The word street defines the property of others that comes in contact with the wanderers to ruin it for their satisfaction. No matter what others will remark over it, the thing which matters is the fame of sketching out the street as an art. While the word stencil means to mold with whom is possible to create an image on some flat surfaces by allowing the color to reach that surface with the gaps in it. Stenciling is a way of creating pictures or text on surfaces.The gang of those who want to represent either their feelings or to demoralize other’s space to spread either awareness or fear to others but in end, the main essence is to burn-out their satisfaction through art details. Silence is the real killer in every aspect of life, the main central idea came from the art of breaking out the silence through the reflection of art on the streets. It can also be said as the public art, Public art is that art in any media that has been planned and executed to be staged in the physical public domain, usually outside and accessible to all. Public art may include any art which is exhibited in a public space including publicly accessible buildings, but often it is not that simple. The people sketching out the details on the street walls called their art as “writing” and they called themselves the “writers”. Detailing out the concept of the street stencil wanders to the details of hidden perspectives of freedom by breaking out the silence to speak either by lips or through art. History defines those writers as the criminals, as they do their art devotions by wearing a mask to avoid themselves to come in notice of others. Silence can kill the emotions, expressions, and happiness of a person, therefore, the sketch that has been drawn through this is to highlight the inner comfort and satisfaction of emotions, thoughts, and self-motivation through art representation on the streets. The main sketch line of the concept is to never hide the emotions and expressions, as the speaking is the real power to specify your worth to others. The research aims to design two garments which will symbolize the “Breaking the silence out” theme. So these two garments can be considered as the core outcome of this thesis. All the details regarding the creation of these garments will be narrated in the flow of this research. For the sake of the creation of these garments research boards, mood boards, color palettes, and every insightful related aspect has been discussed under the methodology.Item Rover over(UMT.Lahore, 2020) Hira NematWandering in an abstract or irregular way in the surroundings is the literal meaning of rover over. Rover over is all about the expression of self enhancement either through body gestures or body accessory. It can also be said as the impression of self-confidence and dare to do the stance that is said at first. Rover explains the sense of wandering around in a very free style of relaxation for the ease of body and mind to explore the world through a meditation essence. The essence of meditation makes the mind able to explore that vision of the universe that can be handled with the normal sense of vision. While the word Over defines the sense of exaggerated spares carrying around to have more space for more exploration. The space can be of anything in the surrounding like area, healthy mind, unbeatable words and the sense of thinking over to the matters. Most commonly the space is taken as the area to keep something. When it comes to the self-relief, it carries the most sparkling depths of the human sense of emerging anything into the soul and body. The central ideabehind this expression came from the warrior abstract as they keep themselves more comfortable fromtheir minds as well as from their body in order to keep more area and space to fight out their battles orrivals. For the base of inspiration, the idea came from the Vikings. The word Viking is not taken as an inspiration from the movie or comic. It is taken as for the historical figures based on the facts of bravery and self-competent to hold on their lives with their own potential. As a Viking was someone who went on expeditions, usually abroad, usually by sea, and usually in a group with other Vikingar. Vikings were explorers, traders and extraordinary craftsmen. It is by virtue of their shipbuilders and weapon makers that the Vikings were so successful in raiding. From this basic ideology, the central point of main concept derives that explains the essence of bravery, dreams and self enhancement. The concept behind taking this theme is the passion, the craziness of a person for something no matters what you have gone through to get that but still you got to stick on it until you get it or die. All of this courage and definite power of doing anything came from the expression of easy mind soul and body without any stress. Therefore, here comes the term of meditation for the enhancement of the courage and bravery to think over the real meanings of life with the keen observation to the depth of life and its worth. The details of the concept into the collection, express the more space abstract with the essence of soft touch details to the body with the highlights of exaggerated major details into the collection. The soft details to the body relies over the comfort level of the skin with the expression of easy moveable body to keep in moving without any distraction. On the other hand, the exaggerated details onto it, meant to add on more space over to it, to keep on many things into levels for the survival and the impression of setting a symbolic representation. Vikings were the people who used to wear wool, linen and animal skin. From