    Metanoia
    (UMT.Lahore, 2021) Samia Kaleem
The education community from the primary to higher education sectors all follow a single standard of design of space, expecting it to cater to all forms of study. This statement stands true for a design school as well. Learning when analyzed isn’t just the curriculum given by the institute but rather it contains multiple factors that come in to play in the growth of the student in regards to their skills and thinkingdevelopment. One of the major factors often not realized is the environment that the student is learning in. The connection that we draw between environment and people is often that of functionality of the space whereas there is much more to it. The environment has the ability to impact the unconscious mind of the students as well as provide social opportunities which in return impact the ability of the learners to be able to think from different , to interact with the world around to grow and not just their desk, to be able to speak freely without the mental constrains and fears that a classical setting of the classroom may generate. The understanding of these connections becomes the base of the design of the ‘Design Center’ and aims use the interior design elements to create a chance of new meetings furthermore allowing it to become a stimulant for an active learning space. Analysis of different researches lead to common characteristics that give students a nice atmosphere to learn, such a flexible space, access to view outside the room, daylight and as well as elements related to nature. With the combination of our findings through reviewing different cases we are not only able to achieve collaboration between students but rather a comfortable conditions allowing the students complete their given tasks without the added unconscious stress of the room they are confined to. We are unknowingly prone to certain behavior due to the environmental cues we see within our surroundings and are unable to pinpoint the reason for feeling or acting a certain way. This project grasps the invisible thread that is connecting elements of interiors design to the activity of learning so that the students gain the most from it and are able to creatively explore what they hope to achieve.

Designing a contemporary rendezvous/resort with a restaurant facility
    (UMT.Lahore, 2021) Saman Ahmed
Interior Design has given the world a new perspective in regards to how the human world is associated with the surroundings we interact with. As we progress in time, we have become humans who want to live in their own little shells without much intervention; in simpler terms we want our own privacy. When at home, we can get all the privacy we need but what happens when we want to have a night out with our friends or family at our favorite restaurant? We face privacy issues all around us but to tackle that, especially in restaurants, we have created the perfect cocoons for people with friends and families who deserve all the privacy outdoors. In context to progressing in time, we have also come far far away from nature. People like to sit around indoors staring at their gadgets from dusk till dawn; To cater that, we are creating an environment where you can come back to terms with nature again. This is not only a restaurant where you can meet your loved ones in all the privacy you deserve but is also a resort that gives you freedom from the huge, ever-expanding world of technology that has eaten up every second of our lives. Élevé with its walk through Forest, Man-Made Water Lake, Restaurant, Café and Social Lounge gives people the perfect escape from their everyday busy lives. It also expands over to a total land area of 460580 square feet and can accommodate more than 1000 people at the same time. Élevé believes that privacy is a fundamental right of every single person but if we can do that simultaneously by bringing people closer to nature, nothing can be better.

    Soverignty
    (UMT.Lahore, 2021) TEHREEM ZAHRAH
I have chosen café for my thesis because as we all know Lahore is very famous for food. No matter how many cafes there will be people will still come and explore new cafes. Earlier people go cafes just to eat or drink coffee, but now the motif have been changed people go to cafes for birthday parties, office meetings, hangout purposes and many more. Everyone wants their life to be updated on social media, they want to post where they have been all day, where they have eaten lunch. So, they post picture on Instagram, so if our café interior looks good and have that aesthetic more people will see and visit out café is that how social media play’s role in marketing. theme for café is Comic design. I am going to design my café in a way that people will think that they have stepped into a comic world, because the atmosphere and ambiance will be giving cartoons vibes. I am also going to add some 3D look by placing superhero sculptures in the corner of the wall, as if they are coming out of the wall. My main purpose is to design an exceptional space for people to enjoy and for those people who really enjoy comics and colors and using Natural light as much possible as I can, because natural light helps people to be moreproductive, happy, and healthier. The color scheme which I will be using in my café is black, yellow, brown, red, and blue. These are basic color used in comic books and superhero books. Colorful chair can really give a nice ambiance. As I am using yellow color on my chairs because yellow color really boosts up the energy and people will feel happier in yellow space.Picking an area for your eatery is one of only a couple keys to get profit. The area of your food administration business will affect its prosperity almost as much as the menu. On the off chancethat your eatery is in some unacceptable spot, you will not draw in the measure of clients you will require to remain in business. The equivalent is valid if your area is immersed with contenders, or has helpless perceivability, or is difficult to find. The location which I have selected is MM Alam Road Lahore. As it is already very famous for restaurants and cafes. So, if I made my unique and creative café then people will want to come and eat there. Location really plays very important role when we are designing a café. If we select a location in wrong place, we will not be going to attract good number of customers.

