Abstract
The silent pour is a space designed to provide a space that gives a break to their customers from the bustling and busy life. This cafe is a perfect blend of two culturally rich design themes – Japandi and Najdi. Based on these themes this café is a perfect blend of earthy tones, geometric patterns and soulful warmth. The design of this café is to promote the social interactions and also let their users enjoy solitude provides quiet areas to work in silence. This café is carefully divided and zoned to get a perfect balance between community and solitude. The public areas are designed for people to socialize and build their community through open seating area and communal tables whereas Semi- private and private areas such as digital detox area, Study lounge, solo and duo workstations are for those people who would like to focus on their work and need quiet area to work on their creativity. I am taking nature as inspiration and trying to design a place where you can get most of the natural items such as woods, plants, greenery, stone so that we can enjoy the calmn and peaceful space. I have provided public seating area on the ground floor so it would be easy for a large group of people and can access easily. However, for the private areas I have placed them on the first floor so they would not get distracted from the crowd of people and can fully focus on their work. The detox area on the first floor captured the essence of Japandi calmness by having clean lines, warm woods and soft curves. Curved arches, natural lightning, green plants, natural wood foster an environment that can relax the senses of the person and can be more productive. The landscape area provides functionality and aesthetics . This café is a perfect spot for freelancers who unfortunately don’t have lots of options to work at. As most of their work is online so a large community do their work at homes and can’t focus that much because of the distractions at home. Also, many entrepreneur, students, business owners or whoever want space that is less distracted can come and can do their work while enjoying drinks. So, I’ve designed a space where you can imagine modern café not as noisy space but a space where silence means healness and where every corner gives you warmth and peace.
