Several social enterprises have been established all around the world to promote social entrepreneurship and lower women’s social and economic exploitation through financial and non-financial support.Item Ethical Leadership and Implicit Institutionalization of Ethics Intervening Role of Moral Self and Moral Voice(UMT, Lahore, 2023) Khawar SultanaThis study is an initial attempt to analyze the relationship between ethical leadership and institutionalization of ethics in an organizational setup. It has been observed, on the basis of available literature and previous contributions by management practitioners, that ethical leadership influences the process of enacting ethical culture across organization. Ethical leadership is also found to be impressing the personal factors of employees that further ensures the ethical behaviour of employees. While prior research has examined the process of value co-creation and co destruction in the context of customer participation in technology innovation, much of this work has focused on the manufacturing and high-tech industries. This qualitative study contributes to the body of knowledge by examining the processes of value co-creation and co-destruction that occur in the context of customer participation in technology innovation.Item THE STRATEGIC IMPACT OF UNCERTAIN BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT AND ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET ON BUSINESS PERFORMANCE OF SMALL RETAILERS IN PAKISTAN(UMT, Lahore, 2023) ANSAR WASEEMIt is well-established that Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are critical for the economic and social growth of any country. The issue of survival and growth of SMEs is closed linked with their firm’s performance. Different strategic perspectives have proposed suggestions for enhancing the performance of firms, and these perspectives have also been applied to the context of SMEs. The composition-based view is a newly proposed strategic perspective that focuses on the performance of SMEs operating in emerging economies. This perspective is developed specifically for SMEs and pays attention to the contextual factors of SMEs. However, the central tenets of the composition-based view have not been subjected to empirical examination. The current study aims to investigate the effect of composition-based strategy, and its components, on the performance of SMEs. In addition, this study aims to investigate if an entrepreneurial mindset and an uncertain business environment modify the effect of composition-based strategy on the performance of SMEs. It is proposed that compositional-based strategy, and its three components i.e. compositional capability, compositional competition, and compositional offering, positively influence the performance of SMEsItem IMPACT OF FINTECH MERGER AND ACQUISITION ON THE PERFORMANCE OF ACQUIRER BANKS AN EVIDENCE FROM DEVELOPED COUNTRIES(UMT, Lahore, 2023) Quratulain AkhtarFintech startups symbolize a radical transformation in the financial industry that provides technology-based financial services. These newly formed business organizations use digital technologies such as computers, the internet, mobile, and data to innovate and facilitate. By ramping up the transaction speed, transparency, and reaching out to the areas that are unserved by the traditional banking sector, fintech start-ups refashion the customer experience of financial services, thus creating tough competition with formal incumbents such as banks. Banks are working on various strategies to deal with these new competitors, one of which is to buy them. So, this study focuses on mergers and acquisitions (M&As) between banks and fintech and the impact on the performance of the acquirers in the period 2010-2020. The paired sample t-test and GMM analysis indicate a significant positive impact of fintech and bank M&As on the accounting performance (return on assets), liquidity, financial leverage, asset quality, and capital adequacy of banks but a negative impact on the market performance of banks in the long runItem Exploring the Exemplary Role of Agile Operant Resources in Facilitating Firm’s Sustainable Performance of Family Owned Businesses in Pakista(UMT, Lahore, 2023) Mehreen WaheedPurpose:- This dissertation intends to explore the hidden agile operant resources and the attributes of the family business owners that leads to the firm’s sustainable performance through four dimensions i.e. strategic orientation, stakeholder’s partnership, business model innovation and profitability. This research has proposed the hierarchy of agile operant resources that drive the firm’s sustainable performance. Finally, the resources which are used to handle the paradox of family firms are also discussed