    The virile loft
    (UMT.Lahore, 2021) AMNA AMJAD
The progressive departure of factories from cities, often due to environmental regulations, noise ordinances, or the price of real estate, has left many urban manufacturing facilities abandoned and out of use. This has already happened in many global cities. For example, in Pakistan, the economic crisis due to corona shutdown of many factories and warehouses. As these urban factories are left empty so the main objective is to convert warehouse into residential place where the rough edges would be mellowed and decorated away to give old world a new homely space.

    The flower shop
    (UMT.Lahore, 2021) Fizza Sharjil
The topic I selected for the thesis is flower shop based on my personal experience of depression and anxiety. I’m opening a flower shop soon so I thought why not I should first apply it on my thesis. I have gone through depression a year back so I started going to a flower shop daily. Being surrounded by nature has been long known to boost our mood and ease stress, but what if you could mimic that soothing vibe. Flowers are linked to my happiness, immediate and long term. They can relieve stress, lift your spirit, and ease away depression symptoms and anxiety. Flowers really pull me out of depression. Whenever I see flowers, my mind is really refreshed in an instance and I forget about all mysufferings and everything disturbing. I think flowers are the real reason that I’ve been able to do this and move on from my depression. Flowers build you a connection with nature and somethingbeyond your normal, fast paced environment. Colors are also considered to make you happier through chromotherapy. It is a kind of therapy which uses color to balance the energy that is lacking from a person’s body, whether it be physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental levels. In order to fight depression and anxiety I started visiting the flower shop daily and I could feel that whenever I go there my mind starts to relax and I start feeling so good so that suddenly one day I decided to open my own flower shop and that’s the reason I have selected this topic. All those people who are suffering from depression can do this the way I’m doing and I can proudly say that I’m out of my depression now after a few months of continuously visiting the beautiful flower shop, it has really helped me out. My flower shop theme is Modern. Flower shop will be all glass frames so that people can see it and the beauty of flowers radiates happiness that is not confined by solid walls.

    Minimalist dwellings
    (UMT.Lahore, 2021) SANA FATIMA
The concept is designing low budget small houses which are nature loving and are suitable for the current pandemic situation. Total area of my house 8’ wright 98’ length. Basically it’s a big challenge for me. These houses included large windows through which sunlight can pass easily. Another proposes of these houses that most of the people cannot build new and can’t afford new apartments easily so that I’m designing these affordable houses for local people. Designing the inside of associate degree lodging after you have little area to figure with is actually a challenge. We tend to all recognize that a home ought to be as comfy as attainable for its inhabitants, however after we have solely many sq. meters to figure with and therefore the essential functions of the house to distribute, finding associate degree economical layout isn't simple. Until recently, but if we look at the history and association between design and the development of the lifestyles of humanity, we are not interested in the roots of the movement of little houses. We will notice items and patterns that paint a clearer image of the foundations of this movement that has exploded within the last decade as folks leave behind the excesses of recent and take approach a far additional minimalist and versatile way of life. Working on a tiny low scale offers somewhat kittenish flexibility. From adjustable interiors to urban installations and tree houses, one should use the imagination to resolve the problems of restricted area or budget. Good housing is important for physical and money security, economic productivity, and human well-being. Additionally, to adequate comfort, it's essential that these homes an integrated with the town, jobs, infrastructure, and town services. Among several alternative requirements, having an area to structure a life is important to moving forward and booming. The perfect storm of low cost housing crisis is production right now: a threat created from the already low supply that is bit the increasing post-pandemic demand head on. Life once the Covid-19 occurrence can ne'er be a similar as before. We have a tendency to at the start of the tip, looking forward to a brand new starting. If we have a strong desire to drastically change our attitudes, Planet Earth will be able to sever its cooperation agreement with the rest of the world. The ability to heal Priorities will change, our lifestyles and activities will change, and our houses will change as a result. With that in mind, here are seven predictions for potential changes. Moderate structures were established to house as many people as possible in one location. Quality of life and sanitation were not even considered. In the event of a global epidemic, it is best to limit connection with it all that is used in modern homes. The project's goal is to design small houses with a touch of landscaping and natural light.  The location that I select is Kahna is a town in Punjab, located 15 kilometers from Lahore on the Firozpur route.

