Item AN ONLINE REPOSITORY AND DATABASE FOR CREATIVE ART AND DESIGN STUDENTS(UMT.lahore, 2019) HUSNAIN AHMADWith sophistication and advancement in information technology over the recent years, accessibility of internet is noticeable in almost every corner of the world. In this research, the most significant feature of internet that is emphasized upon is websites. Often the website of an institution is used as major instrument to rate it. Thus, having a website is essential for any major organization in order to ensure accessibility to the members of internet population. In this project, the researcher will design a website for the students and professionals of art and design. The subject is discussed in depth along with various aspects that are related to it. The significance of this research is that the local existing online repository for design professionals is not meeting the standard and requirement of the contemporary design students. As there is no local website available for the students of art and design on which they can save their projects and upload their current and previous projects. At the successful completion of the project the designer will be able to design a website or to design an online repository for the students of art and design on which they can make their portfolios and upload they project. In this way, this project will not only save their projects in an online repository but also help new students in the field of art and design. This project will also give a platform to the local designer in the field of designing. This project will open new horizons for the professional and students in the field of designing to get interlink with the current trends of their related field.Item Body Shaming As “Words can hit hard and wound deeply…”(UMT.lahore, 2019) Hina Umber AkbarIf only you were a bit slim or fair, you would have looked a lot more beautiful. Yes, we all have our own beauty standards and perceptions, in which we want other people to get fit in. Why there is ‘if only’, if someone is looking good just say it. We just pass comment without thinking once that what other people are going through and what will be the results. May be our good compliments can make their day great. We all play an imperative part in the life of people around us by passing good or bad comment on them, or by making fun of their body, features or complexion (skin tone). These concerns are a growing issue among young adult men and women and sometimes they experience sociocultural stress and depression. Dissatisfaction of body image or passing the negative comments on physical body of someone is a serious public health concern that raises risk for a number of other negative health consequences, which includes depression, low self-esteem, and sometimes it leads to substance abuse and suicide. Why we all are so anxious and judgmental about being perfect; in shape and having a fair complexion? We are not supposed to look like celebrities or the ways other think we should. We need to understand the fact that everyone is different, special and beautiful in our own way.Item CAMPAIGN FOR PROMOTION OF EVENT ON PUNJABI CULTURE(UMT.Lahore, 2017) Ayesha AmjadWith the passage of time the essence of the cultures in world is kept revived by cherishing it in different ways. One of which is arranging festivals based on the specific culture’s theme. By arranging such festivals people gather socially and get to know a lot about the specific culture, its background and history and also cherish it at same time. Brands are all around the Pakistan - no matter what we do, or where we. As customers we are bombarded by descriptions of logos and advertising campaign every day. After the development of particular brands, its promotion is one of the essential characteristics of marketing. Furniture and related products are one of the essentials for decorating interior. Where market is already occupied by big brands like Kalamkar, Wing Chair, Fantac Furniture, NM furniture, Ahad Signature Home etc. Those brands run a heavy campaign and are considered the most popular local brands in the market. Herein, and approach to develop the campaign for advertising/marketing of Heaven Furnishers. A good name in a small medium enterprises is tried to be accomplished. Heaven Furniture is the high-end furniture manufacturing company that offers unique ideas for innovative design and high quality products. SattarMy thesis is about the about the iniquitous dowry system and its impact on our society of south Asia – Punjab Pakistan. This thesis compares and explores the lives of women and show different dimensions of their autonomy. The objectives of my topic are to verity the involvement of people in this evil system made by our society but not by our religion. People are forgetting that this dowry system is swallowing the happiness of almost every family mostly in the south in Punjab. The research shows that dowry is destroying the lives of women and affecting them physically and mentally. This is all because of the human