Item Setscape(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Mouzzama NadeemThe shadows allow us to produce light while stillness enables us to record valuable moments. Every frame contains narratives ranging between unknown and impossible to forget. These encapsulate the essence of Setscape, a visionary project rooted in the dynamic intersection of interior design and creative storytelling. This thesis demonstrates the conversion of Bahria Flour Mill's certain portion into a commercial building designed for different photographic and video recording needs. The project achieves its purpose through an innovative combination of versatile greenery elements with a charcoal-themed interior which results in a harmonious blend of natural elements and modern design. The "Luminescent Shadows: A Palette of Stories" theme explores how shadows create depth through their contrast with bright colors. The basic color scheme used is black white and grey that provides depth using maroon and deep blue shades to create dramatic visual impact. The outer landscape known as versatile greenery covers one kanal under the attractive archway with the help of box plants and flowerbeds fountain and bamboo-stick divider. The reception area, as related to its design theme, has dark wood floors, dark-colored glass walls with a tint that makes the area appear to have dim light along with Mona Lisa tiles that form an opulent appearance. The visual interest is heightened with round sofas and matched clocks and a curtain wall of water and reception wall with the term Setscape indicated on it using extruded grey textured lettering. editing room incorporates grey walls painted in bright illustrations typical of water paintings and white wooden floors and metal ceilings. Meeting areas next to each other serve both small and large groups through their combination of functionality and visual attractiveness. The first floor contains more photo and video production areas that provide adaptable spaces for diverse creative requirements. The design implements sustainable principles through storage facilities and cargo lift systems which enable effective management of props and sets. The soundproof environment results from using steel wool-filled walls as acoustic treatments. Lighting serves as an essential element since spotlights and LEDs provide balanced illumination. The Setscape project transforms commercial spaces by combining creative elements with functional requirements and beautiful design aspects. The interior design transformation of an industrial warehouse into a creative hub demonstrates how interior design can build memorable stories that leave enduring impacts on everyone who encounters it.Item Building possibilities for the trans community through guidance, potential, and a dream for the future(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Laiba JavedThe design of a shelter and literacy center for transgender individualities in Pakistan will be critically examined in this thesis in order to address their nonstop lack of access to safe spaces, social marginalization, and skill- structure openings. The design’s primary thing is to produce an terrain that supports mortal growth and commission via specialized and creative instruction in addition to offering physical protection. Particularly acclimatized to the pretensions and interests of the ambisexual community, the center will offer structured training in fashion design, interior design, graphic design, self- grooming, and freelance chops. The principles of inflexibility, mending, and acceptance will form the core of the architectural gospel. Gender-neutral spaces, precisely concentrated sequestration zones, a strong emphasis on natural light, and sustainable factors will all be featured in the design. In addition to furnishing the stoner with a feeling of , quality, and belonging, these ways will aim to support emotional well- being. The area will be courteously designed to offer particular comfort while encouraging group literacy and collective support by supporting both social contact and on his own retreat. In order to help people, heal, express themselves freely, and form wholesome connections with others, the retreat will also give areas for community commerce, comforting, and cultural tone- expression. The area will continue to work well for numerous times to come because to the design's inflexibility to changingrequirements. By directly addressing the spatial requirements of nonage groups, our exploration will eventually demonstrate how armature can be used as a vehicle for advancing social justice, equity, and commission. It'll argue that armature may support quality, autonomy, and visibility by knowing ambisexual people's lived gests and interpreting them as reflective physical responses. This design will be suitable to set an illustration for how unborn space may be imagined in order to produce a society that's indeed more loving and inclusive.Item High tech spanish classical mansion(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Aiman WasimThe study examines how to merge modern smart technology into traditional Spanish Classical Mansion architecture. The 2.5 kanal house built on a 14 kanal plot aims to reinterpret Spanish classical architecture through a sustainable modern residential design. The primary design objective focused on developing a luxurious dwelling which maintains traditional Spanish architecture elements including arched corridors and red clay roof tiles and carved wood and ornamental ironwork and stucco finishes for modern living needs. The interior spaces follow an open floor plan design which connects different rooms to create a smooth transition between interior spaces and outdoor areas through landscaped courtyards and water features and gardens. The implementation of advanced smart home systems aimed to enhance operational efficiency and user-friendly experiences. Voice-operated lighting systems together with automated heating controls and intelligent security protocols and efficient water management solutions and HVAC systems comprise these smart home features. The architects incorporated these systems into the structure through thoughtful placement to preserve the historical aesthetic of the building while merging modern technology with traditional design. Sustainability was a core aspect of the design. Solar energy systems and eco-friendly materials were integrated into the project to decrease environmental effects. The implementation of passive design techniques combined with energy-efficient appliances ensured both minimal resource consumption and enduring performance. These design choices work to protect the environment