    Atelier
    (UMT.Lahore, 2021) Ayesha Latif
Analysts assess that between one-third and one-half of the populace is made up of introverted people, yet our working environments appear to progressively favor extroverts. Extroverts are celebrated in our culture as movers. They are seen as the strong leaders and confident workers. Introverts people on the other hand, have strengths, creativity and even leadership that are as a rule ignored. Instead, they are frequently seen in less complimenting terms; calm, bashful, or indeed destitute collaborators. Because of this discernment, numerous introverts’ people go through their day trying to overcome their natural tendencies and to show more extroverted sort of behavior that appear to be basic to victory. My objective as a designer is to form value within the working environment by giving an assortment of choices for everyone to work more effectively. In fruitful work situations, the foremost imperative feature is the understood belief of workers. It is additionally imperative for companies to set up communication benchmarks in arrange to guarantee groups are adjustedon the prioritization of assignments and due dates. As long as representatives still have the capacity to collaborate with their colleagues, trusting workers to work from domestic, or in a center room or library, advances efficiency. This fashion works since workers feel more comfortable in an environment they have chosen for themselves. I have found that the arrangement is to work with focused on people to form adaptable workstations that offer the suitable sum of capacity, visual protection, and pose customization. Components that are effectively modifiable permit individuals to clergyman an environment that meets their needs and maximizes person efficiency. We are too careful of the significance of giving representatives sufficient space between workstations. The end of the work shows offices will as it developed more adaptable and more complex so it is worth the exertion to form these possibly overpowering spaces safe and comfortable indeed for the foremost independent workers. The long run of work is moving quickly, let us make beyond any doubt we bring all our representatives with us as we travel forward.

    Peace
    (UMT.Lahore, 2021) Noor ul Ain
With the passing time, humans are becoming more introverts. Everyone wants their privacy even if they’re in their own homes. Most people want peace after returning to their homes after full day of work. A penthouse is a great way to get away from the loud roaring cities. As well as enjoying its benefits and advantages at the same time. This is also mainly the reason why I chose this topic as interior design has given the world a new perspective in regards to how the human world is associated with the surroundings to interact with. Thus, I’ll be designing this penthouse under this perspective. The penthouses are an under-studied component of interior design. This study identifies differenttypes of contemporary professionally designed luxury penthouses in the world and also sheds light on the existing penthouses in Pakistan. The purpose of this study is to propose something that is not common here in Pakistan. The pent houses in Pakistan compared to the whole world seem to be very traditional and basic, missing the luxury, elegance and aesthetics. The research model includes two approaches. The first one is to focus on the penthouses that are already inPakistan. Second, To check out the penthouses in the world and to look what lacks in the pent houses in Pakistan. Thus, that we can approach them with new ideas and a brand-new proposal with our skills and talents to amplify a harmless, aesthetic and pleasurable aura for the people living in the space by planning researches, coordinating and managing such enhancement projects. The critical approach focuses on the contemporary interior design practices of professional designers. The main goal of this proposal ‘peace’ would be to create something different than what is already in Pakistan and to showcase the understanding of design as a mere tool to create better interiors then any ordinary space and to gather peace, beauty and aesthetics into one place. This study will examine penthouse environments by summarizing discourses about patterns, typologies, practice and/or hypothesis in contemporary design usage and give a comprehensive argument about different precedents in penthouse design. This research is systematic, comprehensive and explores primary source materials.

