System to Translate English Video or Audio to Equivalent PSL Sentences
    (UMT, Lahore, 2016) Ahmad Bilal
Population of deaf and hearing impaired personnel is increasing day by day and communication gap between hearing impaired and unimpaired is larger than ever. Very few efforts have been done for Pakistan to bridge this gap, this research is intended to facilitate deaf community of Pakistan by proposing grammar based conversion system for English and Urdu speech from a media file to equivalent Pakistan Sign Language sentences. For this, we have used API’s and services like Google Speech Recognition to recognize words spoken in the media file, Google Translation to translate Urdu to English, Machine Learning based python script to punctuate English transcript, Google Natural Language services to Extract Sentences from Transcript and our English to Pakistan Sign Language translation module for conversion to English Sentences to equivalent Pakistan Sign Language Sentences. Our system can recognize audio from multiple video and audio sources which enables us to use this system on vast scale. We gathered data, audio/video sentences and stories, to validate and improve accuracy of our system. With use of well-developed and intelligent services we were able to achieve 99.30% accuracy in case of sentence recognition and 94.25% accuracy in case to story recognition.

    Educational Quality Control System
(UMT, Lahore, 2016) Danyal Azam Chattha and Ali Gulraiz
This project aims to provide the fast, time saving and reliable solution for the slow and manual evaluation system running in education sector. We are currently focusing on the structure of the universities. This system intends to provide a basic structure for the evaluation of teachers and education being provided. It will save the costs as well as time in multiple ways. Reliability is the top priority because what we expect from our system is the “reliable computed results”. It basically aims to implement a digital work place which is connected to a well maintained database, furthermore, it can become an online system. We intend to improve the quality of education by providing an efficient evaluation system. We are focusing on providing an easy pathway to the students for expressing their concerns related to the faculty. Our main goal is to implement a system which provides all above mentioned services and it will fit into approximately every higher educational institution. It will nearly eliminate a complete department of quality control running on paper based evaluations which are extremely time taking and sometimes inauthentic

Dynamic Hand Gesture Recognition using Kinect
    (UMT, Lahore, 2016) Tayyba Naz
With a population of 70 million deaf people in world [1], Pakistan has approximately 0.3 million [2] deaf people residing on its land. There have been several researches done in developed countries to come with a mechanism to give voice to the deaf community. American Sign Language, British Sign language has been standardized for American and British deaf community consequently. Other countries have developed their own sign language. In Pakistan, deaf community uses Pakistan Sign Language (PSL) as a mode of communication. To overcome the gap between signers and non-signers and to give voice to deaf community, we have proposed an automated solution which uses Microsoft's sensor device, Kinect-1. Our system uses skeleton and depth frame data provided by Kinect. Depth data is used to recognize the hand shape. Other features are computed from skeleton data. Gestures are computed by a hierarchical neural network which is trained using back-propagation method. First network computes the hand Shape. The second network recognizes the gesture performed taking the recognized hand shape and other features as input. The system outputs the recognized gesture in the form of text. The system works with an accuracy of 87.5%.

    Farmers Information System
(UMT, Lahore, 2016) Muhammad Asad, Junaid Shahzad and Hasan Noor
The old and redundant system of providing information to farmers is the “Mud Wall”. Through this technique the latest information are shared in very limited range and very slowly in our villages which results in less growing rate of our crops. Current the ‘Mud Wall” system can be replaced by “Farmers Information System” through which a lot of information may be provided to the farmers. Best seeds, best crop area, and latest techniques of sowing, watering, fertilizing, pesticide and harvesting, may be taught to the farmers for the betterment of quality and quantity of all agricultural products. Farmers can also check the weather report. As a result of using “Farmers Information System”, overall growth ratio of crops can be increased tremendously in our country.