while also promoting economic efficiency. Research activities for this project included examining architectural case studies and sustainable design practices together with heritage building technology integration methods. The research findings provided essential information that shaped important decisions about material choice and construction techniques and system deployment. The mansion exists because of these investigations which combine cultural heritage elements with contemporary innovations. This project proves that traditional architectural elements can transform to meet current technological standards and environmental requirements. The project establishes an example for future residential architecture which unites cultural heritage preservation with intelligent systems and sustainable practices. This design serves as my effort to demonstrate how architecture can achieve equilibrium between aesthetic beauty and modern efficiency and comfort standards.Item Destination wedding in north pakistan(UMT.Lahore, 2025) HAMNA LIAQATThis thesis analyzes the planning and architectural design of a wedding destination site in Northern Pakistan suited for middle-class to upper-class families who want a beautiful, peaceful and memorable wedding. The beautiful northern region of Pakistan that is rich in natural beauty, temperate climate, and mountainous views provides a new opportunity for destination weddings that are experiencing increasing popularity globally. Couples tend to build their own ephemeral infrastructures because these areas lack purpose-built venues to create seamless logistical traffic flow and overall less uniformalized user experience. This project aims to address this gap by providing a long-term architectural solution with intended functional capabilities and aesthetics. The design leverage of modern minimalism is the main logo to the proposed project, utilizing large open spaces, crisp lines, muted or monochromatic color schemes, and a solid integration of the surrounding environment. With not only create visual calmness but also elegance and timelessness that complements the prospects of the target audience's modern wedding aspirations, this minimalist design, combined with the element of simplicity also create an experience uniquely distinguished while remaining comfortable and luxurious. The design is divided into functional sections, each serving a distinct but connected function. The administrative block is the central part of any wedding; the area that handles bookings, meetings and logistics in an orderly and efficient way. The Indoor Banquet Hall works as the perfect formal ceremony and reception space since it is an enclosed area that can be easily changed to allow for an eclectic mixture of styles and weather conditions. The Outdoor Wedding Space offers couples that would like to hold the wedding vows in a rustic, beautiful outdoor area, allowing stunning views of the mountains. The venue's destination element is further enhanced by adding a café to the design of the venue and allowing visitors to have a relaxed space to sit, eat and absorb the venue atmosphere. The Residential Hotel Block could accommodate up to 150 guests with specialty suites for the couple and families. The overall aesthetic of the project remains simplified while providing warmth and friendliness from the comfort and design of the rooms. The key principles of the project are sustainability, and environmental responsiveness. While energy efficiency elements work to minimize the environmental impact of the work, local material choices such as wood and stone, help to enable the building's architecture to relate to the built and natural environment. This thesis offers the unique opportunity for a destination wedding experience right in the heart of Northern Pakistan through an architectural package that is both aspirational and attainable. This project will help couples celebrate their milestones and take action for their future direction, while also working to build tourism and employment locally, and help further develop a sustainable hospitality and event economy in the area.Item Wild quest(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Yusairah FaisalWith an ever-changing virtual epoch, boundaries between digital experience and the physical blur further. Today's audience, deeply engaged in games, television, and cinematic experiences, wants more emotional and sensory involvement with narratives on which they spend time. This project examines creating an immersive, responsive environment for bringing virtual narratives into spatially real presence. Styled "Bringing Virtuality to Reality," the project seeks a continuously changing interior space that renews every halfyear with a new popular franchisee, beginning with The Witcher, followed by The Maze Runner, and then Call of Duty. The design strives to physically, emotionally, and socially engage users via a syncretic environment of sceno-graphic storytelling, interactive design, and atmospheric resolution. It does this by thoroughly studying the aesthetic, architectural, and emotional cues of each of the chosen themes, and translating them into performative spatial elements. Themed walks, sensory rooms, interactive installation, and sensory adventures are some of the principal design elements that help the users be immersed into the story. For that purpose, and in addition to an immersive environment for each item, the complex also has a neutral social anchor in a café open both inside and outside to enable community presence, conversation, and relaxation. The café is unobtrusively themed toward the present franchise but is more of a neutral, social anchor that enables shared experience and cultural dialogue. This project meets the growing demand for experiential leisure spaces where interior architecture and entertainment converge to create a revelatory, nostalgia-inducing experience. The twice-a-year remodeling cycle keeps the space fresh, up-to-date, and commercially sound, along with the added benefit of exposing frequent users to something new. This thesis not only responds aesthetically and experientially but also to the logistical, technical, and economic requirements of continually changing interior design. It investigates modularity, materiality flexibility, light strategy, and spatial flexibility in a manner that enables it to be able to provide each transition needed within the timescale. Lastly, the design honors the potential of storytelling space, giving a space where readers can live inside the fiction they love.Item Mohabbat made – for women , By women.