that concept the fabric relating it to the leather has been taken for the sole expression of the body. Vickers used long tunics and trousers for themselves, therefore in order to make the presentation related to the Vickers, the details of it contains those trousers and pants but they have been added the essence of modernity. Modified to short dresses and with those large number of pockets with abstract impression on them, showing the ideology of having more space for the Vickers so that they can carry more stuff along with them for the survival in the crucial circumstances.Dress detail are of that exaggerated and enlarged pockets and so giving a modern touch by adding extra details or layers over it. This is done so, to relate it to the concept of storing the goods to keep on moving without any hurdle on the way. The impression of Brown has been made idealized for it along with the different shades of it to highlight the vision of the right way to rover over acceptance. As they are the earthy people so to show their relation and for the sake of the modernity, it has been made into dual joint to make its worthy and reflective. To make it more sophisticated and elegant look, the vision has been made in connection with one color and its different shades from the hues to the saturation, just to highlight the ebb and flow going into the reflective life of Vickers. The small details and highlight placement is somehowrelated to the Vickers but it carries more of the modernize look of a Vickers’s which could be now a days become more popular and more demanding one look. Most of the people looking for such type of attractions will go for it to carry and to give it modernize and modified look by the add-on of short cut lines into it. All in one concept explains the unity in single boundary that will enhance the inner power and strength of a person to explore the world with more comfort. Ragnar was the inspiring personality for me to work on this as it shows how a person fight to follow his desires. As the desire is the only thing that a person cannot compromise throughout the life and keep on making effort to have it. The way that person lived the life makes more confident to express and keep the feelings in a single space with the right thoughts and right expressions. That is why, all in one subject defines my ideology of rover (wandering) in over (extra) way.Item Revelation of Hiking(UMT.Lahore, 2020) Ayesha IshtiaqHiking is defined in The Merriam-Webster as “to walk long distance especially for pleasure or exercise”. There is different type of hiking such as, day hiking, summit hiking and long distance hiking. Hiking is something you are travelling from the bottom to the upper level smoothly or by facing some difficulty. Hiking can be dangerous depending on the track chosen by the hiker. The people who used to go for hiking or used to explore the world or country. They used to take different surviving material with them. It inspired me that how they explore different places and survive there without any comfort. Hiking must have some essentials which are necessary. The purpose of this project is to develop such garments which will help the hikers to carry less equipment that can be portable and easily transformable. The hikers carry all the things in a single backpack which is heavy to carry. Many types of equipment are made for hiking before such as camps boots bags etc. This project is to study what are the basic requirements of the hikers. Than to make such patterns and clothing which will be able to be transformed into different equipment tent, sleeping bag, backpack etc. The project will be done in order to fulfill the requirement of the hiker that he needs while hiking. Thus in hiking we need the clothes that are warm and water proof, so seen and parachute fabric can be used in making the garments. The project will be based on jackets and different style of coats that can be convertible into different equipment for hikers. This will be a helpful project for the hikers to wear such a thing that is comfortable and can be easily transformed into their needs. This project will give a new side for hiking that will be much easier and comfortable than before.Item Bipolar disorder(UMT.Lahore, 2020) Aleena GulMy theme is fluttering by butterfly. Basically fluttering means moving unevenly while butterflies are the representation of hope and life. Most of the cultures connect it with theirs souls. Every culture has its own point of view about butterflies but many of them view the butterfly as life, hope, change and patience. There are many types of butterfly but I am targeting Riodinidae. These butterflies are small to medium sized species. The shape of the wings is comparatively different from other butterflies. These butterflies mostly consist of blue, green, red and black color. Riodinidae is very general for its metal script. It consists of golden and silvery metal marks on its wings. It is naturally found in tropical latitude (especially of America). Over 1300 species are known for this specie. The main and female butterflies are somewhat dissimilar form each other. The male butterflies have small legsfrom front that are not for toddle. Fully developed butterfly broaden their wings open at the same time other tropical species secure their wings on leaves. I for myself love butterflies. They are a usual gamble. Butterflies were elegant in the 1950‟s and 60‟s where designers used the unpretentious wings in decorations. At the moment, Kate Spade and additional designers are fetching the butterfly motif inverse into fashion. It is currently feasible to realize butterfly metaphors on computer