    Reincarnation
    (UMT.Lahore, 2021) Hira Tariq Abbasi
This thesis revolves around the idea of working for the betterment of the country by bringing light to an almost untouched aspect of reality. In the times of today, our country needs to have some good rehabilitation centers for the drug addicts because the rate of youth indulging into drugs is increasing day by day. Speaking of which, the government needs to tackle that issue more seriously as well. Being an interior designer, my amount of share can be added by doing what I can do best i.e., design. Our country does not have even a single state of the art rehabilitation center. The ones that exist are extremely low key. The patients cannot even spend a single day there, let alone be treated. The drugs can ruin one’s life completely if the person is not rehabilitated. On the contrary, if the rehab centers are not good enough, the addicts will keep moving in the opposite direction because they won’t agree to be treated in such a bad place. This phenomenon can be avoided by building a state-of-the-art rehabilitation center. The purpose of this thesis is to design a space which is pleasant enough to make the patients welcome and keeps them sane. A place that will cater to every possible need that a patient might have. The aim is to create a healthy environment using contemporary and minimalistic approach of design. The place will feel like home to the patients and will consist of gaming zones, outdoor and indoor activities, cinema and everything good. This project was long due because it’s high time that we save our nation by saving the pillars of the foundation, that is our youth. All the possible measures will be taken in order to bring back the ones who are lost.

    Dark villa
    (UMT.Lahore, 2021) HAFIZ ADNAN AKRAM
This dissertation describes the concept of black villas. Black is very vague, dark palette was an important concept. Black means "power", its character and dignity. It is a striking example of modern architecture. It contrasts sharply with the surrounding foliage and hills. Constant visual communication is maintained in this area by large windows on large faces. The interior presentation shows the success of these elements, since the dark color and rich wood used in the interior create the perfect recipe with background views. Interior presentation with stone floor-to-ceiling backgrounds found in bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchens. Other designs, such as marble and a metal hollow, provide visual relief to thick concrete walls and ceilings while maintaining consistency with the color palette. The aerial photographs show a green roof that carries almost all roof surfaces, allowing the house to blend into the landscape on top and has a less intrusive passage. While the large concrete platform and the minimal staircase contrast with the surrounding greenery, the skylights also continuously break up the vegetation into two large living spaces. There are many nuances throughout the property that make it highly modern and luxury, not just one or two items. So, there are some fantastic black mansions. This gorgeous black villa is a fantastic example of how dark colors may be used to create a modern residence.

    The hording studio
    (UMT.Lahore, 2021) Ali Zulfiqar
The purpose of the institute is to create conductive environment and performance spaces for the young musicians and providing them with a facility to record their music under a proper record label and learn the process of music production and education of theory and marketing. The institute will cater the recording requirements of Pakistani classical and folk music of different regions of Pakistan. The absence of a public sector recording and education facility in Pakistan and the absence of recording techniques in the curriculum in music schools prevent the evolution of local music and its ability to be broadcasted worldwide. Providing a platform for the musicians to perform and recording facilities in Pakistan for research into local and international music will help musicians, cinema revival, and all recording requirements of the country.

    Effervescence
    (UMT.Lahore, 2021) SHAZAA MUDASSAR
Pakistan has been ranked at 148th in terms of gender equity, making it the 2nd worst country for women to live in. With 11 rape cases every day, 22,00 rape cases have been reported in the last six years. During the lockdown, there has been a 25% increase in domestic violence cases against women, more than 3,000 cases were registered during the COVID lockdown and this does not include the cases of abuse that went unregistered. Women perceive public space differently than men and design can have a lot of impact on how safe a woman feels within a space. Since the majority of the spaces in Pakistan – whether it be public spaces, offices, universities, etc. – are male-dominated, most of the times women don’t feel welcomed nor feel like they belong due to the constant fear of violence and abuse - this constant fear makes them less likely to occupy these public spaces. The thesis aims to create a third space for women other than their homes, where they don’t only feel safe physically but also emotionally and mentally. To create a community where women can talk, receive social and moral support, build social networks, and know that they are not alone in their day-to-day struggles. A space that conveys a sense of freedom and belonging. In this thesis, the feeling of emotional safety and freedom is expressed through the interior design of the space. The space is multifunctional, it accommodates a balance of both quiet areas and engaging areas. The plan itself has been kept simple and easy to navigate along with a big chunk of the plan being dedicated to landscape design. The feeling of emotional safety is evoked through the use of calming colors and textures along with clean sightlines. The design accommodates a lot of balance. A major focus has been on the space having no clutter to reduce any excess environmental stressors and make the interiors as stress-free as possible. All in all, the space designed is intended to be a calming, stress-free, and safe zone for women to come and relax, to forget about their worries and anxieties, and have an escape. A space where they can be themselves without any fear and can find support and build friendships. Women-only places are not the solution to the ages-old oppression women have been facing but it’s a step in the direction, a step to ensure a safer community for women.