(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Urwa UbaidOn a culturally grounded, socially engaged, and emotionally restorative level, this thesis studies Café Mohabbat Made, a woman-only, activity-oriented therapeutic café in Pakistan that remixes mainstream café culture. This café offers a valuable alternative in an environment where women are excluded from public space because it is not safe for them, social expectations keep them away, or exclusionary conditions prevail. It is a supportive, womanly environment where modern practices of mental health and heritage crafts intersect. The project aims to create an environment that economically, creatively, and emotionally empowers women by cross-breeding interior design and social innovation. The concept of Café Mohabbat Made is to preserve local craft tradition and healing qualities of handmade art. Four core creative activities—trailer art painting, Ajrak-inspired block print, Ralli patch stitching, and jewellery-making (wire and charm bangles)—nurture the pillars on which the café stands. Each activity has been selected with its hands-on activity and participative cultural heritage so that the visitors can relate, communicate, and introspect. Specialty activity stations, inhouse raw material storage, and situation-specific furniture that is comfortable but efficient are some of the ways through which these crafts are incorporated in interior design. Other than their looks, suchcrafts also break the access barrier between urban consumers and rural artisans by reaching out to skilled women artisans in local villages and offering them jobs. The robust cultural richness of Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Iran, and Turkey stimulated space planning, for example, warmth and healing concepts. The healing atmosphere of the café is also augmented by the vocabulary of materials, for example, terracotta tones, cream walls, and sage green tones. Safety and well-being are also enhanced by materials such as arches, low seating, carved wood elements, and natural texture. The cafe building of four floors has been planned functionally in a way that all the activities are carried out economically. Pantry and kitchen area for provisions and craft material have been accommodated at basement level. Food counter and sitting places have been accommodated at ground floor, and mezzanine floor has been planned to include the block printing activity. The first floor is devoted to beading jewelry with tables specifically designed to hold flat work space for tools and beads. Ralli stitching occupies the second floor with fabric rolls in long strips and cushioned chairs to allow for easy use for casual group usage. The design is incorporated at each floor level but considers individual user requirements and circulation. All four floors of the café have been designed appropriately for all activities. Kitchen and ingredient, as well as craft, storage are completed on the basement floor. Seating area and food counter are completed on the ground floor, and block printing activity is taken care of on the mezzanine. Jewelry production is given space on the first floor, and tables are particularly arranged with flat surfaces for tools and beads. Ralli sewing is kept available for use on the second floor where there is cushioned seating and rolls of fabric to allow for convenient group work. Special user requirements and circulation are found on each level but honor well in the area of design integrity. This thesis demonstrates that interior design isn't necessarily an event for the senses—it can be social change. With design grounded in intention and empathy, Café Mohabbat Made establishes a model for how thoughtful, inclusive design can build spaces not simply to function and be beautiful, but deeply to heal.Item “ibtida” Women empowerment center(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Laiba GullAs Rahim Yar Khan, which is located in southern Punjab, grows urban faster than anticipated, there is a significant shortfall of dedicated open, inclusive, and free standing spaces for women. Most of the existing building fabric does not facilitate women's diverse needs along with skill building, wellness, networking, and personal development. The Women Empowerment Center isa proposed conceptual design to help fill the void of women specific programs and activities that bring women together in a safe, productive, and culturally appropriate space. The Women Empowerment Center will be a multi-purpose holistic space for all types of women - homemakers, students, entrepreneurs, and professionals alike. The Center plans to be located nearer to the city's educational and economic center. The design and architecture of the Center aims to be unpretentious and welcoming. The architecture and spatial configuration embodies inclusive, flexible, and empowerment principles. The Center aims to combine elements of royal patronage in architecture with contemporary classical design conventions, thus dignified and elegant, yet very practically organized into functions. The Women Empowerment Center will combine five themed zones under one roof, each will have distinctive yet coordinated function including women's intellectual, physical, and social development. The skills training zone is a major part of the center and features modular studios for experiential learning in various areas such as digital literacy, cooking, tailoring, and handicrafts. The studios will include furniture which can be arranged in varying configurations, smart lighting, and will have a flexible layout that will allow for variability in teaching type and group size, and create opportunities to further develop entrepreneurial skills, for example, collaborative work with participants, increasing confidence. The wellness wing of the center is another important aspect of the project. The site allows the opportunity to promote both physical and mental well-being and includes: yoga and group exercise studios, a meditation garden to practice mindfulness, and change facilities for participants before and after classes. The wellness zone will allow the participants to have a calming restorative place, where they will have the time to pursue activities for self-care oralleviate daily stress, things that many women often overlook in their daily lives. The project intends to achieve more than just propose a building. It is about providing a safe, empowering and inspirational environment for them to feel confident to be the best version of themselves. The experiences gained while trying to consider functionality, structural culture, richness and depth in design hopefully influences a prototype for community based noninstitutional if female support spaces in Rahim Yar Khan or potentially