covers, textiles, outfit jewelry, mode, garnishing and home decor. They‘re energetic, remarkable, slight so far physically powerful. When I perceive butterflies, they make me experience glad, luminosity and spacious creating an otherworldly consequence. Trashion is a gate by which we can know that the waste can be reuse and recycle the things, which we are going to throw in different ways. Trashion is fashion clothing, which is made by old and reusable material. Trashion is basically changing the way we all think about waste and is not important to us can help save our planet. The perspective here to considers specific objects; I am specifying the trash of jute. The texture of jute and its long lasting quality inspired me. Jute fabric basically comes from the jute plant which has a harsh feel. I used the perspective of inner-urban of late 1970s and1980s Do-It-Yourself. This includes practice of Do-ItYourself furnishing, clothing, decoration, etc. That’s why I highlight the fashion of reusable fabrics. The objective of this project is to work with creativity in fashion and Sustainability. By making outfits from recycle materials people will be able to modify junk into attractive and Wearable while dropping trash. To reuse jute into wearable yet fashionable garments. With collaboration of different reused clothes fabric such as denim, flannel, jersey etc. Plan will be executed by the softening Process of jute so it can become wearable, further the design of garments will be executed on the soften fabric of jute and by reusing the old cloths with it. By using different types of artist material to decorate and embellish the dresses in a unique style with respect to trash. This project will help our industry to reuse different fabric, which they think they are not be able to use again such as jute, into wearable garment. It will also help people to reuse and recycle their old cloths into new designs and new looks. That will be wearable and looks nice to the sight. The project will be refashioning the old garments into new and beautiful wearable garments.Item Visual perception of forms(UMT.Lahore, 2020) Saman IftikharAn attraction toward the night and darkness is analogue to feeling peace in the dark. Those people who love to spend time in the night without the care of world because they think that in the dark no one is going to judge them. They always feel peace in the beauty of night, the moon is always there for them they set under the dark sky and tell their story to the moon and counting star make their heart and mind relax. This is not a disease because it’s a human nature to get attracted by certain things that provide him/her peace. My main purpose to work on this project is to aware people about this condition because I have also experienced this situation. Certain people just think they love to spend time in darkness, but they don’t know it has some scientific term that called nyctophilia. To spend time in the night without the care of world is so positive and peaceful hence I am showing the positive side of this theme. To accomplish this, different boards are designed such as Research board, mood board, forecast board, concept board. Surface design sample are developed such as embroidery sample, embellishments sample and screen printing sample. The garments will be designed for the women wear. In these garments I will show the concept of the darkness. The theme will be shown by black fabric, laces and design elements. My expected outcome is to design the haute couture garments yet wearable, comfortable and useful with unique cutline and motifs.Item Bold and beautiful(UMT.Lahore, 2020) Sumia KhadimAcid Attack (AA) or Vitriol Attack is a manner of brutality relevant to the deed of slinging an acid or corresponding destructive material targeting another person body to disfigured or kill. The word “Bold” meaning a dauntless courageous personality who is prepared to take steps or danger of every type. Bold and Beautiful is a term which will be use actually for Acid Attack victims to encourage or motivate them to push ahead after the big detriment of their lives. It is a smart way of bringing sufferers towards life. Acid Attack is an actually a social concern which can also cause physiological, and economic problems. It is a chemical violence. According to Organizations, 80% of the sufferers are women so my thesis collection based on women's wear. This issue persuades me to beautify their dressing in a skillful and creative way. For the Acid Victims, Every type of fabric is not acceptable for their burn body parts. Therefore, use of Bee Wax finishes in their dressing or Bee Wax finishes pads behind their dressing facilitates them healing their bruises. It would definitely feel fresh and give soothing effect.Application of Bee wax finishes on fabric would be better for Acid sufferers due to the fact that of natural properties of Bee Wax adds whoever; Antimicrobial Antibacterial Antifungal Edible/ safe to eat (used in food industry) Waterproof Skin care Moisturizing/ Hydrating Supporting bruise healing Keep safe the hives with a disinfectant fence Better even when burned Eco-friendly The ambition of project is to use the technology and nature as source material for modifying and design of fabric for collection, and also: To select suitable materials for design projects. Thesis project concentrate on different cutline products of women’s wear, which is full of handcrafted, functional and feasible nature (experimental). Utilization of different modus operandi makes effort meaningful. The main intention of this project is to incorporate technical textiles to develop Haute-couture yet wearable. The