China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Role of Government in Promoting Tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan
    (UMT, Lahore, 2022) Wajid Karim
This research paper aims to identify the actual role of central government and provincial government in building up sustainable tourism, effective policies, and repercussions of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on the disputed region, both the positive and negative perspective. Whether the projects are well executed or not, But, the disputed resolutions create hurdles towards development in the region. Tourism is the one of sustainable Industries with the highest rate of growth while providing various employment opportunities for a portion of the Gilgit-Baltistan population, particularly for youth and marginalized women. As a result, this helps in reducing poverty and improves the standard of living. Despite its enormous tourist potential, Gilgit-Baltistan's tourism sector has been ignored by the Government of Pakistan (GOP), due to the disputed status of the region. By creating appropriate tourist policies and regulations: the tourism sector may bring revolutionary improvements to the lives of local communities. Furthermore, this research also stipulates basic and valuable tourism knowledge from literature which includes the importance of tourism, the potential of tourism development in the region, and highlights various barriers for tourism development of the region. The research is of qualitative nature. I have conducted an online survey that includes open-ended questions with proper sampling. Finally, this study suggests that continuous monitoring of consequences is required, as well as any necessary corrective actions, to reap the full advantages of tourism for the longest possible time.

    (UMT, Lahore, 2022) Uzma Samman
A trajectory was set up by the turning and powerful decision of the Pakistan Supreme Court for the future of transgender community back in 2009. It is considered as a first step which has motivated the transgender community of the country to fight for their necessities and rights in the country where they are considered as nothing. In Pakistan transgender have faced a lot because they have been always marginalized since independence, the society have always discriminated, rejected them and the community have faced violence, stigmatization and a sense of loneliness which tells them they are alone in the society. Transgender community have never considered as individuals who are also humans like others and have needs this society has always considered them abnormal or threat to the community and this behavior is a year’s practices which have make transgender thinks that this is their fate and they are not going to upgraded ever. The aim of this article is to explore and analyze the impact of transgender act 2018 on the status and condition of transgender community of Pakistan. It also put light on the actors who have played an important role in the bringing the change in the transgender status. The activism which was led by the community of transgender and the other important actors in the last decade has shown that there is a mountain of gains and achievements of transgenders (which were legal). In the present structure of society by the state instead of being called out as outcastes the state is now considering them as a society’s an important part like other human beings and many efforts are being made for their rights

Enhancement of Punjab Police by E-Governance
    (UMT, Lahore, 2022) Samar Sadiq
Pakistan is a developing nation; as a result, violence rates are rising daily, but there is no mechanism in place to identify and apprehend offenders. In Pakistan, here is no mechanism in place that stores and makes info available about everyone. Each nation now considers having an e-governance infrastructure essential. Each nation voter's full document is kept by the e-governance system. If anyone had committed a crime, the database would have all key data about them. In this thesis, I will make the case for Pakistan's government establishing an e-governance framework. The NADRA network would be connected to this one. Police stations will have this system implemented, and they will be capable of uploading FIR in accordance with CNIC. This FIR will stay in place until a conclusion is reached. By establishing this technology in terminals, it would be very beneficial in preventing terrorists from escaping the land. The culprit would be apprehended wherever he uses his CNIC in Pakistan. criminal thugs would also be eliminated thanks to this technique. In this study, the current police system is also addressed. The e-FIR system offers an answer to the many issues with the conventional FIR system. Finally, the topic of obstacles to e-governance in Pakistan was also covered.

IMPACT OF SMOG IN LAHORE AND PUBLIC HEALTH CONCERNS
    (UMT, Lahore, 2022) Danial Nasir
SMOG is a particularly dangerous type of air pollution that has lately been designated a public health emergency in Southeast Asia. This study will describe the negative effects of smog pollution in Punjab and how they affect human health. Since a few years, smog has become Pakistan's most pressing issue. Smog has been affecting practically all areas of Pakistan particularly Lahore, since 2011. When a dangerous environmental event like smog occurs, the conclusion may be riskier than the event itself if people act irrationally due to a lack of relevant understanding. As a result, examining people's attitudes and reactions to pollution is both theoretically and practically important. high rates of pollution from unregulated industries and a significant number of autos on the road all play a role in the rise of deforestation to build new roads and the burning of crop waste has recently added fuel to the fire. Due to a shortage of public transportation, the number of vehicles has increased by 9% in the last five years. This resulted in a regulated patient burden in hospitals and clinics due to acute respiratory ailments, visual irritation, and infections that were inhabited or were moving to the city. Eyes burning, heavy breathing, sneezing, wheezing, and a severe cough were the most common signs and symptoms. The cardiovascular system is also harmed by smog. Smog has no acceptable limits because even fine ozone particles are harmful. Although ultraviolet radiation protects the ozone layer from damage it acts as pollution at ground level and its long-term high ground level can permanently damage lung tissue.

Proper water and sanitation is an important pillar for achieving sustainability as described in Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) “Clean water and sanitation” for all. Everyone needs access to clean water and proper sanitization for a better standard of living. This research uses Clean Water and Sanitation as dependent variable and Life Expectancy as independent variable. The data use in this research is secondary in nature. In analysis, descriptive method and graphical representation of variable is used. For analysis, the data is collected from World Bank indicators. The overall results of this study indicates, only 68% of the population has access to sanitation, while the remaining population relies on open defecation. And only 36% of people are drinking clean water and the rest of the population is drinking contaminated water which leads to many harmful diseases due to which life expectancy is only 67%. According to this study's findings, access to sanitary facilities and life expectancy are positively correlated. But, there is a negative relationship between clean drinking water and life expectancy. The data used in this research is from 2000 to 2020. This research summarizes the challenges of Sustainable Development Goal 6 in Pakistan.