other urban centers in Pakistan.Item The mad mind as space(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Zunaina TauseefThis thesis takes you on an artistic journey, unraveling through the chaos and a series of intense emotions that form the mind of a “Mad genius”, where emotions meet interiors to create an unsettling, almost abstract design that maps out the journey of a creative mind. My conceptual research relies solely upon the complexities of human emotions and mental distortions interwoven with creativity, which all creative people could relate to. These feelings, when enhanced to an extent, blur the line between madness and creative genius. The backbone of my research is Vincent Van Gogh, Louis Wain, and Salvador Dali. All are known as geniuses in art, but did they actually feel that way from the inside? Or was it just an outcome of what state of mind they were in? My main interest area was what actually went on in those great minds and how their lives influenced their creative process. After doing case studies of various creative people and general observations, I've concluded that there is a series of events directly linked with emotions that lead to mad genius. I've formulated them as “The Seven Stages of Madness” that every creative mind could relate to, or maybe somewhere in their journey of becoming a mad genius. 1. Love – the strings of your heart connecting to something, that’s the first step into the abnormality of thinking and feeling, a slight deviation in one’s mind and judgment. 2. Obsession – the deviation taking a turn, clouds your mind and soul, a great strike of motivation that makes you achieve something abnormally. 3. Deprivation – Associated with loss, this leaves a hole in one’s soul. 4. Isolation – Isolating oneself from social interactions, nothing could fill that hole. 5. Distortion- the deviation altering one’s brain chemistry 6. Hallucination – The reality that one’s brain starts making itself as a result of the deviation. 7. Freedom – the freedom from oneself, becoming selfless, and doing things for the sake of doing them. Madness is a slight deviation from normal mind functioning, and after research, I've concluded that there is no way that a creative person could be fully sane. My motive is to translate these complex stages into the language of space (interiors). Keeping this in view, I've designed two units, both with an artistic motive. One is the Arts Academy for Beginners, which also provides a platform for struggling artists to exhibit their work. The academy is designed on the motive of the rawness of such complex feelings combined, and has more of a silence after a big storm feel. The second unit is an artist residency, based completely on the portrayal of the “Seven Stages of Madness” individually, and has a more chaotic and storytelling feel. The purpose of these two units is to show both sides of the coin, which in my case is chaos and the peace made with chaos. Functionally, I've combined two categories of artists, beginners and professionals, to create a helpful and free environment where beginners could receive guidance within a platform and both categories could discover their inner mad genius without being judged.Item ‘From steel to style’ transforming shipping containers into dream homes(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Sumaika AmirThe growing demand for sustainable and economical housing solutions has warranted constant innovation in the housing industry. Subsequently, given the advantages, container homes have gained traction as a revolutionary approach to modern housing. This predisposition towards container homes has also prompted scholarly interest and recent works have dwelled upon the prospect of container homes as a solution to urban housing in countries like Srilanka, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and so forth. Notwithstanding, there is an absence of similar works in Pakistan, which more or less presents similar socio-economic conditions. Consequently, this study taps into this research gap and seeks to explore the plausibility of repurposed shipping containers being transformed into functional, aesthetically appealing, and environment friendly homes in Pakistan. A country experiencing a surge in urban housing demand, container homes can admittedly provide a plausible solution. By delving into modern interior design strategies, material selection and spaceoptimization approaches, this study endeavors to reimagine steel structures into contemporary residential spaces. In doing so, the study also seeks to deliberate upon the challenges that smother container homes, namely, insulation & ventilation strategies, structural modifications, compliance with building and safety standards. Additionally, the research is also directed to elicit the prospect of container housing as a potential solution for urban housing and disaster relief shelters & challenges of container home design, including insulation, ventilation, structural modifications, and compliance with building codes. By relying on case studies and expert insights, the study attempts tobridge the chasm between industrial materials and modern interior design, demonstrating how steels containers can transform from mere steel structures into personalized housing which not only exude aesthetic excellence but also showcase sustainability and functionality. The thesis will begin by giving a fleeting overview of the existing literature on container homes, focusing on factors that have propelled its importance in contemporary times[1].Likewise, the challenges that impede an all out shift to container homes as a solution to urbanhousing will also be looked into. The literature review also seeks to deliberate on the geographical dynamics that underpin the adoption of containers as a solution to rapid urbanization with a particular interest in the socio-economic conditions. Moving on the thesis will identify and deliberate upon the research gap that this study seeks to address i.e. container homes as a solution to the rising need of urban housing in Pakistan. This section will attempt to draw onto the similarities that the case of Pakistan presents vis-à-vis the case studies elicited in the literature review section. The section that follows will delineate the methodology that this research will hinge onto followed by a section on the research findings. The thesis will conclude by a section on practical implications alongside avenues for future research . Index terms – Container homes, developing countries, low income housing, modern housing, sustainability, Pakistan, third world, urbanization.Item Mehrbana meena(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Sana