purpose is to create garments by using finishes such as garments having techniques for Acid retardants. To share the importance of Bee wax finishes in textiles to the public. By using smart Textile Technologies, offer new means of expressiveness and functionality. The thesis enterprise will create unparalleled variety of designs, which was never viewed ahead. They will associate with the future trends of the market, with the implementation of various methods; captivate the person attention with its unmatched design development and fabric manufacturing. Furthermore, this project will give awareness of technical fabric manufacturing for acid retardants, the method of development and utilization in daily life for sufferer. This thesis shows a complete struggle to make victims to feel better and give a soothing effect to the viewer’s eye. I have been using fusion of concepts like 3D forms, hand crafted floral. Major motive behind thesis is to give hope, positivity and self-confidence through fashion to the acid victims to move on from their despondent phase. As Ressell said “the greatest challenge lies in changing peoples’ mindsets and attitudes”. No doubt it is hard but life is continues so never slow down, moving forward continuously. The artwork contains illustrations, pattern design, draping, mocking, fabric sampling, fabric manipulation, digital prints as well as Embroidery and Embellishment sampling.This paperwork documents the inspiration and determination in creating the work. It also documents the procedure, and details of the logical and the conceptual evolution of the project. By increasing awareness of gender issues, the research has shown a tendency to take a look at the value and identity of women in the world.Item Chrysanthemum(UMT.Lahore, 2020) Sharmeen FatimaThe word 'Chrys' meaning golden and 'anthemon', meaning flower. Chrysanthemums are also known as mums or chrysanths they are the natives of Asia and northeastern Europe. Chrysanthemums are daisy-like flowers with a typically yellow center and a decorative pompon. Chrysanthemums often symbolize optimism and joy. Prior researches proved that Chrysanthemums can be used in various medicines to treat chest pain, high blood pressure, diabetes, and even cancer. Breast cancer is cancer that forms in the cells of the breasts and its victims are mainly women. Breast cancer has five stages starting from stage 0 to stage 5. According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), The chance of any woman dying from breast cancer is around 1 in 38 (2.6%). It is considered as the 2nd leading cause of death among women all around the world. In Pakistan, the reason of death through this disease is the lack of awareness and essential measures. In my opinion, the reasons why females in Pakistan die and continue to suffer Breast Cancer are Awareness and Inappropriate/Inadequate measures. This project aims to create garments for the sufferers of breast cancer as an effort to raise awareness and recognition for women, to reduce the stigma of breast cancer through education of fashion technology, and to take all potential precautionary measures to prevent the victims from more harm’s way. The fashion industry’s renowned names such as Ralph Lauren, Estée Lauder, and Beauty blender, are putting a spotlight on this issue. The brands are launching products and pop-up shops to donate funds to organizations like the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Therefore my goal is to thrive to raise awareness for all the sufferers in Pakistan, that there is still hope for them. I desire to invoke the “Will to live” in victims through the garment(s) designed with my idea being proposed. The designing of at most two garments which are based on the desire to invoke, “Will to live” will be the core deliverable provided by the end of the research. The history belongs to each zodique and it also impact in our life as according the movement of stars change. There are 12 zodiac signs each one has Particular history with their specific animal traits. Personally, I choose Aries (belier) to work on my thesis Aries (belier) is the first zodiac constellation sign that known as ‘ARIES’, it represent the ram horns which is the cardinal sign and located in the northern hemisphere, a fire element. There is a Greek history mythology of RAM Golden Fleece that gives us knowledge about how the star Aries comes what is the story behind this the source of knowledge for us from decade 2500 years ago the time of Babylonians. The key factors is to be strong, determined, leadership, creativity, confident, competitive, passionate, explorer and energetic. I inspired from this specific star because it relevant to my own personality The main objective of my project is to enhance the fashion and textile skills. In this I use to build art, creativity and some traits as a source material to merge it with the textile based ‘RAM’ animal for understanding experimental horn shapes, bold style, and rich design felt fabric and fur. • To convey the knowledge in textile field • Present it with different experimental techniques • To convey my work through different silhouette’s and designs • To merge the RAM animal fur and felt with plastic (pvc) • Create an elegant fashion based garments by using flashy cutline and making it functional use. The plan of my work is to merge the fashion and textile skills to form a garment which is based on both techniques, my work criteria is done on wool (animal fur of RAM) to use it with the specific Aries star traits. Second step of my work to give my garments an experimental look so I choose plastic (PVC) to merge it with the wool. I use