The randomization took place on the basis of the prior results, of both the groups, of all the subjects. The students of the experimental group were given the treatment of interventions in the form of the instructions, incorporated in lesson planning, to check the impact of teaching with controlling the attention diversion behavior. The instrument used to see the impact of teaching with controlling attention diversion behavior of the students before and after the treatment was pretest and posttest. Data was analyzed by applying independent sample t-test & paired sample t-test. On the basis of results the researcher rejected the null hypothesis (H0) showing significant difference was found in the achievement of the students in Geography at elementary school level on the basis of teaching through controlling the attention diversion behavior of the students. Effectiveness of private tuition academies for students’ learning
    (UMT.Lahore, 2019) Urooj Azmat
Private tuition means the extra coaching that is provided outside the regular institutions. This study explores how managers of tuition academies describe the effectiveness of private tuition academies for students’ learning. The main objectives of this research were to explore how managers of private academies describe: the nature of classroom and private tuition practices, especially in the development of creative and critical skills in students and explore pedagogic techniques academy managers believe to be essential for achieving learning gains. Case study a qualitative research approach was chosen and a purposive sampling technique was employed to recruit 13 participants. A semi-structured interview guide was designed after discussing with the fields’ experts and improving it afterward according to their suggestions. Two pilot interviews was conducted to ensure trustworthiness of the tool. Managers of tuition academies highlight that private tuition academies have a strong and positive effect on students’ achievement, which they believed could contribute to the economic enhancement and prosperity of the country. Most managers develop creative thinking in students because they consider that creative thinking skill is important for getting good grades in examination. Most participants use the lecture method because of coverage of the syllabus in a limited time and more focused on drill learning but on the other side, some participants discourage drill method. Furthermore, they argue that the education system is examination-oriented; therefore, they provide notes and guess papers to students, becoming helpful in achieving higher marks in the examination. This framing has some implications for the education system in Pakistan because this can attract parents and students who are after good grades. However, extra coaching hours and methods used in academies may inhibit students’ creative and critical skills, thus damaging the bases of economic development in Pakistan. This study based on qualitative paradigm and sample size was less, it is suggested that data should collected from large sample size so the findings are generalizable. It recommended that the government should regulate and monitor private tuition, so it helps to seek the best practices for both private tuition and mainstream schools.