IslamThe Pashtun village-themed tourism area draws its inspiration from my hometown in Swat which is famous for its stunning natural landscapes and ancient cultural traditions. The traditional elements of our village life in Swat deeply influenced me because I spent my childhood among its majestic mountains and lush green valleys and vibrant traditions. . The traditional elements of our village life in Swat deeply influenced me because I spent my childhood among its majestic mountains and lush green valleys and vibrant traditions. I want to recreate and present to global audiences a project that represents my commitment, to the attractive landscapes, welcoming nature and brave Pashtun spirit. A space which generates emotional experiences and is more than just a simple system is what I want Mehrbana Meena to represent Every traveller must visit this destination which is located in the form of a project occupying 7 kanal area in total at the point of motorway M1 which connects Islamabad to Peshawar. Such destination is an entity of peace which brings deeper connection to nature. Pashtun culture is the main aspect of Mehrbana Meena, whose sole inspiration is brought from such divine culture's warmth and natural elegance, which brings traditions to existence through its detailed aspects. The main function of the establishment is to act as a historical tribute which generates peacefulness while bringing our attention to the stories that paved our identity. The title Mehrbana Meena dictates Pashtun hospitality by its meaning of “Kind Love.” wholehearted love exists as a generous feeling which welcomes everyone with open arms. Every aspect of this establishment features deliberate design options for its materials and work which aim to help one coming remember their home. The mixture of earthy clay scents with wall layouts and petal like background music establishes a nostalgic environment of warmth throughout this area. The project's essence is expressed through its tagline Da Yaduna Tatobay which means “The Warmth of Memories.” Mehrbana Meena exists beyond being a transit point because it functions as a heart-centred space. The establishment presents a family atmosphere through its design elements which aim to bring back happy memories of childhood and family dining and local life and the simple joy of sharing food. Why a Pashtun cultural destination, someone might ask, specifically on the IslamabadPeshawar Motorway? The solution depends on accessibility together with meaning. The route passes through major cities yet it fails to show the complete cultural wealth that exists between them. Mehrbana Meena offers a unique chance for travellers as well as for locals. Tourists who want to experience Swat's way of life do not need to go far into the valleys. The mountains' spirit exists near the road. The Mehrbana Meena provides drivers on the M1 Motorway with more than a typical stop because it combines Pashtun cultural heritage with northern Pakistani natural beauty. The traditional mud and stone buildings and beautiful gardens and open courtyards of the space create an inviting atmosphere that reflects the peaceful essence of Swat's villages. The establishment provides comfortable areas for guests to unwind while they enjoy traditional Pashtun cuisine and listen to folk music that creates an atmosphere of home comfort which is hard to find in modern commercial stops. At Mehrbana Meena you will discover a place beyond being a location because it embodies a specific emotional experience. Every bite at this location creates feelings of home while each area within the space preserves important memories.Item The silent pour café(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Laiba RaoThe silent pour is a space designed to provide a space that gives a break to their customers from the bustling and busy life. This cafe is a perfect blend of two culturally rich design themes – Japandi and Najdi. Based on these themes this café is a perfect blend of earthy tones, geometric patterns and soulful warmth. The design of this café is to promote the social interactions and also let their users enjoy solitude provides quiet areas to work in silence. This café is carefully divided and zoned to get a perfect balance between community and solitude. The public areas are designed for people to socialize and build their community through open seating area and communal tables whereas Semi- private and private areas such as digital detox area, Study lounge, solo and duo workstations are for those people who would like to focus on their work and need quiet area to work on their creativity. I am taking nature as inspiration and trying to design a place where you can get most of the natural items such as woods, plants, greenery, stone so that we can enjoy the calmn and peaceful space. I have provided public seating area on the ground floor so it would be easy for a large group of people and can access easily. However, for the private areas I have placed them on the first floor so they would not get distracted from the crowd of people and can fully focus on their work. The detox area on the first floor captured the essence of Japandi calmness by having clean lines, warm woods and soft curves. Curved arches, natural lightning, green plants, natural wood foster an environment that can relax the senses of the person and can be more productive. The landscape area provides functionality and aesthetics . This café is a perfect spot for freelancers who unfortunately don’t have lots of options to work at. As most of their work is online so a large community do their work at homes and can’t focus that much because of the distractions at home. Also, many entrepreneur, students, business owners or whoever want space that is less distracted can come and can do their work while enjoying drinks. So, I’ve designed a space where you can imagine modern café not as noisy space but a space where silence means healness and where every corner gives you warmth and peace.Item Haven pet clinic and shelter house(UMT.Lahore, 2025) MAIDAHaven Pet Clinic and Shelter House is a Detailed dedicated Extraordinary Treatment, haven and affection for pets. The concept of revival is to keep the culture and tradition of this land alive, as the subcontinent was under the rule of Mughals for a very long time their contribution to architecture and interior can be seen in their artistic projects like masjid Wazir Khan, Badshahi masjid Lahore, Jamia Masjid Delhi, Taj Mahal etc. In this thesis, I’m designing a mosque on an approximately 23-kanal plot in Eden Abad Extension at Pine Avenue near Lake City, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The