    Health Information Seeking Behavior and Internet Usage in

    The study focused on investigating the predictive relationship between online health information seeking behavior and cyberchondria severity along with unearthing the relation of factors such as perceived health risk on the former. Also, the gender differences in cyberchondria severity as well as primary caretaking and health status relation with online health information seeking behavior was explored . The results from the survey responses of 214 adults ranging from 19 to 45 years of age in Lahore city selected via convenience sampling from three educational institutes of Lahore, revealed that online health information seeking behavior significantly predicts cyberchondria severity equally in internet users belonging to both of the genders who use internet in this respect. Absence of significant difference was found in the online health information seeking behavior of internet users who are and aren’t into primary caretaking . Similarly, when it comes to the health information seeking behavior of respondents with different levels of health statuses, significant difference was found in comparisonto the good ones with the ones having fair health status. Perceived health risk is positively related to online health information seeking behavior.

    The role of print media for promotion of secularism in pakistan; and content analysis of selected urdu and english newspapers

    The purpose of this study is to find out the role of print media in spreading secularism in Pakistani society. The research aims at investigating the promotion of secularism among the youth of Pakistan through the print media of Pakistan. To serve this purpose, a thorough research has been made. Different interpretations of secularism by the authors and writers from different regions, countries, and religions have been studies and added to get an optimal knowledge of the word and its impacts on any society. To investigate the effect of print media on the reader especially young generation and to measure the change in their thoughts, a survey technique is used and the data is gathered from the graduate and post-graduate students of different government and private universities of Lahore. Quantitative measures have been taken to interpret the facts in the researchthat seeks to discover the effect of the columns on the readers of both languages, Urdu and English. Results of the research have been analyzed through SPSS by applying chi-square technique. Charts and graphs have been used to describe the results of study. The finding of the study may help understand the thinking pattern of the columnists promoting secularism in society as well as knowing the impact of propagating secularism among the youth of Pakistan.Findings of the study reveal that columns written by Urdu and English columnists have profound impact on the minds of the people especially the youth is highly affected by the secular thoughts expressed by these columnists. Thus a state of anarchy and discomfort among the public, in general, and youngsters, in particular, have been noticed in the results.

    Pakistan's Soft Power: Prospects and Limitations

    The contemporary world is shifting its focus from hard power to soft power. This new approach is really influential in bringing stability in the present times. It is largely used in international affairs for progress at national and global level. All developed countries are now particularly paying attention towards building their soft power. Britain, United States of America, China, Russia and India; all big states are concentrating towards soft power since long along with hard power. Pakistan needs to spot on its soft power seriously. Unfortunately terrorism, feeble tourism industry and corruption have already tarnished the soft image of the country worldwide. Pakistan needs to promote its soft image through media, tourism, literature, art and painting, information technology, music and theatre. Pakistan has unlimited things which can be used to offset the dark shadow of the country. The lacking object is the focus on soft power which should be initiated because only it can help to portray Pakistan in a positive way on the global level.