    Route
    (UMT.Lahore, 2021) Affaq Javed
The Pakistan has biggest malls, tallest buildings, luxurious hotels and shopping festivals. Behind these extravagant images lies the other side the old districts, street life and life under trucks. According to Pakistan statistics 95% of the employed population are males, which are working in transportation, construction and extractive industries such as labors, taxi drivers and truck drivers. Specifically truck drivers are the biggest victims. This thesis project shed light on the life of truck drivers who are constantly on road and cannot afford accommodation. Due to that they sleep under trucks, park their trucks in illegal spaces with no access to food, water and basic facilities. This thesis highlights the current condition of truck drivers in Pakistan. Surveys and interviews are conducted of different drivers on Truck rest areas to know the problems they are facing and allow the design of this project to have a purpose and fulfill users need. Through the interviews, an idea of integrated museum grew, where truck drivers are given a space that can express their suppressed emotions due to the nature of their job. On the other hand, public is exposed to their emotions. The aim is to spread awareness on this matter as trucking industry is one of the leading industry in Pakistan. Therefore, truck drivers need a healthy environment designed for them. Moreover, this project will combine residential and commercial design, create a rentable sleeping and living space for truck drivers and a self-expressive museum accessed by the public merged by an underground spiritual complex that unites both users. This project mainly focusses to transform the understanding of design as a mere tool to create better interiors, than an ordinary space. According to Professor Chadi El Tabbah “It’s about the quality not quantity”. That being said, the objective of this project is to create qualitative spaces that will change the experience of the user, whether it’s the truck driver in his temporary sleeping pod, or a visitor curious about the self-expressive museum.

    Connecté
    (UMT.Lahore, 2021) Afifa Fatima
The purpose of this study is to achieve such an environment through interior design that connects everyone, promotes interactive learning and give a vibe of home away from home. This thesis demonstrates designing the interactive hostels for students only by using the Memphis technique and comfortable interior blended with the vibrant colors. The ideology behind this is to build the hostel that gives a student worth living place where he/she can live like a home comfortably and socialize openly. The purpose of such hostels is to remove the typical stereotypical standards of hostels that is stopping the students from achieving their educational goals. A hostel must be comfortable, hygienic and sociable place which can be used as a home by students. There are several ways to make interactive hostels but my concept lies working on the interior design of the hostel. Meaning that making the worth looking environment for the hostel students. By using the New Memphis and Contemporary style, an inviting and aesthetically pleasing space can be created. Use of bold colors, geometrical patterns and comfortable furniture makes the space inviting and students will feel young and energetic. A concept of interactivity can be gained by designing a big gathering hall where students can easily speak to one another, communicate easily, study, socialize and create an emotional experience. After designing the hostel, we can be able to predict the performance of the students when they start living in the well-designed interior hostels.

    The box of life
    (UMT.Lahore, 2021) Muneeba Nadeem
The purpose of this project is to reduce homelessness in Pakistan as it is the major issue nowadays.in the current time the house price is touching the sky and many people are homeless. So, this project is designed while keeping in mind all these aspects to provide houses for the poor to live a better life. This project consists of two steps. In the first step building is built by getting loan form the bank then a person gets the house and then gets the job and in the second step after getting the job they pay for the house through which the bank loan is paid back. With this process most of the people end up staying in the house. There is no one time policy in this project. If someone leaves the house, they can apply for a house over and over again. This is the most effortless and effective way to tackle homelessness around the world.