greed. Most of the people are involved in this evil system whether they are educated or illiterate. However, very small ratio is against this system. Through my research I want to give a cure of this major problem which will be later discussed in my thesis report.Item Dark Horse “Her Tale of Escaping Depression”(UMT.lahore, 2019-06) Kiran ZafarI believe, the state of being depressed, can be better defined by doctors, a stance where heart goes numb and cold, where mind is covered by thick clouds of darkness. The frame of mind, when love is only found in words, memories haunts, unexplained guilt and undefinable vulnerability where no hand is seen as help and the victim hides himself from the world. Depression can tore people apart that they feel so inaccessible and different from their inner and outer world, and no words can take them out from that trance. In the thick clouds of darkness, hands who are saving you from drowning seems to be evil, hopelessness just blinds the sufferer , it snatched the ability to see and sanguinity. At times, Faith also fails to show the path which ends the sufferings. From young age, we are taught not to cry and weep, as they are the signs of being vulnerable. So, I was raised with the ability of putting a robust shield, to bear the vindictiveness of world.Item Filters and the Shrouds(UMT.Lahore, 2018) Mariyah HussainInternet technology today shows a rapid Growth and social networking sites increase their number of users on each day. This virtual world attracts People of all ages through the applications it offers; But Notably young people are more vulnerable to social networking sites. Graphic design sets your profile and brand apart in a sea of competition, especially on huge platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and snapchat etc. but I want to aware people about the use of animal filters as a human being they should know their worth. This could be shown graphically more stronger than just explaining the facts, work gone through the process from sketches and software’s when assembled will form best outcome in the form of brilliant and different products that will leave the viewer questioned about trailing its own identity weather it’s the person itself or the one having an animal mask. Various visual effects and techniques will catch the viewer’s eye. Images and illustrations designed will be more focused in the series. This study will actually give a tough competition to the designers of all these filters to think at least once that they should have gone for some better filters graphically. Hoe filters are new satanic trend getting popular on picture sharing social networking applications like Snapchat, B612, Insta et cetera. So many of us are using cat, dog, bear, tiger and other animal filters on our pictures and then sharing these pictures on social media. In this way we are not only disrespecting ourselves but also showing ingratitude to our Creator. Sticking the tongue out with no modesty, degrading yourself to an animal, all these acts are done by people in a promiscuous way like it’s attractive or cute. But it’s NOT! All social networking sites are try continuously and vigorously to gain maximum users through different “Tactics”. Social media addiction is increasing in our Country; even people living in remote areas are Familiar with all social sites. The study basically is to give awareness to not only those who are not well aware but to those too who know about this but are using it pointlessly just by seeing others. Strong design or a strong created story has always played an important role to conveying message to target audience and also leave an impact on peoples mind so Illustration or visual based work will aware people to think about what they are doing to their selves. Ironically this degradation pattern is getting more popular among Females as compare to Males.Item GRAFFITI HAS THE FONT OF PASSIONS AND EMOTIONS(UMT.lahore, 2018) WARDA ATTAULLAHIntroduction The period of creative style and artistic skills have existed since ancient times, in Egypt, Greece and the Roman Empire. Graffiti is defined as any type of writing on the wall with the help of paints, spray paints, and marker pens etc. The walls in graffiti are based on highly decorative designs, multiple colors, meaningful messages, and slogans and fancy details that elaborate design with aesthetic sense and emotions. Graffiti art is full of eye catchy images that gain the attention through which anyone's perspective can be changed. From the hands and cans of teenagers, it had taken a form of true artistic expression. Objectives The main purpose and objective is to make exquisite and artistic posters having social and political messages for the teenagers of new generation. The main focus is to develop unique ideas and portray emotional messages through the wall art. The messages will be strongly impactful which will directly hit the mind of reading audience. To attract the new generation, deep bold colors will be used, along with stylish new fonts, attractive