site gives me an ideal location to develop my project because the land is under development and has residential areas nearby, so it will perform as a Jamia masjid for the society and nearby areas. A unique feature I’ve added is a Community Hall, which brings back the mosque’s original role as a space for gathering, learning, and interaction without judging the beliefs of other individuals, something that was an important part of Islamic architecture and learning but is often missing in today’s time. My major preference for this project is to design a layout that is symmetrical and that fulfils the requirements to achieve Mughal-era spaces I will do the space planning and layout design of this project considering factors like symmetry, natural light source, ventilation, zone divisions, and to create a sense of peace by adding nature in the form of courtyard in centre of mosque and also adding landscape area on both side elevations of masjid to create magnificent and calming views from the mosque windows. My design preference for the masjid, it will have a huge structure like Mughal masjids, but the materials and finishes will include contemporary materials. In this project, you will see a balance of the Mughal era with inspiration from masjid Wazir Khan and contemporary principles and design elements. My focus is to bring back the essence of Mughal interiors, things like symmetry, surface ornamentation, intricate patterns, use of natural light, and that sense of divine scale. But instead of copying it directly, the aim is to interpret it using contemporary materials and methods. In designing the project's exterior and interior, I want to balance practicality, aesthetics, and spirituality. I want to design a space that feels timeless a link to the past and still anchored in the present. The idea is to serve as a reminder of our cultural identity; a place to learn, connect, and belong. That is the reason I named my mosque MASJID-AL-NAS, a mosque for mankind.Item Beyond the machine(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Mamoona TayyabThis thesis will showcase the interior design concept for a brand-new and fully functional Kawasaki motorbike showroom in Lahore. In a typical showroom, like a regular showroom, the Kawasaki bikes are displayed alongside other brands. That’s how the original impression of the brand will be lost. So the goal of this project is to create the showroom that will only show the style, innovation, & performance of Kawasaki. Based on research, the showroom will be divided into separate sections on the basis of each bike series category. In this project the landscape will be built on the backside of the showroom, and in the middle of it, a test road will be built, which will have 2 types of roads: one road will be perfectly smooth, and the other one will be slightly rocky. And a sitting area for bikers will be built near the test ride area where they can relax or have some gossip, or they can also enjoy the rest ride. The showroom will be made almost entirely of glass, while the office and restroom walls will be made of bricks for privacy. A display area will be created where new arrival bikes will be placed, and also the waiting area and the counter. A separate floor will be built for the outfits and for the bikers’ accessories, and there will also be a try-room. And a museum will be built where vintage bikes of the Kawasaki brand will be kept, and a display will be created that describes the entire brand history. Service/maintenance room and the storage room in which new stock will be placed that will be built in the basement. A slope ramp will be built to access the basement. The design will use a lot of natural light. A large glass skylight will be built in the center of the roof. And there will be glass from the ground floor to the first floor to make the showroom look open and bright. That is also a key architectural feature, a proven approach to increase store sales by up to 40%. The interior will feature the polished concrete floor, steel glass partitions, and Kawasaki’s famous emerald green color that will make the showroom environment stylish. Lighting will also be carefully designed to highlight both the bike display and the look of the whole showroom. This showroom design won’t just change the way motorcycles are presented. Rather, it will also strengthen the connection with its customers. Combining unique architecture with allowing brand fiction serves to. This place will give visitors the opportunity to experience the speed, power, and legacy of the Kawasaki brand. The aim of this project will be to awaken passion among riders and create a strong emotional bond with the brand. By doing so, it will set a new benchmark for motorcycle retailing in Pakistan.Item When walls speak(UMT.Lahore, 2025) KHADIJAH LIAQATThe Modern Reverie: Where Luxury Meets Soul is an interior design thesis project that redefines what it means to inhabit a modern luxury residence not merely in aesthetics or functionality, but through emotional and experiential connection with space. Created as a haven for the modern daydreamer, the house is then a canvas of light, texture, and quiet where every corner speaks not just of wealth, but of purpose. Designed within a peaceful suburban landscape, this house design takes a smooth fusion of simplicity and coziness a modern abode that talks of elegance without sacrificing essence. The home is designed for a big family in power innovative but down-to-earth who desire a life of harmony between luxury living and mental calm. Drawn from international luxury design trends but based on sustainability, the design uses a soothing material vocabulary, large glass facades, interior water elements, and multi-sensory design features which provide moments of reflection. The physical design evolves through double-level lounges, suspended staircases, intelligent kitchens, spa-like bathrooms, and a signature sky-lit reading nook — each area thoughtfully designed to provide privacy and exposure. An ambient-controlled home cinema, a Zen courtyard garden, and an adaptable wellness studio turn the house into an experience home over a residence. Technology serves a crucial purpose in the form of home automation systems, biometric entry, adaptive lighting, and energy-saving smart appliances. As part of alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), i.e., SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities), SDG 7 (Clean Energy), and SDG 13 (Climate Action), solar integration, greywater recycling, green materials, and smart climate control are incorporated into the project. This thesis is a testament to how contemporary luxury is not