Item EXAMINING THE CORE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR SUCCESSFUL CHANGE MANAGEMENT PROCESS(UMT.Lahore, 0015-02-22) Muhammad Yasir AmjadItem Impact of quality management system ISO 9001 on supply chain performance(UMT.Lahore, 2013) Usman Muhammad IkramThe aim of the current study is to empirically investigate the relationship between quality management system ISO 9001 and supply chain performance. A total of 77 responses were received out which 73 were usable, representing the overall response rate of 15% using snowballing technique and cross-sectional survey design. Data were collected from managers working in the functional areas of supply chain management and quality control/ assurance. Correlation analysis was used to examine the relationship between ISO 9001 certification and supply chain performance. Multiple regression analysis was used to investigate the directionality of the relationship between ISO 9001 certification and supply chain performance. A comprehensive set of measures related to quality management system ISO 9001 and supply chain performance was used to study this relationship. The data collected by the survey clearly demonstrate that ISO 9001 certification has significant relationship with supply chain performance and ISO 9001 certified companies have better supply chain performance in terms of cost containment and performance reliability. The findings of the study contribute in the body of knowledge of supply chain management and quality management; it provides inclusive knowledge on ISO 9001 certification and its relationship to supply chain performance. Data collected from 74 respondents in Pakistan for analyzing the relationship between the study variables.Item Moderating role of Market Orientation on the relationship between Supply chain linkages & Supply chain performance(UMT.Lahore, 2013) Muhammad FarooqueThe purpose of this research was to examine the link between Supply chain linkage strategies, market orientation, and supply chain performance, and to develop a model that describes the relationship among the three. The research studying supply chain management and its interactions with other strategic areas such as market orientation has been scarce in Pakistan. Therefore, a cross-sectional survey using snowball sampling approach was employed which resulted in a total of 84 responses from the managers working in the functional areas of supply chain and marketing in manufacturing companies of Pakistan. A hierarchical regression analysis was carried out to find the relationship between supply chain linkage strategies and supply chain performance using market orientation as a moderator. Cotton is used to make fabric and then by further processes on it, garments are manufactured. Introduce new technology and awareness in farmers can boast up this industry. Garments industry can increase GDP level also if proper importance should be given to it. Pakistan is an agriculture country, but no proper importance and care is given to it. Farmers face many problems e.g. high cost of fertilizer, no cash payment on the spot, bad knowledge about sprays etc. People like commission agent, ginning mill owners and even government body is corrupt. The approach used is case study. Data has been collected through semi structured interviews. Data validity has been done using the secondary documentation and plant visits. The study starts with introduction of VSM and highlights its importance in big as well as small manufacturing firms, offices, service industry and healthcare sector.. It also shows that the previous studies have been done using VSM and significant decrease in lead time was observed. The methodology adopted was case study approach with objective to find out the management of risks in supply chain of potato in a potato chips manufacturing firm, from its crop management program to ultimate consumption at manufacturing site. The findings of this research show that management of risks associated with potato supply is highly critical for the focal company because of agricultural nature. Such supply chain is highly dependent on multiple factors including natural phenomena, which could normally be forecasted but cannot be controlled. The case also illustrates that how risks associated with potato along the supply process affect the business performance. The case also discusses the risk management program, which the company ensures at each stage to ultimately mitigate the risks, ensure continuity of business and deliver performance. The research focuses on the risks and its management in supply specific to potatoes, which proved to be highly critical regarding continuity and performance of business. The significance of agro based supply risk management process and its impact on overall business performance was highlighted in the study.