compositions and presentable posters. This will result into a modern age banners and can grab the attention of targeted audience to influence them easily. Plan of work The project will be based on complete research work. Deep study and research will result in creating divergent and new sketches and design compositions. Each composition will also be shown through different samplings. Hence, unique styles of compositions will be developed. The whole work will be displayed in the form of digitally or manually printed art, framed according to the compositions. Expected Outcomes A change in thoughts of society is much needed and that can be started with the generation. To create this change Graffiti has the font of passions and emotions: A case study of Peeru’s cafe is a best way to grab their proper attention. Elaborated designs, vibrant colors, unique compositions and new fonts will firstly create seize in teenagers. Later the bold slogans and inspiring images will effect in their thought process resulting a positive change in society.Item GREETINGS; Treasure of Memories(UMT.Lahore, 2018) Sehar UsamaWhy people stop sharing their feelings with sharing greetings? With the passage of time greeting relatives and each other is just a fulfilling of obligation cold heartedly. It’s not just a trend it’s all about expressing feelings with all of your heart to your loved once to greet them through surprise hampers including cards, gifts et cetera and what a delightful feeling is for someone to receive an unexpected greeting. The aim of this study on “Greetings: Treasure of memories” is to graphically revive the old trend of exchanging wishes, emotions, feelings through hand-written cards. The act of exchanging such greeting cards is being demolished from our society and culture; it is basically an art which is suffering due to the technology changes and variations. After passing through hard research process data is collected from various sources. Many printed and e-card designers and their work have been gone through for inspiration. Main objective of the project is to remind the viewers of those beautiful cards through my work, which is a combination of common sense of design, intellect, attraction to visuals and focused design, thinking approach would be smart, functional and elegant designs including the local artwork of Pakistan, captions and taglines consisting of interesting poetry and text to give them local touch, illustrations designed will take you back to the era when we used to share cards at Eid and other festivals full of colors appealing each and every eye to cherish the beautiful new mixture of old and new era to form a beautiful collection of greetings in a new way so that these would make a great comeback through this revival. The use of e-cards which has become common from sometime we need to understand that we don’t have to use it all the time we need to use only when there's need to use or to save time but we have forgotten this beautiful tradition which is surviving and we are trapped in new trends. The main focus of work is to recreate all greeting cards graphically by using artistic skills through a unique color palate and fonts uniquely set to create totally different visual designs by using the software’s and exploring new tools and techniques, which are a basic part of any graphical work. It would be an awareness campaign as well and main purpose is the revival of the lost art of greeting cards in a new way. This study will promote the art of exchanging emotions through paper so that it could be revived, or at least it could remind people how it feels when we received those beautiful cards back in 90s, what’s the feeling of having a wish or message on a paper in your hand as compared to text message or e-messages, the wishes we receive now a days cannot be valued like those cards, we can’t store these texts, but we can preserve our memories in form of cards so that we could cherish those moments after many years they can make us happy and can bring our lost smiles back.Item Iqbal’s paradigm of Shaheen (Eagle)(UMT.Lahore, 2018) Sundas TariqThe aim of this study about “Iqbal’s paradigm of Shaheen (Eagle); an unusual character leading towards the realm of possibilities” is to graphically highlight the significance of extraordinary potentials present in the character Shaheen. Basically Shaheen is an artistic and a symbolic term used by Iqbal in his poetry. It stands for courage, self-respect, purity of soul, devotion, continuous struggle and endurance, prestige, self-control and self-reliance. Iqbal replaced this word with different terms and names in his poetry according to the reference and context like, Mard-e-Mujahid, Derwaish, Qalander, Faqeer and Tahir-e-Lahuti. Each and every term used by Iqbal in his poetry has bottomless wisdoms and attributes. Iqbal associated this character with youth and choose an incomparable and graceful way to convey his message. A lots of books, journals, articles has been studied, sessions and seminars have been conducted for research