different fashion techniques to make my work effective. The outcome of my project is to generate a unique design, which was never seen before; using different fashion techniques utilize horn cutline shapes. Merge plastic with animal fur, which is detachable to garments.Item Tropical(UMT.Lahore, 2020) SEHRISH RAHMANThe Tropical theme is related to the glistening sunlight and steamy atmosphere. It had Soothing Wonders in it. Deep green dark jungles contain a wide range of materials. It can be explained as the sun shone directly on the tropical area but as it was a vivid jungle of mountains the rays of the sun looked like to be in a turning back position. Lavish Trends, green leafy branches with aromatic flowers make good designs for innovative ideas. A world of exotic flora with friendly fabrics can make a good combination. Tropical prints are taking over the summer. The burst of colors and beauty of wild birds provide a great mixture of soothing effects. Greenery provides a complete bright color. One of the reasons to choose the tropical theme was to show the issues caused due to deforestation. About 30% of the earth had been comprised of forests. The wild green plants are decreasing day by day due to deforestation. People stay busy in their busy routines. The workload on their nerves affects them. The hummingbirds are becoming rare with time. So to provide a fresh and peaceful feeling to people tropical theme is being used. The color palette used in this research work was the Pantone’s colors. Those colors were PMS349, PMS320, PMS116, PMS675 and PMS485. The mood of the tropical theme clearly showed the tint palette of natural attractiveness. Those organic colors were truly like botanical wonders. Tropical designs were devised and prototypes had been manufactured through draping and pattern and actual garment had been generated. The leaves of Monstera plant, pineapple trees, and flamingos combined to show a noble design. Crochet work was included in this project. The microscopic view of leaves showed a structure that looks like a structure that we called as crochet. Crochet could be used in garments. It was a handmade design made with friendly fabric. So it provided a cooling effect in summers. Block printing had been used in this research. Hand block printing was a method to form blocks, cover them with dye colors, and start producing different structural designs on fabrics. Digital printing used machines to spread color on the fabric. In the tropical theme, these features had been used to create a proposal. Those were the type of neckline, v neckline, types of collars, ruffles, gathers, pleating, shirring, smocking, spaghetti straps, a-line silhouette, and bow. Hand embroidery was used in the theme of tropical trends. Cross stitches, blanket stitches, French knots, double running stitch, chain stitch, and backstitch were used mixed media had been used to show a glamorous and intricate pattern of embellishment with fine threads work, beaded work, sitari work and zari. Zari work had been used as an embellished pattern made with threads of different colors. Four types of hot couture had been generated for addressing tropical designs. That couture included kid wear for the age group of children under five, three women wear dresses were made. Muslin, shafoon, organza and cotton silk with sheer fabric had been used. Moringa finish had been used in clothes because Moringa is a natural Anti-Inflammatory Agent it kills bacteria, Viruses It can be used for Asthma patients, for skin related problems. It can reduce fine line wrinkles. The objectives that were kept in mind were to incorporate the technical textile into the fabric surface to create haute couture to aware of the fashion industry with the benefits of green lands and to give some useful purposes of technical textiles such as in garments. In Pakistan, 93% of women face sexual violence. In Pakistan a woman is raped in every two hours as per “Human Rights Commission of Pakistan”. There are also many harassment cases recorded in past few years of Pakistan. It is an ongoing issue that needs to pay heed so that there would be some control on this issue. International attention towards rape in Pakistan came after the case of Mukhtaran Mai which was recorded in July 2002. There is lack of awareness and there are many women going through these circumstances but are afraid of coming to the front. My exploration is to contribute for woman of Pakistan who has to face violation, harassment, molestation and rape. My aim is to provide protection by making defensive garments with the essence of fashion aspect which can also portray a strong woman by which she is able to fight in these situations. I am planning to design a collection which will help to secure women and let her fight against any harm provided by the opposite gender. Something that gives a scary yet fashionable look or seems rebellious and unusual. I will use non tear able fabrics such as Kevlar and Dyneema along with strong fasteners which will provide extra strength to the garment. I will make a space for pepper spray to be used as a weapon. Some major things which my garment will have are pointed cutline, sharp silhouettes, crispy and stiff look and will use sharp and edgy material to give reluctant look. For this, I have taken wonder women as an inspirational character which has the attributes that promotes women strength. Wonder women is a warrior born. She has some different attributes, like she is an opinionated, highly competitive, fearless, and focused and a caring character. She is polite in nature but if someone do wrong or teases her she will not tolerate. It is a character which