Item CAPSULE NEURAL NETWORK FOR AUTOMATIC DETECTION OF DIABETIC RETINOPATHY(UMT, Lahore, 2018) RUHAMA SARDARDiabetic Retinopathy (DR) is a disease which becomes the cause of blindness and visual impairment usually in middle-aged patients. It is estimated that over 93 million people are affected by DR. Detection of Diabetic Retinopathy manually is a very time consuming and expensive task, which requires trained ophthalmologists to examine and evaluate DR using digital fundus photographs of the retina. Many researchers are building CAD techniques from many decades for timely detection and reducing the burden of ophthalmologists. Deep learning techniques have boosted the performance of fundus diabetic retinopathy (DR) image classification. More precisely, convolutional neural network (CNN) achieves superior performance to that of the conventional machine or deep learning algorithms. Recently, in November 2017, a novel type of neural network named capsule network (CapsNet) was introduced to overcome the shortcoming of traditional CNN models. In this thesis research, we present three CapsNet architectures with limited samples for five stage DR classification, which is inspired by the simplicity and comparability of the shallower deep learning models. The presented CapsNet architectures were trained using publicly available Kaggle dataset. The experimental results show that CapsNet shows convergence behavior and better accuracy for the complex dataset. For CapsNet by using the kaggle dataset, achieves 76% accuracy, 69% sensitivity, 83% specificity respectively. This can be considered as better performance for such a newly developed model which lack much important information till now. Moreover, we observed that training the CapsNet model requires significant computational resources and its performance falls below the average performance level of CNN. However, we argue that CapsNet seems to be a promising technique for overcoming the limitation of CNN. Further by using more robust computational resources and refine CapsNet architectures, the better performance can be achieved but still, our proposed system can be used to diagnose DR in early stages and assist in the grading of diabetic retinopathy.Item Travel Buddy(UMT, Lahore, 2018) Muhammad Wali and Adnan SagheerWe are living in a global village, where each and every one is connected. We propose a deep learning based multi-class classification method that is aimed to stimulate inventions of smarter systems against malware intrusions. Methods for malware detection are pretty much based on signature and heuristic. We use an image representational approach that has yet to be used on the Microsoft dataset. Our methodology revolves around the static analysis of hexadecimal values of a malware file. The proposed method uses a hybrid form of approach which uses Haar- like features. These features are extracted by applying Voila Jones algorithm. Subsequently Local Binary Pattern Histograms is used to train on these features. The data used for experimentation is obtained from Yale University. It includes normal as well as face that are difficult to identify. The difficulty is due to varying amount of light and variation in poses. The distinguishing feature of proposed approach in comparison to conventional approaches is found to be stable and highly accurate. On top of it, it increases the number of images (frames) processed per second. This frame rate, is observed to be 40 which is quite high when compared with the conventional approaches.Item AutoCart(UMT, Lahore, 2018) Kanwal Ghani, Rumat Tahir and Hassaan MahmoodThe main purpose of AutoCart is to automatically transfer things from one place to another and minimize human effort of doing it. On commands of the owner it will reach the destination autonomously on a pre-defined map. It will wait at the destination for a certain timeout and will leave the place when timeout comes or by a command. Remote operation is achieved by any smart phone with Android Operating System upon a GUI based touch screen operation. It requires lot of paper work and data is incomplete, stored information is missing or lost, information is redundant, and many more problems. This causes various type of problems like when some information is needed it takes too much time to find it, the redundant information found is conflicting. Any hospital needs and performs the function of storing, managing and retrieval of information that could be of some patient, staff or doctor, so all the information should and must be managed in such a way that these operations (mentioned above) can be performed easily and this system will be more conventional to do so. We are developing an online web application keeping records of the operations happening in the hospital. It is designed to replace the manual paper system. This system will consist of Patient (in-patient & out-patient), Doctor, Appointment management system, Laboratory system, and Billing management system. Following are modules of system: registration, appointment, prescription, and laboratory. System registers new patients, doctors and receptionist. The diagnostics details of patients are stored and can be retrieved upon request. The patients can go to the laboratory for further tests as prescribed by the doctor. System will provide a platform for patients to make an appointment view prescriptions and tests and their results to both the patients and doctors both. So patients don’t have to visit the doctor again and again. Doctors can view tests results and take further actions regarding patient care. Patients can give feedback about the doctor and his treatment effects (positive or negative), and also give rating to the doctor. People have to wait in queue for hours just for the reservation of the table. This application will solve this problem. Our application gives choice of variety of foods, cuisines and options. Customers will be able to view the address, menu and location of the restaurants. Basically two applications are been made. Customer side application and restaurant side application. Customers will be able to view the details of the restaurants which will be provided by the restaurant side in the restaurant application. Web end is going to handle all the operations at the back end. Restaurants request will be accepted from the admin panel. All the data will be stored and managed on the web end. Reports will also be generated. Web end is going to provide services to both the customer and restaurant applications. This Restaurant Table Booking Application is going to solve our problem of reserving table during weekends.