excess anymore but about intentional design, engulfing comfort, and eco-friendly elegance. The Modern Reverie is not just a house. It is a contemporary-day fantasy achieved in concrete, glass, and light.Item The landed ship(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Izah AzeemThis thesis involves a ship restaurant on land overlooking a serene lake. Most people do not have knowledge of aquatic life, resulting in them being oblivious of the results of their negligence, such as throwing plastic, mirrors, and many factories dumping their industrial waste in the sea, such as toxic chemicals, steel, and much more. This ship will not only be an aesthetic place to enjoy food, but it will also include elements that could help spread awareness about aquatic life. The key element would include a steel pipe wall designed in waythat looks pleasing yet have a striking message about waste then a mirror wall with the QR code that leads to the videos of divers extracting mirror pieces from corals, fish hideouts and many more places that is affecting the health of many living organisms under water. The mirror would also serve the reflective experience and self-awareness of their action. The seashell wall emphasizes the beauty and delicacy of the sea and how we are leading towards its destruction. The ship not being in the water symbolizes a bridge between water and land, the natural world, and the consequences of modern industrialization. It can be seen metaphorically or literally in terms of reflection, where a man could not only enjoy their meals but also think about their role in protecting what lives underneath their view of the water. This restaurant will be a year-round use to enjoy good food with a serene view, with multiple seating arrangements on 2 decks. The lower deck with extreme luxurious seating, with a bar area, and the upper deck with open-air BBQ it will be a perfect spot to enjoy events and special days. The industrial kitchen would be designed with modern equipment and state-of-the-art appliances, including a high-capacity oven, powerful exhaust, and chillers. Grills and smart cooking stoves support efficient cooking and service. It is designed with hygiene, functionality, and efficiency in mind. The layout follows a seamless workflow from making to plating for minimum cross-contamination and maximizing staff productivity. Eco-friendly choices, such as a waste management plan and energy-efficient equipment, are used to align with the project’s core message about sustainabilityItem Luxe house of chocolates(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Areeba SalmanThe thought of this project came from a chocolate bar named Tony's Chocolonely. Tony's Chocolonely, often shortened to Tony's, is a Dutch chocolate manufacturer and seller created in 2005 by television producer and journalist Teun van de Keuken as a protest against child exploitation and slavery in the chocolate industry. In this project, I’m designing a museum on an approximately 14 kanal plot on Main Boulevard, Gulberg, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The plot is divided into 3 main elements parking, landscape and museum building. Parking being approximately 3.3 kanal, Landscape being approximately 3 kanal and the museum building being 4.4 kanal. The Luxe Chocolate Museum provides an interactive experience that highlights the fascinating history and artistry of chocolate production. Built in a vibrant urban location, the museum engages visitors of all ages with interactive exhibitions, educational programs, and sample tastings. The museum's collection depicts the journey of chocolate from its ancient origins to modern culinary advances, emphasizing cultural value and sustainable practices in this industry. Guests learn about the entire chocolate making process, from bean to bar, through guided tours and interactive activities. The museum also hosts periodic exhibitions that highlight global chocolate traditions, encouraging an appreciation for a variety of flavors and techniques. By incorporating art displays and cooperation with local chocolatiers, the Luxe Chocolate Museum establishes itself as a cultural hotspot that fosters both enjoyment and education. Sustainability measures being implemented in this project include Sustainable Packaging (EcoFriendly Materials, Refill Stations), Energy Efficiency (Renewable Energy, Energy-Efficient Lighting), Green Building Practices (Sustainable Materials, Landscaping), Waste Management (Recycling Programs), and Educational Programs (Sustainability Workshops). The integration of solar panels at the Luxe Chocolate Museum exemplifies a proactive approach to sustainability, showcasing the benefits of renewable energy in reducing environmental impact and operational costs.Item A city confined juvenile detention centre(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Muniba JavedThe effective design and furnishing of juvenile detention centers would influence the mind and the emotions of young offenders to a large extent. This study examines how simple design options can transform punitive environments that are too harsh to supportive and instructive environments that become beneficial to society. The proposed designs are based on valid concepts combining requirements on the provided security and humane treatment. They look at elements of building such as mental impact, people in the designs and the issues with the existing buildings. The literature suggests that better designed juvenile detention centers willresult in a better reasonability and a lower rate of recurrence as well as better rehabilitation. All these change the emphasis to punishment and shift it to primary objectives of juvenile justice systems. Any juvenile who commits antisocial behavior that his or her parents cannot control and yet they face proceedings is called a juvenile delinquent. The problem of juvenile delinquency has not been limited to some parts of the world as both centralized as well as semi-organized developing and industrialized regions have been affected by it. The criminal justice system is given utmost priority in any democratic society because it holds everybody accountable. It is doubtful that in case of instability and insecurity in a society there can be economic growth as citizens are in fear of safety and their property. To many youths currently, the traditional systems that they are supposed to go through in order to transform into families, to schools and then into the labor market are failing. The social connections which formerly helped one in easily fitting into the societal niche are slowly decaying, and life careers are increasingly becoming diverse and