Item CONTRASTIVE STUDY OF BEHAVIOR VIA TWEETS BY FIRST AND SECOND WAVE (COVID-19) ON A NOVEL DATASET(UMT.Lahore, 2021) MUHAMMAD WASEEM TARIQNowadays, recognizing sentiments of the people become a foremost challenge. To address this issue researchers conducts sentiment analysis in different domains. Social channels like twitter provide essential information for emotional analysis. In modern era, researcher perform behavior analysis by means of data sciences. In this thesis, sentiment analysis has been performed on tweets related to COVID-19. Our aim is to analysis two phases of coronavirus, targeted date are 1st April to 30th June for the 1st wave and 20th Oct to 20th Dec for the 2nd wave. The BERT model is utilized to process the data set. The key goal of this study to provided contrastive analysis among both phases. The results shows in comparison to the second, the first wave with elevated tweet frequency and the results reveal that as the time passes negativity increases.Item Factors Effecting Type-2 Diabetes(UMT.Lahore, 2021-02-27) SUHAIL AHMADItem An Empirical Study of the Association between CO2 Emissions, Urbanization, Industrialization, Trade and Economic Growth Based on ARDL Approach(UMT.Lahore, 2022-02-26) Syed Ali Zeeshan ShahItem Homogenously Weighted Moving Average Control Chart for Rayleigh Distribution(UMT.Lahore, 2021-10-20) Mehwish ButtIn this thesis, we have proposed Homogeneously Weighted Moving Average (HWMA) control chart for Rayleigh distribution. The Average Run Length (ARL1) is used to evaluate the performance of the proposed HWMA control charts. The ARL1 performance of HWMA control chart is compared to the Exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) control charts with respect to the different shift size (i.e. 10%, 15%, 20%, 30%, 40% increase and decrease in shift). The results are calculated using sample size n=5. It is observed that with the increase in shift proposed HWMA chart shows more efficient results i.e. ARL1 values decrease with the increase in shifts. It is found that the proposed HWMA chart for Rayleigh distribution outperforms the existing EWMA control chart.Item Aerosols Variability Over the Central Location in the Indo Gangetic Basin(UMT.Lahore, 2021-10-29) Hafiza Farwa AminItem Exploring Association and Prediction of Evapotranspiration based on Meteorological Factors in Lahore(UMT.Lahore, 2021-10-29) Umra WarisAny change in a meteorological variable can affect an environmental element evapotranspiration over time. This paper studies the dynamic causal relationships between evapotranspiration and meteorological parameters, have long-term equilibrium relationships in Lahore, Pakistan during the period October 2004 to March 2020. The Augmented Dicky Fuller test reveals that the ARDL Approach to Cointegration is used for predicting ET. The results depicted that geopotential height, surface air temperature, relative humidity at the surface, surface wind speed, tropopause height, surface skin temperature and water vapor mass mixing ratio have a statistically significant long-run relationship with evapotranspiration. The results also revealed that cloud fraction, relative humidity at the surface, surface air temperature, total surface precipitation, water vapor mass mixing ratio, and tropopause height have statistically significant short-run relationship with evapotranspiration. The CF(t−1)has strongest effect on ET in short and long run. Speed of adjustment (ECTt−1) shows a highly significant and negative relation, which indicate that after a 1 unit increase in the period, evapotranspiration will go towards long-run equilibrium with the rate of 66.4%. The forecasted evapotranspiration time plot shows a long-term trend with seasonal components from April 2020 to March 2025.Item Thesis Statistical modeling of Carbon mono-oxide over mega city Lahore(UMT.Lahore, 2021-12-15) Sheraz AhmedThe purpose of study is to analyze the meteorological factors and making a suitable model to predict carbon mono-oxide over Lahore city. This study uses to develop an auto regressive distributed lag model to examine the long run as well as short run relationship between meteorological factors and carbon mono-oxide. It is examined that in long run method, carbon mono-oxide has significant effect with two significant meteorological factors i.e. surface skin temperature and total surface perception. While in short run method derivative of carbon monoxide has significant effect with total column water vapor which has also significant value. This study is used to for statistical modeling of carbon mono-oxide over mega city Lahore but it can be extended to other cities and provinces.Item Conditional Expected Value (CEV) based Coefficient of Variation (CV) control chart dealing with Type 1 Censored data(UMT.Lahore, 2021) ATEEBA ATIRIn this thesis, we proposed a new Conditional Expected Value (CEV) based Coefficient of Variation (CV) control chart for Type І Censored data under Rayleigh distribution. The control limit is based on quantile point approach. The performance of these charts is evaluated by means of Average Run Length (ARL) measure. The ARL1 measures are calculated for different shift values in scale parameter of the distribution. The control chart with smallest ARL1 are considered as the more efficient chart which detect changes in process deviation more speedily. The graphical representation is made using ARL curves to compare the performance of proposed CEV-CV control chart with a simple CV control chart. A real life data example is also included to view the performance of proposed CEV based CV control chart.Item EFFICIENT CONTROL CHARTING METHODOLOGY BASED ON DISTANCE WEIGHTED MEAN FOR NORMAL DISTRIBUTION(UMT.Lahore, 2021) Bisma ZamanItem Hybrid Double Exponentially Weighted Moving Average (HDEWMA) Control Chart ForInverse Rayleigh Distribution(UMT.Lahore, 2021-12-15) Abdul Wahab QamarThe Control charts are the most important tool of Statistical Process Control (SPC) tool kit. The “assignable and un-assignable causes” are differentiated via control charts. The objective of the potent process monitoring system is to identify the presence of an “assignable cause”. In this thesis, we have proposed a Hybrid Double Exponentially Weighted Moving Average HDEWMA control chart. The proposed control chart is based on Inverse Rayleigh Distributed lifetimes using simple random sampling (SRS) and ranked set sampling (RSS). Out-of-control-Average Run Length (ARL1) is used to evaluate the performance of the proposed control chart. The HDEWMA control chart is compared with traditional/simple EWMA and CUSUM control charts. The performance of the control chart is evaluated using out of control average run length (ARL1). A real-life example is used to compare the proposed HDEWMA, traditional/simple EWMA chart and CUSUM control chart. It is observed that the proposed HDEWMA control chart outperforms simple EWMA and CUSUM control charts. The HDEWMA control chart can be used for efficient monitoring of the production process in manufacturing industries where the data is coming from inverse Rayleigh Distribution.
