Item The Social Cognitive Context of Teaching in Public Sector Primary Schools of Punjab(UMT.Lahore, 2024) Nokhaiz TahzeebThe purpose of this study is to investigate the application of social and cognitive approaches to teaching practices in public sector primary schools of Punjab. Based on Bandura’s social cognitive theory, this study focuses on the influence of observational learning and investigates how modeling behavior, attention, retention replication, and motivation improve learners' social and cognitive development. The study highlights various challenges, including limited resources, overcrowded classrooms, and insufficient training on modern teaching methods, which are prevalent in public primary schools of Punjab. A phenomenological approach has been applied to explore the perceptions and experiences of primary school teachers within a social-cognitive context. Where education for females is considered a taboo. Just 25% ghost schools are available without function and facilities. The individuals of rural areas of Balochistan intensely obey their cultural values, where males are considered as the guardian of their families. Men have authority and the ability to make decisions for their women in patriarchal cultures. Women are only allowed to live in their homes in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtoon Khaw, and they are not allowed to make any decisions of their living (Anwar, S. M., Khan, A. A., & Sardar, Q. (2023). Additionally, Women's rights are violated. The ability to handle digital risk issues requires the development of digital resilience. This research aimed to identify the determinants for building digital resilience among adolescents, while facing cyberbullying and assess their digital skills, coping strategies particularly in building digital resilience in (Lahore) Pakistan. This study seeks to explore the experiences of women who attempt suicide in Balochistan, identify key risk factors, and shed light on the social, cultural, and economic barriers they face.Item IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AND WELL BEING(UMT.Lahore, 2024) Maryam LiaqatClimate change presents substantial difficulties to global educational institutions, affecting infrastructure, health, and academic achievement. This study endeavors to examine the effects of climate change on higher education in Pakistan, evaluating factors like smog-induced air pollution, irregular rainfall patterns, rising temperatures, and their effects on university infrastructure, student mental health, and academic routine and academic performance. This was a cross-sectional survey based study that included 300 students from a private university in Lahore. Researcher gathered quantitative data by administering structured surveys to evaluate students' knowledge of climate change and its perceived effects on their academic schedules, academic achievements, health and well-being. This study assesses the level of cyberbullying experienced by college girls and analyze its impact on their emotional well-being and academic performance.Item Social Media Usage: Changing Inter-Generational Relationships in Pakistan(UMT.Lahore, 2024) Syeda Ume FarwaThis research investigates the association between social media usage and intergenerational relationships among university students at the University of Management and Technology (UMT). Utilizing a convenience sampling method a sample of 210 was surveyed. Two established measurement tools were adapted: one for assessing social media usage and the other for evaluating the quality of intergenerational relationships. Data were analyzed using SPSS. Findings reveal that a significant majority of respondents engage with social media for various purposes, including maintaining connections with relatives, job searching, and managing personal stress. However, the frequency of usage for developing social identities or sharing news was lower. Analysis of intergenerational relationships indicated that most students reported a close relationship with their parents, often seeking their reassurance and feeling abandoned during periods of separation. Notably, respondents expressed a willingness to prioritize their parents' needs over their own, reflecting a strong emotional reliance.Item CHILD CARE STARTEGIES OF WORKING WOMEN IN LAHORE(UMT.Lahore, 2024) Shezza SaleemThis study is based on the Grounded Theory of qualitative research. By this method, we explore a participant’s in-depth views, social actions, and experiences of a participant. In this study, my participants are working women and all belong to the teaching profession. 10 participants are involved in my study but after 7 interviews I got my saturation point. Open-ended and semi structured questions and interviews are conducted. Thematic analysis is used to analyze the results. Based on these 7 participants, I obtained 4 main themes by coding and probing their experiences, views, and gestures, such as child care and its services, family support, challenges as working women, and strategies to access childcare. Because more women are entering the professional workforce, effective childcare strategies are necessary to help women balance their employment with their parental responsibilities. The goal of this study is to provide readers with an in-depth understanding of the childcare strategies employed by contemporary working women. The study looks into the various tactics used by professional women to get over the challenges associated with child care. This study highlights the crucial role of social media in constructing contemporary prevalent beauty standards among females at a private university in Lahore Pakistan. For this purpose, twenty females aged between 19 and 25, participated in this qualitative research study. The data was gathered through in-depth interviews using open-ended questions and a purposive sampling technique. During the interviews, all the participants expressed disagreement with the beauty standards promoted by social media, highlighting reoccurring themes.Item IMPACT OF FLOOD DISASTER ON THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE(UMT.Lahore, 2024) Khuram LatifWhile “global warming” describes rising average temperatures, it does not fully capture the broader and more complex nature of climate change. Flood disasters are a significant global phenomenon with devastating impacts on communities. Flooding occurs when high-intensity water flow breaches natural and man-made barriers, leading to widespread destruction of homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods. The August 2022 flood disaster in DG Khan, Pakistan, provides a significant case study of the complex impacts of natural disasters. The catastrophic flooding, driven by melting glaciers and intense monsoon rains, led to the destruction of approximately 897,014 homes, widespread economic loss, and considerable human casualties. This study investigates the impact of the 2022 flood disaster on the lives of people in DG Khan, Pakistan. The purposive sampling technique and involved 15 participants, both male and female to get detailed insight about the effects of disaster on the lives of the people living in DG Khan, Pakistan.Item Predictive Model for the Analysis of Climate Change in Pakistan(UMT.Lahore, 2024) Rai Tooba ManzoorA forecasting model has been developed to examine the current and anticipated climate change trends in Pakistan, as presented in this study. The information contained in this study is obtained from reliable sources such as the World Bank and World Meter databases. The experiment was conducted using the R programming language, facilitating the processing and visualization of extensive environmental data. The main objective of this study is to contribute significantly to the understanding of climate change in Pakistan. Using data insights, this study aims to provide policymakers with valuable insights that can be used to develop effective strategies to address and respond to the consequences of climate change.