can inspire any woman. So this is the character that can truly explain what kind of end product I wanted to make and actually what I wanted to showcase through my work. There is a lot of literature work present about rape and sexual violence of woman in Pakistan. Many critics have talked about different cases recorded and are questioning that why this matter isn’t taken under view by the authority. According to these reviews there are hundreds and thousands of women that go through this but are afraid to come forward for justice. This literature provides me enough information to make up my mind and pick this topic as my theme. There is no work done by any designer on this matter specifically for defense. But we can see some work of artists and fashion designers that are inspired by women empowerment. But there are no measures taken for women that travels or work at some place and faces these type of difficulties and she doesn’t even have any safety that can help and protect her from these things. Mainly I did not take any inspiration from an artist or designer rather I took my reference direct from the incidence we get to know on our daily basis through electronic and social media platforms. After knowing this matter I go through it thoroughly. There are many cases in which a working woman is subjected and there is no one out there to help them. This provoke me to work or do something for the woman of Pakistan. So I decided to use this opportunity to design and create garments which can help them in such matters.Item Breathe freely In industrial zones(UMT.Lahore, 2020) Qurat_UL_AINIndustrial revolution in World led to spread air pollution in form of factory smoke, and has raised the issue of social relief. Since the industrial revolution, air pollution has been a major problem that affected the World with serious social or global threats. Air pollution is a mixture of natural and manmade substances in the air we breathe. Different causes like rapid industrialization, automobiles, domestic fuels, high proportion of undesirable gases are major cause of air pollution, which have different effects including health of humans and animals, ecosystem, and the atmosphere as whole. I am inspired with the industrial zones that are mostly neglected by the people because of its polluted and tangled structures. It is considered like hell area where it is situated. The idea behind my theme can be converted in the beautiful place of living and working (by enhancing and giving value to this global issues of the community, living inside or around the industrial circles). The main focus is to design (catalytic clothing) for the ecofriendly World. As a Fashion designer, I am going to design ecofriendly fashion collection with titanium dioxide finish that can help in reducing the NOx air pollutant from air. The garments cut lines are multifunctional that can be used to cover face in polluted area and can be wear down in clean air zones. My fashion collection is the mixture of filtered air that create by the industries and other sources in an ecofriendly manner. Simply “what we wear will change the way we live” Air pollution is a major social or global issue of the World. Air pollution kills an estimated seven million people worldwide every year. Science is using different technologies like cyclones, scrubbers, electrostatic precipitators, bag house filters, control of gases, absorption and titanium dioxide finishes etc. to reduce this global issue. We can also reduce this issue by treating the effluent before discharge, the coating of the outer structures with ecofriendly chemicals like titanium dioxide to reduce the air pollution, to reduce the number of trips you take in your car, to eliminate fireplace and wood stove use, avoid burning leaves, trash, and other materials avoid using gas-powered lawn and garden equipment. I want to show the fusion of industrial zones by the ecofriendly way that why I use the materials that are related to the industrial structures for the surface design and colors are inspired by the smoke of industries. I targeted the winter season because of the high creation of smog (mixture of smoke and fog). Main Materials for collection are industrial pipes, tires, boiler shape armature, metal mesh net, polyester threads for smoke, Metal hanging pipes, plastic, dusty threads in weaving, Imagination of air pollutant with tie and dye, Oil painting to show the industrial zones, Smoky fabric manipulation with tie and dye, Laser cutting with layering Metal Eyelet with passing metal pipes, pigment printing with titanium dioxide finishes etc.Item Battle against risk(UMT.Lahore, 2020) Saba RaufAs the name shows firefighter is someone who fight against fire. A firefighter is a person who rescue us from hazardous fire, but even though all fire fighters are trained in that, one’s will play more important part in the rescuing mission. To extinguish the destructive fire meant as firefighting. To fight with these fires and preventing loss of lives, land and the atmosphere is the job of firefighter. To decrease the fire, rescuing the lives, stopping the fire, providing basic first aid to injured ones and investigate that how fire actually started are included in the basic tasks of firefighters. Firefighters are also known as fireman or fire brigades. When any emergency appears like there is a building on a fire, firefighters are always ready and they instantly respond to these emergencies and go to where they are needed to recues people or building or wherever their attention is needed. Firstly, they get rid of fire then they recue people or animals and they also provide basic first aid to injured