and flying crafts. The main ambition of this practicum is to research on the controversies among aviation pioneers and their exertions and influences in the field with special interaction between Aviation Pioneers of the ancient era from around 1780's to 19th century. The problem statement relies on that how does the inventions and contribution of Aviation Pioneers lead to the skirmishes and controversies among them and countries.Item Study on hangar safety and procedures(University of Management and Technology Lahore, 2017) Anas Murtaza, Muhammad; Shahan, Ahmad; Noor, Hasham; Saleem Khan, BasitAircraft maintenance agency's hangar safety research is weak compared to aeronautical flight organizations. This reality is a systematic effort to reduce the risk factors posed by aircraft maintenance agencies, so this is an environmental problem that causes more real incidents of accidents and serious accidents. The purpose of this study is to develop an improvement strategy by assessing the safety measures followed by the hangar and analyzing its flaws. On the basis of the safety of the hangar, the reliability of the questionnaire is very high. The evaluation result of safety rating of the aircraft maintenance organization hangar is evaluated at the organization level.Item The correlation between Human Physiology and Advancement of Technology in Aviation(University of Management and Technolog, 2017) Numra MirAs we all know the growth of advance in technology helped aviation to flourish in the world transporting people from one place to other with the efficient and safest means in the early 1970 to late 90s. It helped pilots to maintain a more precise and accurate view of flight dynamics onboard lowering the risks of human error that contributed to major accidents in aviation resulting the loss of lives but this explains one side of the story. The purpose of me to undertake this study is to highlight the unanticipated issues that arises due the non-correlation of human physiology because of the fast pace advancement of technology in aviation. The latter half of the study will discuss the details of human physiology and its limitations that were taken into consideration initially before designing and implementing the new parameters that proved to be successful in the evolutionary era up to a certain level of technology changes. However, the next half of the project will highlight the important preview of automation phases and the unanticipated issue establishing the fact that increasing automation up to a certain level in aviation industry doesn't contribute to any significant growth in safety and efficiency anddoesn't relate with the human philology as it has failed to create a fit between man and machinery interaction. The conclusion will discuss the relatable cockpit interface and training and safety solutions to prevent these issue and promoting the active status of humans rather than supervisory role.Item Expansion Plan of Allama Iqbal International Airport(University of Management and Technolog, 2017) Ali Khan, HassanThe world has changed itself into a fastest growing economy on the bases of air travel services. Initially people were not wide aware of the travel services provided and its benefits that can be utilized to save time in most crucial moments. It was only limited to intra country or intra continent travel. This trend was changed with the concept of de regulation where every sovereign state open it skies for the world to globally compete in travel market based on their own competitive skills. The open sky policy led to many bilateral agreements that allowed the airlines to visit other airports and carry their traffic in an origin destination pair based on the freedom rights given to each state. This gradually increased the flux of traffic among airports. This leads to the privatization of airports so that they can better managed and handle the flow of air traffic. For this purpose to accommodate the increasing demands the airports authorities focused on airports expansion globally. Different companies were given the responsibility to expand and operate the airport on either built-operate-own method or built –operate transfer methods. But in Pakistan the sole authority that is exercising the responsibilities is Civil Aviation Authority. It takes the charge of every practise and policy being done at airport. Civil aviation authority under the umbrella of Government of Pakistan was initially conducting all the operations at Walton Aerodrome. After the quick shift in travel statistics back in 2000, government approved an expansion plan to current AAIP. Recent trends once again had made the government to focus on the expansion plan to current AAIP so that it can be equipped with world class technology and infrastructure in order to accommodate the growing travel as well as technological advancement that are solely important in today’s aviation environment. Moreover the expansion itself will provide AAIP with a better self-image of actual culture and services that will help attract the passengers all over the world. This expansion will not only lead to more traffic but also increased economy due the employment opportunity generated by the expansion both in aeronautical as well non aeronautical areas of airports.Item Impact of technology on aviation(University of Management and Technology Lahore, 2017) Zunaira HassanItem Impact of human factor in aviation accidents(University of Management and Technology Lahore, 2017) Khizra TanveerFrom decades human factors are the most common contributing factors for aviation accidents. It can be seen from history that technology, rules, procedures, regulations, training methods and number of things have been improved and there risk factors have been mitigated but human factors are still prevailing the deadly safety issue. Approximately 75-80% mishaps in aviation are caused by human factors. Many safety training and programs are now being held at airports and in airline organizations. However there are no procedures that are made for resolving this issue. This research work comprises of all the technical and practical issues related to human factor with accident examples. Each and every aspect of human factor is visualized through past accidents. How an unsafe act can lead to distraction is clearly explained in this research. The main target was pilots, traffic controllers, flight crew and engineers. The aim of this research was to highlight the human factors, their origination and results. It may help future readers to know the starting point of error analysis.
