Impact of Supply Chain learning on Supply Chain Performance
(UMT.Lahore, 2018) Hafiz Saif Ur Rehman
Purpose –. The purpose of this research is to understand how supply chain learning practices impact supply chain performance. It also helps in understanding indirect impact of supply chain strategy in relationship between supply chain learning practices & supply chain performance. Design/methodology/approach – A survey on the manufacturing industry of Pakistan is conducted for this study, further the theoretically derived model is tested in PLS based structural equation model (SEM). Findings – The results of the study show that supply chain learning practices (exploitation and exploration) provide the basis for the development of supply chain strategy. Supply chain exploitation directly and supply chain exploration indirectly impact the supply chain performance. Furthermore, supply chain agility fully and lean supply chain partially mediate the relationship between supply chain learning and supply chain performance. Originality/value – This study aims to add value in; identifying basis for the development of supply chain strategy, evaluating performance implications of supply chain learning practices in the field of supply chain (specially supply chain exploitation and supply chain exploration), and uncover the indirect role of supply chain strategy to enhance supply chain performance.

    Achieving Supply Chain Resilience
    (UMT.Lahore, 2018) ABDUL QADEER KHAN
The effects of disruption on the organizations badly hamper their efficacy thereby requiring a dynamic solution. This study endeavored to analyze the role of supply chain ambidexterity in enhancing the firms’ resilience from a supply chain viewpoint. This study arranges supply chain adaptability and supply chain alignment as the first-order dynamic capabilities of supply chain ambidexterity. The purpose of this paper is to comprehend the positive impact of supply chain ambidexterity on supply chain resilience and also how supply chain agility as a mediator influences their relationship. This study is based on the survey conducted in the manufacturing firms of Pakistan by theoretically testing the research model using PLS-SEM. The result shows a positive effect of supply chain ambidexterity as a formative construct on the supply chain resilience. Supply chain agility also positively mediates the relationship between supply chain ambidexterity and supply chain agility. However, uncertainty as a moderator shows no impact on the relationship between supply chain ambidexterity and supply chain resilience. This study contributes to the literature of ambidexterity by using supply chain ambidexterity as a reflective-formative second order construct by applying repeated indicator approach. The study also contributes the use of mediator and moderator to check their impact on supply chain resilience.

Designing a Practical Resilient Framework For Potato Export Supply Chain
    (UMT.Lahore, 2018-09) Saqlan Abbas
No matter whatever is the nature of the supply chain, sources of production, intermediates and consumers are no more just local, rather this global spread has added on global complexities toped up by dwindling economies, political instable horizons, widespread social unrests and uncontrollable volatilities like non-availability of raw materials, high input costs, currency exchange rate differences etc.; all are being affected up to some extent. Food supply chains are highly prone to pre-harvest and post-harvest challenges like: intense weather conditions, shortage of water, floods, land salinity, pest attacks, poor grade seeds, non-technical sowing or earlier/delayed harvesting of crops, semi-perishable nature, and prolonged production times than expected, non- availability of chilled storage facilities and so on.

DEVELOPMENT OF FRAMEWORK FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF CPFR IN TEXTILE SECTOR
    (UMT.Lahore, 2018) Ayesha Ghazanfar
The main idea of this study is to learn and find the effect of collaboration in the textile sector. This study suggests the collaborative supply chain strategy collaboration, planning, forecasting and planning (CPFR) provide the greatest benefits to supply chain and also defines the suitable structure of CPFR for Pakistan. This is a case base research and comprises the different types of research article for the detailed understanding of collaboration and the impact of collaboration, planning, forecasting and planning (CPFR).

Mixed Integer Linear Programming Model A Case of Gujranwala Waste Management Company (GWMC)
(UMT.Lahore, 2018) Hafiz Muhammad Abbas Amin
The lack of planning in Solid Waste Management impacts a lot in operational and transportation cost of Solid Waste Management institutes. Currently all decisions regarding site selection for transfer station and landfill site is based on intuition. No any decision making tool is used. In this paper Gujranwala Waste Management Company is taken as an example to find a solution using Mixed Integer Linear Programming. A mathematical model is developed which helps to optimally manage the operations of managing waste by selecting best possible location and most economical route to minimize cost of operation and transportation. It also provides optimal no. of trips between different nodes.

The Effect of HRM Practices on Employee Engagement & Mediating Role of Psychological Conditions
    (UMT.Lahore, 2018-01) Aimun Khawaja
Engaged employees are cognitively vigilant, emotionally connected, and physically involved in their jobs. Research has shown that the extent to which employees demonstrate engagement with jobs varies depending upon the organizational context in which employee’s work. The importance of organizational context is evident in a recent Towers Watson’s Global Workforce Study 2014, which shows that more than half of the employees feel unsupported at work and are disconnected with their organizations’ goals. The study further reveals that salary, opportunities for career advancement and job security are fundamental to attracting and retaining all employees. Although a handful of research has found significant relationship between HRM practices and employee engagement, the mediating and moderating conditions of this relationship are not fully known as yet. Thus, the purpose of this study is to focus on the relationship between HRM practices and employee engagement in greater depth, with the mediating role of psychological conditions. Drawing from theory of the social exchange the study propose that HR practices positively impact employee engagement by enhancing psychological conditions among employees. Thus, this research will develop a model that represents psychological conditions as a mediating mechanism in the relationship between HRM practices and employee engagement. This study proposes a model of psychological conditions as a mediator in Human Resource Practices employee engagement relationship.