people or animals too. For doing all of these jobs they need to be brave, have enough courage, and should have enough devotion to their job. Because not only life of people they are saving is in danger but also their own too. So, they should be fearless and bold enough to recuse both people and themselves from danger. Team-work also plays an important role in all of these. They can only perform well if theyare in contact with each other, they have to cooperate with each to recue living beings. How they put themselves in danger to rescue us was really a big inspiration. They don’t think about their lives and are available for us 24/7. So, I wanted to pay tribute to them in a stylish way. Few of the designers also did it before like in New York Fashion Week, Autumn/Winter collection 2018 Calvin Klein paid tribute to emergency service heroes with a sizzling collection. In Gucci Spring/Summer 2020 collection also there were garments inspired from firefighters. “I used uniforms as something that block and constrain you inside codes that make you functional, practical and anonymous,” (Michele, 2020) In my collection, I also paid tribute to these special people who put us before themselves. Even though the inspiration was firefighter, collection did not include basic uniforms, in fact different elements were taken and that’s how the collection was put together. Main objective of this project was to incorporate technical textiles to create haute couture collection. The purpose was to create wearable garments and to give them useful purpose such as garments can be used as fire retardant. One of the garments was designed for a girl aged five years and three other garments were designed for the women. To accomplish this, different boards such as Research boards and Mood board, Color pallet, Digital and manual prints, fabric manipulation, embroidery and embellishments etc. were made. Cotton fabric with special coatings was used to create garments. Firefighters’ uniform is made of three layers. First two layers consist of wool serge and brushed wool while the inner layer is made of cotton. So, cotton was used in the collection as it was more suitable to apply fire retardant finish on it too. The base colors of the collection were orange and khaki. While Black, Red, Blue were used as sub- dominant colors and silver and yellow as accent colors. In embellishments and embroidery, different types of material and stitches were used. This work will be useful for future as it will help reducing the gap between technology and fashion. As now days, we cannot stay away from technology. So, different things were to make a proper and different collection.Item Confectionery fruta(UMT.Lahore, 2020) AYESHA ZUBAIRConfectionery means something which is high in sugar and ‘Fruta’ is an Albanian word of fruits. In 1950 Roy motherhood who was Kentucky ice-cream factory owner invented an ice-cream named after his daughter ‘’Toodie’ which is basically an Italian word “TUTTI FRUTTI”. My inspiration is Tutti Frutti theme which is also a forecast theme. The objective of my work is clear I have merged Tutti fruit with reference of ‘Memphis pattern’ which are geometrical shapes, lines and repetitive objects and so on to make my colors more emphasizing and I have also followed some designers collections that were my inspiration one of them which is very prominent is the collection of a renowned designer ‘Lena Hoschek’. She launched her collection in spring/summer ’19 named “Tutti Frutti” and another designer “Dolce and Gabbana” also launched a collection named Sicilian Tropical collection in which basically they have shown nature through natural fruits. My basic objective is to create wearable garment which can be easily used keeping in mind the haute couture garments. The overall concept of this collection is inspirational based plus it’s a forecast print which is merged with Memphis patterns. And to create 3D look different objects are used for representation. The creativity in this collection is entirely a new concept which will be used to represent the final garments with geometrical shapes, repetitive patterns or prints. So the balance and harmony is important to maintain the concept and create an astonishing collection. The plan of my work is to achieve what I have thought of from the very Confectionery fruta beginning. I have planned to achieve various cutline and specific embellishment and 3d work which have a main part in my garments I will achieve my cut-lines with the help of draping and pattern with the advice of my supervisor. I will also work on how to make them more admirable and how my 3D work plus embellishment can look more suitable My expected outcome is colorful garment with the balancing of colors plus attractive embellishments. My main focus is that ‘less is more’ so I will try to create précised thing keeping in mind the demand.Item Infusion of harajuku fashion and athleisure “posture of elysium”(UMT.Lahore, 2020) Ahtesham NazirThe attitude of representing your blessings under the paradise of one’s happiness is the posture of Elysium. Elysium is a Greek word that simply means paradise and posture simply means an attitude. The attitude here is all about the way of expressing the height of happiness, joy, and comfort to express inwards feelings to feel oneself totally under the wisdom of paradise. The main aspect of the Elysium is the refreshment through colors and the worth representation of inner relaxation through acts either virtual, abstract, or playful, moreover the addition is the visual selfrepresentation of each sole. Elysian is like the home of the blessed ones, the final rest place where a person can