| dc.description.abstract | Airports are the main source of travelling in today’s generation most of the people used to travel by air on long distances either they are travelling for vacations, business related work etc. Airports should be friendly to cater the needs of passenger and all this can be done if the controls of the airport is in the hands of a reputed or well organized organization, so all operations at the airport both at the land side and airside should function smoothly and properly. The main concern of our project is to find out that whether it is profitable for the Islamabad international airport which is one of the largest airport in Pakistan, in terms of passenger capacity, capable of serving 9 million passengers yearly in its first phase, to handover it to Pakistan international airlines. This project includes qualitative research and their analysis which helped us to figure out the concerned problems on handing over controls of Islamabad international airport to Pakistan international airline. The problems which were figured out leads us to the serious factor which include current and past financial condition of PIA, mismanagement of PIA, fear of monopoly by PIA at the airport and losses to other service providers at the airport. Moreover after all these problems there are some procedures which should be followed, after which handing over controls of Islamabad international airport to PIA is not a problem. | |
