Item Aspects of motivation and student self–related beliefs on self-regulated learning(UMT.Lahore, 2018) TAYYABAH NOSHEENA relationship between learners’ motivation, self-related beliefs and self-regulated learning have been discussed where self-regulated learning is perceived as an adaptive process. Learners adapt different learning strategies to attain their desired goals in education. The relationship is presented through a general framework. The framework showed that self-regulated behaviours of the learners can be strengthen by the positive self-efficacy, interest in the subjects, instrumental motivation, effort and persistence, self-concept and self-report of the learners. Self-regulated learners are effective learners who can regulate their cognition and control their learning. Relationship is examined in a correlational study. Learners’ self-regulated learning strategies elaboration, memorisation and control are measured through the self-report of 15-year old learners. 650 learners of the private secondary schools of Lahore are the sample of this study. The tool for data collection was adapted from the research of OECD and Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). The research offered policy-makers a fine-grained analysis of particular learning characteristics. The results of the study demonstrated some areas on which education systems can focus efforts to help students become more effective learners. This urge is dragging the reckoning intellect towards digital literacy in classrooms. Digital Pedagogy is becoming essential for today's education system and generating the demand for understanding the role of digital citizenship. This is why the flipped classroom model is getting more and more attention as 21st-century classroom techniques. In Pakistan, no such method is being used, especially at the school education level. A pilot study was carried out in a local secondary school to measure the effectiveness of digital literacy in terms of flipped classroom teaching. A grade seven science class was purposefully flipped and compared with a traditional teaching classroom arrangement to evaluate the student's academic achievement. The population of the study comprises all male and female 259 students of class seven, the first term of session 2019-20. This study sample was further divided into two groups: two sections of boys (61 male students) and two sections of girls (66 female students) were randomly selected as the experimental group, the flipped classroom. The remaining four sections (132 students) performed as a control group, the traditional classroom. Instructional strategies were the independent variable. Student's achievement grades in pretest, ongoing posttest assessments and term exam were dependent variables. Scores of pretest were compared with posttest ongoing assessments and school term exams. The analysis was made through t-test and ANCOVA. At the end of the thirteenth week, a Likert scale survey was conducted to evaluate the student's perception regarding the learning environment in a flipped class. The results indicated that” (i) there is a statistically significant difference between achievement scores of the flipped class compare to traditional class students. Flipped class students achieved better results than conventional class learners. (ii) Analysis indicated that there is no significant difference in achievement scores among male and female students of the experimental and control group. (iii) Likert scale survey results showed students increased involvement, mutual interaction and in-depth learning in a flipped classroom environment. This study is a contribution to a positive change in the prevailing education system of Pakistan by transferring a deeper understanding of the importance of student-centred learning. The technological tools motivate student of this age to collaborate academically and socially to become self-standing, curious and creative learner.Item Evaluating the effectiveness of promotion Linked training (plt) at dsd(UMT.Lahore, 2022) SAIMA ASHRAFThe purpose of this research study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the promotion linked training (PLT) which aims at the professional development of the primary and secondary teachers in Punjab, Pakistan, conducted by the training institute known as Directorate of Staff Development (DSD). Afterwards, the concept of professional development and its significance was discussed. The need of training for their professional growth was also discussed in the light of past research studies. Current research study employs a mix method approach as a research methodology which is the combination of both quantitative and qualitative data. In this regard, three data collection instruments were used i.e. questionnaire survey, semi-structured interviews and class room observations. The research site in this research study was DSD training center. The data was analyzed using the SPSS software and tests like Pearson correlation, regression and ANOVA were performed. The research findings indicated that, the promotion linked training conducted at DSD is effective in terms of enhancing the professional skills, performance and learning of the trainees.Item Examine the effect of quality assurance on the internal efficiency of primary public school teachers in lahore, pakistan(UMT.Lahore, 2021) SABA PERVAIZThis study investigates the relationship between the effects of quality assurance and internal efficiency of primary public school teachers in Lahore Pakistan. The selection of educational and professional career as per one’s personality, skills, and interest is the key to success in life. Unfortunately, there is no adequate system existing in Pakistani schools for proper guidance relevant to career counseling for the students as per their needs in majority of the schools except some schools who charged high fees. As a result, students choose those subjects which do not relate to their mental aptitudes. Many years are wasted due to this issue, and studies become a burden for students. In the context of Pakistan where literacy rate is low and many people don’t have adequate exposure to different careers and fields, it is difficult for parents to make the right decision for their child and as a result children are forced to study the subjects of their parents’ choice, or they are left at the disposal of others. Due to these reasons there is a need of proper guidance and career counseling for students at school level. The main objective of the study was to explore how schools are providing guidance and career counseling to their students for their better future direction. For this purpose a questionnaire was developed by the researcher. The scope of the study was delimited to all the private schools of Walton area of Lahore Cantt. The participants of the study were school teachers. Two hundred and fifty (250) questionnaires were distributed in different schools of Walton. With the help of SPSS, the researcher computed frequencies, applied t-test, chi-square, analyze the data and interpreted it. The results showed that the schools are paying attention to their students’ grooming and counseling them for their better future but there are some areas that need to be improved which are mentioned in the last section of the study.Item Teachers’ perception on school’s evaluation and school academic effectiveness(UMT.Lahore, 2017) Nida KhalidTeachers’ perception is really vital for gaining some kind of academic performance of an institute. Moreover, matriculation final result data was also collected from Gazette of B.I.S.E Lahore for 2015. 2016 and 2017 for 20 schools whose teachers were sampled in this study. Around 200 questionnaires were obtained from all those schools involved in sampling frame and their responses were tested afterwards on SPSS to perform descriptive, correlational and regression analysis. The results have proved that effectiveness of schools which have self-evaluation system was better than those who don’t have such evaluation system. Schools with self-evaluation system have been found securing more A+ and A grades than the schools with no self-evaluation. Furthermore, the results have indicated that self-evaluation system has a significant impact on school’s effectiveness. This study is significant for both theoretical field and practical field.