express their self-honor, courage, and inner satisfaction of the souls of the pure form. This simply elaborates on the essence of any place or state of bliss or delight. The visual representation of the Elysium is through the colors and abstract details of personalities in an artful way. For this, the basic line of idea has been taken from a street art named the Harajuku, Japanese street art that exhibits their freedom after a struggle from the world war. The Japanese meaning of the word Harajuku is “meadow lodging”. Along with the art of Harajuku, it has been made an infusion with the athleisure essence the specify the look of sporty wisdom of desires and delights. It represents the art of sports infusion with the street style of Harajuku teens. The main concept of this abstract art is the fusion of Harajuku street art funk with the athleisure reflection that comes with an attachment to the collection details. The main central concept is to visualize again the after-war effects of happiness, freedom, and life through the reflection of sports as a victory to centralize the Elysium of thoughts, expressions, and attitudes.Simplified as the expression of real-life art as a race to overcome your fears and tears to feel the life inwardly as a victory of life in the essence of happiness, self-observation and inner satisfaction to owe you own space in your paradise of thoughts.Item Reality of social media “reel vs. Real”(UMT.Lahore, 2020) Rebha Fakher e AlamIn today’s world where there is so much scrolling there is also so much pressure of perfection on people especially the younger generations as they are very easily influenced by all the trending fuss that is there. People now a days are very much involved and invested on social media. The so called “Influencers” are taking over the sole purpose of such platforms by setting unrealistic standards for their followers due to which every other individual feels the urge to look or seem perfect in every visible aspect in order to fit in the society and tries harder than their level which, if not accomplished, creates unnecessary pressure resulting into mild to severe cases of depression and inferiority/superiority complexes among people and that disturbs the mental health and growth. Whereas, the influencers are supposed to be introducing the people with most practical approaches and solutions towards different aspects of life other than showcasing the unreal-ness of the matters. It is considered essential these days to heighten every single thing one goes through or buys in such a show-off manner that the ones that are deprived of the car someone bought and posted about or the makeup someone brought and added a story about makes others feel low for no reason. The makeup and fashion bloggers are also doing very much the same thing. The trend of hashtags is so massively taking over to an extent that in some hilarious yet thought provoking cases some bloggers/influencers wake up and spend a good half an hour on getting ready just to fake a picture of them getting up that way for the sake of using hashtags. On the other hand, the thing that most people don’t take notice of, is that these people are just taking pictures for the sake of posting and so they only show what they want to. No matter how down someone is feeling, while scrolling through so many beautiful pictures of other people one feels like getting up and putting on some makeup just as it is and to cover their sleep wears / lounge wears they top it off with a nice scarf or a jacket, or maybe a shawl no matter whatever ugly stuff they are wearing underneath and just making sure that the picture turns out flawless. In this thesis the focus will remain on the difference between reality and those social media images. This thesis is inspired by the fakeness of social media as it creates so much hype whereas there is nothing to be hyped about in a way because what they are showing is perfection but what they are hiding beautifully is the reality. The purpose is to let people see that reality through fashion itself. This will hopefully ease some minds at least by realizing that nothing can be that perfect and it’s okay for it to be easy and to even have flaws. Beauty must never be standardized in any way, ever. The main objective is to create some extremely attractive tops or jackets which will be hiding the ugly or not-so-great clothes underneath. The jackets will be heavily embellished. The colours most prominently used will be bright and attractive with a combination of extremely dull tones underneath. The digital prints and adda work will be used extensively. The development of designs using fabric manipulation will be experimented. The basic preparation and colour management will be done. My work shall include the step by step procedure that I will be following along the way that shall consist of several attempts on motifs, pattern making and initial manual sketching as well as all the Photoshop attempts. Research boards and mood boards shall be developed and colour palette will also be presented along the final display. Different hand draping techniques will be used that will include mix media and different sorts of embellishments that I’ve been taught during my degree. All of my work on this theme will be displayed in the final degree show, inclusive of the final products. Finally, the work will visually bring along the overwhelming and already ruling power of social media on a common person. The whole objective will be achieved through the various range of products. There will be a total of six products in the final display which will be consisting of two accessories and four main dresses.