purpose. After passing through rigorous research, the researcher has discovered about treasures and extraordinary spiritual powers found in the character of Shaheen. The main objective is to determine secretes of self-discovery, and activation of these spiritual forces acting inside the human body. The implementation of these forces on an individual character and then as a collective accountability. Most significantly the study will open the doors of quest and discovery and introduce oneself with its purpose of life and its status in this universe. A strong character of youth is supposed to emerged in the society which leads to the world of possibilities on the basis of power of his strong belief, activation of spiritual forces, Khudi (self-discovery), self-control, the way of Faqar and finally the essence of all spiritual forces ISHQ (divine love). It leads towards the world of miracles, where a man becomes a destiny maker.Item Life after Death (Akhirah)(UMT.Lahore, 2018) Adla KhalidWhat is the determination of our in this world is? Only the mankind destination is this world life and grave? Is there is any Day of Judgment, which assign as never ended life? As human are open in their choice to do whatever they want, they cannot conquer end result conferring to their aspiration but in the day of Judgment human are waged as what they sort out in in this world. We are living in the Muslim state, but why the Muslim are in addiction of corruption and evil deeds? Why Muslim are not sophisticated about Day of Judgment when they are performing virtuous or immoral deed? For the account of all clouds questions, Campaigner will use frequent techniques to generate combination of words, symbols and images to create a visual representation of ideas as well as messages. Along with written work an awareness campaign is to be designed by using some creative and attractive visual effects with combination of strong and attention seeking captions and colors. It is also trying to introduce some unique skills and techniques to present the work that has never been used before. Campaign will be image-based designs in which techniques may include; identity (logos and branding), print advertisements (News Ad and Magazine Ad along with Teaser), posters, Stationary, Brochure, billboards, website, Table calendar, Wall calendar, Show Card, Give away items and graphics. Campaigner would also use a combination of typography, visual arts and page layout techniques to produce a final result. In Sha Allah it will prove an effective, informative and thought provoking for every individual who want a successful life in this world and here after.Item MIRINDA – THE REFRESHING DRINK(UMT.Lahore, 2017) Sara HayatMirinda is here for carefree laugh and out loud partner. Consequently, Mirinda agreed a bold and vibrant color, great taste of orange and sparkling bubbles that energized you quit offering on that one on a chance to be additional carefree, spontaneous refreshed one to be more playful.Item Redbull; Tribute to legends of Pakistan(UMT.Lahore, 2017)Choosing Red Bull in a way that I want to give tribute to legendary players of Pakistan by their past records, as in how they made their country proud with greater energy and motivation. This tribute to legends, lead to youth players to drink Red Bull and boost up their energy to give better performance and continue the chain of making Pakistan proud and recognize their country in the world in a positive way. The variety of flavors launched in the market inspires the youth to drink more Red Bull. Red Bull has also started to make its way into the music and entertainment industry by sponsoring various musical artists and developing feature length sport films that could quite easily be considered art.Item REDESIHNING PAKISTAN’S ADVERTISEMENT CULTURE THROUGH INSTALLATION(UMT.Lahore, 2018) Humda KhanThe aim of this dissertation is to explore new dimensions in graphic design. It is an endeavor to change advertisement and marketing culture in Pakistan through installation art. Indoor installation art will benefit product manufacturers and retailer’s indoor product displays due to installations high-tech appeal. The concept of indoor installation art will encourage local brands to compete with the ideas floating on international level. Refashioning the graphic advertisement culture by experimenting with new concepts of blending art and design to promote products is the key focus of this installation.Item ROLE OF MEDIA IN DEFINING THE BEAUTY STANDARDS FOR WOMEN(UMT.lahore, 2018-12-10) Amna ManzoorIntroduction With the outburst of the epidemics of beauty products, surgical treatments, fitness studios and beauty salons sprouting up at every corner worldwide and thriving so immensely, one cannot help but wonder how and why this all happening is. Whereas at the same time, more and more people especially women describe themselves as insecure, not comfortable in their own skin, fearful of being authentic and vulnerable. Perhaps there is a link between the both. This research is aimed