ambiguous. Such circumstances contribute to the situation where juvenile delinquency has an increased chance to thrive. It has been said that, no one can stand to say s/he knows a nation without ever being there in its jails, Nelson Mandela himself once said, when addressing a group of people. Who can know better than? The purpose of the prison in Pakistan has long turned out to be the one of pathetic imprisonment, where the criminal is being punished in the crudest way. This has not only led to crime but it has also devastated very many lives. Overall, present-day efforts to treat juvenile delinquency can be defined by the lack of concerted effort along with the lack of the taskoriented and effective social work on both potential victims and future criminals. This way we encourage recidivism and this will be harmful to our society. The current state of affairs in juvenile delinquency as the highly complex and widespread issue is not properly covered by crime prevention programs which are suspicious, to say the least. Thus in this thesis, emphasis has been given to interior and architectural restoration. It aims at coming up with a heath and rehabilitation facility where young people will rehab to ensure that they get back into the society. The thesis proposal aims at putting up a special correctional CENTRE specifically dedicated to dealing with young offenders as there are not many juvenile correctional CENTREs within the Pakistani context. Achievement of the above goal by the researcher is done in various ways i.e. acquisition of a better understanding of juvenile delinquents, their psyche, the reasons why they committed a crime, the purpose of incarceration, therapeutic setting and the formulated design of a rehabilitation CENTRE. The main target here will be to rehabilitate them by providing a caring environment where the thinking of the juveniles can be changed early enough through education, counseling and the supply of needs.Item Lahore international airport the regal arcadia(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Sameet MunirAs this is about the perfect lounge for Lahore Imagine what it’s like stepping into a space that feels like a poetic meeting point between the land and the stars. [1] Punjab Royale is all about to capture the true soul of Punjab, its vibrant spirit and blending it with the timeless grace of Mughal royalty, and Inspired by the magic of the Sheesh Mahal, with its sparkling mirrors and royal charm, in my opinion the lounge should feel like a peaceful retreat for travelers. Every corner whispers stories of history, culture, and deep emotions, making you feel right at home, even while you're on the move. [2]In addition to lush wheat fields, colorful textiles, and warm hospitality, it also features exquisite carvings, luminous lighting, and sparkling mirrors that showcase the magnificence of Mughal artistry. This area aims to evoke an emotion rather than only be aesthetically pleased with every detail from the hand-carved wooden furniture to the intricate marble inlays and every traveler should remember of a land that is both grounded and majestic. [3] [3] I'm going to make my vision a reality; the lounge will have some warm, regal textures and colors. The soft fabrics that convey historical tales, the mirror work that reflects light, and the creation of land-based symbols like wheat stalks and mustard flowers that anchor the room in its foundation are all very important. The environment will be softer with subtle lighting and vegetation accents.[4] While enhancing futuristic design elements, Lahore as we all know the heart of Punjabi heritage, the design includes traditional patterns, motifs, and materials with modern architecture, smart technology, and sustainable practices to enhance the user experience. My research involved studying about Punjabi culture, royal aesthetics, airport lounges, and user needs to develop a space that is both elegant and functional. [5]Item Fantasy in functional form(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Bisma EhtishamPlatform 9¾: Step out of the Ordinary, Enter the Extraordinary is an interior design thesis project that delves into the possibilities of designing a really immersive space based on the magical kingdom of Harry Potter. The intent is to turn a commercial location into an extraordinary space in which tourists can step away from the ordinary and become immersed in a world of wonder, creativity, and magic. Situated in Valencia Town, Pine Square, Lahore, the design aims at a wide range of audience, such as young adults, families, tourists, and Harry Potter fans, to ensure the space accommodates various interests. The architecture features four distinct areas: a themed cafe, a Gothic-style library, an interactive theatre, and activity zones for interactive play with a merchandise area. The cafe, drawing its inspiration from the Great Hall, provides potion-inspired drinks in a whimsical environment filled with novel architectural details and atmospheric lighting. The library, in the classic Gothic style, provides rare, signed editions of J.K. Rowling books, though embedded with interactive fantasy elements like the giant fantasy book as a landmark providing that wonder effect. Immersive theatre combines documentaries recorded on national scale that do not receive recognition along with Harry Potter film series and provides a fully distinct experience. The interactive areas are crafted to appeal to both children and adults. These consist of a potions bar where children can transform their voices, mechanical birds like Hedwig that respond to visitors. The merchandise section has a vast array of unique Harry Potter-themed items, from wands and apparel to other memorabilia, so fans have the chance to bring home some magic. This idea is inspired by popular themed experiences like the Warner Bros. Studio in London, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, and Tokyo's Harry Potter Cafe. According to my own survey results, 70% of respondents know about the Harry Potter series, 75% are excited most about the magical cafe, and 70% are willing to pay an entry fee of around 1500 PKR, which justifies the viability of such an initiative. In harmony with the major United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 9 (Infrastructure and Innovation), SDG 8 (Economic Growth), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for Goals), this project incorporates green features like solar panels, smart lighting, sensory features and digital ticketing. Platform 9¾ provides more than a themed location; it guarantees an unforgettable experience that merges magic, sustainable design, and innovative storytelling