towards finding that link between the two disparities of the condition of our society, where at one hand a vast majority of population has an easy access to a huge variety of beauty products and technologies to make themselves beautiful, and on the other hand the same population is insecure and trapped into a deep state of self-loath and low self-worth. Objective of the Project The objective of the project is to challenge the so called “beauty norms” and provoke the audience to understand the manipulative conditioning through media, art and fashion. The aim is to open their own eyes to the truth and to set them free from the false notions about their own selves. The project shall provoke a critical thinking and to open up minds of people to see how they are being conditioned to a false perception of beauty for the ulterior motives of business mafia. The aim is to celebrate the beauty of individuality, diversity, uniqueness and authenticity. The approach of the project is to showcase strong, bold and in some cases uncomfortable visuals that may cringe those audience that are never exposed to any other beauty standards other than those fed by their black screens and magazines.(Swinson, 2011Item SILK &SILVER CLOTHING AND JEWELRY “BRAND”(UMT.lahore, 2019) ANKA ZAHEERBRAND is an identity. It is a basically a kind of goods products which produces under specific company or institute or a name. A brand is a name or logo or an identity gave to the product or services, such as that it take on an id name by itself. A brand differentiates a good from the similar to other products and its edit to charge on high premium, and in return for a clear the identity and greater the faith in its function, we would defines the Brand as a collection of stable and in stable aspects of design to develop knowledge of identify and awareness among the audience. It is for to make the repute of good, personality, places or industries. Branding has become most powerful source competition strategies for the successful organizations in fashion industry. Brand is design to develop awareness. The creation of brand that are different from the competitions this is the main idea or purpose of branding. There are two main career focused in fashion world: fashion design and fashion merchandising in each of these areas many offers are available to properly motivated and educate individual. Every part of fashion industry is diverse therefore there different titles are used tend to be for same positions. Success in fashion design career requires the ability to conceptualize and produce clothing and accessories. Fashion merchandising fashion marketing and business careers are all popular degrees for fashion merchandizing careers. In the addition of knowledge of trend forecasting qualities and the ability to work in a budget are very important. Most fashion merchandising careers requires excellent negotiation, mathematical and budgeting skills.Item TEACHING OF URDU LANGUAGE FOR CHILDREN THROUGH JHOOLNAY(UMT.Lahore, 2018) Syeda Sidra BatoolUrdu is a beautiful language. It is a stunning blend of different languages including hints of Arabic, Persian, Hindi and even English. It is our local language and we have grown up understanding sonnets and stories in Urdu. Thought process behind picking Urdu sonnets for Illustrations are genuinely self-evident. Urdu language is ceasing to exist; it is just being educated and spoken in Pakistan and India and that too not as much as it used to. India has numerous different dialects and the consideration given to Urdu is separated - the language isn't a need there, the circumstance in Pakistan isn't greatly improved either. The regard and poise of Urdu – which is the national language of Pakistan is being discolored as individuals are inclining towards learning the one widespread language alone and don't invest wholeheartedly in their own social legacy and native language. Along these lines, this little effort is to restore the previous glory of Urdu. As the passing of Urdu Language will bring along the death of our esteemed culture and legacy. We developed the love for Urdu at a tender age when we used to hear the lovely tale of “PaanchChuhay” or the hilarious story of “Tot Batot” by our nannies and daddies. Though Urdu has been a language spoken at our home all the time and it was taught to us in schools with a zeal and enthusiasm. Sadly, the new generation is not being benefited by the charm and beauty of this impressive language. There are many Urdu books which can be probed for the revival of this language. But Jhoolnay holds a special place in the hearts of many generations of Pakistan and India. This book by Sufi Ghulam Mustafa Tabassum is considered as a piece of art in Urdu Literature. It is considered for teaching purpose as many life lessons are revealed in these simple nursery rhymes. So, for the teachings and revival of Urdu Language for children what could have been a better option than Jhoolnay.Item THAPPA “Traditional Things are now At Your Door step”(UMT.lahore, 2020) Aqsa Ali