    Matrices Evaluator for BPMN
(UMT, Lahore, 2016) Muneeb Ahmad Farooqi, Ali Shan, Bilal Shuja and Muhammad Khan
The BPMN Evaluator is a software to compute 26 different types of matches and show their results. Our application is based on Java, that represents a user interface to show all the matrices and their calculations in table form other than those we have functionalities to save the history and data of users of their previous models. As there is no desktop application available to evaluate models, so we have created an application to compute metrics and their progress. For that purpose, we have built a number of models to test our product results, then evaluate which metrics really matter in the quality fortitude of a process model after seminal quality metrics from various studies we work out those metrics manually and find the results, then notices of models computed by BPMN Evaluator . That will also provide a feature to its users that they can see the progress of their models on high level by comparing all models. Target Marketing of our product is only the industrialists. Like nestle has more than 400 products just in Pakistan. If they want to study the over all progress and decline of their products then they will able to see the high level record of their products and will able to find the stage where the product goes in decline or need improvement. There are many organizations in the world and most of them produce many products, and for producing something there must be some processes behind each product .for performing those processes without any mistake organizations make process models for their processes .so here we come to a field called business process management .process models enables an organization to analyze their processes and the change comes into processes with the passage of time. There are too many processes in an organization so for managing those processes organizations maintain repositories of process models. Suppose an organization has 7000 process models and we can imagine there are different types (sales, production, purchase, human resource etc.) of the processes in an organization for managing those process models there must be a categorized repository which is manageable easily so as it is understandable this will not be a trivial task to compare each process model to whole repository and manage it. For managing those repositories automated techniques is a must requirement. However process models repositories are build in different stages and by different people in the large organizations so with that case repository must have data duplication and noisy data for managing that data there must be some automated technique required. To managing those noisy collections researchers are trying to build repositories which are advanced and manageable easily. For making those kind of repositories there are some advanced features required .these features are classified into four types, evaluation, comparison, management and presentation [reference of apromore paper]. Whereas evaluation covers the analysis of quality, correctness and performance analysis .comparison considers similarity between models and pattern based analysis. Management describes about how to control extensions, individualization and reference based completion of the repository. Last and most useful feature is presentation of the process models presentation relates to useful generalization of processes and secondary notations (size, color, etc).

(UMT, Lahore, 2016) Umair Butt, Salman Tahir, Ameer Hassan and Usman Ashraf
Employees are the backbone of any company therefore their management plays a major role in deciding the success of an organization. This project is a real time android application connected through global positioning tracking (GPS) system. In our project, the company CEO will create different levels of managers through which they can track all of the employees and managers. Our purpose system is to make simpler for the managers to keep track of their employees. The session time between employees and managers is manager defined. Most of all, the employer can assign tasks to employees and assess their progress in order to keep track of employee performance. We developed this application in android studio and admin panel in Phpstrom. It is simple to understand and can be used by anyone who is not even familiar with simple employees’ system. It is user friendly and just asks the user to follow step by step operations by giving easy to follow options. It is fast and can perform many operations like online order submission for a company.

    Safety Driving - Emotions Detection
(UMT, Lahore, 2016) M.Abdul Rehman Khan, Fahad Zafar, Tahir Khalil and Ali Ammar
Most of the accidents happen due to distraction of driver. Distraction of driver depends upon different aspects that mostly consist of talking/chatting with others while driving, evading road safety and signs, the mood or actions of driver is not good, if the driver is angry, fatigued, excited, listening loud sound of music, not in good condition of physical health, worried, etc. All these aspects result in the interruption of a driver’s focus. We propose approaches that detect anger, fatigue and normal person’s expression using the facial points. These facial points are spotted by BoRMaN (Boosted Regression with Markov Networks). The detected facial expression in different frames are then tested and trained via Neural Networks which tells that driver is distracted or not

    Sematic Search in Holy Quran
(UMT, Lahore, 2016) Ali Niaz Butt and Umair Ahmad
The study of Quran unfolds great magnitude of knowledge and wisdom. To have relevant information from the web has now become the problem for many, especially for those who required information for research purposes. The proposed system provides an intelligent search engine for the Holy Quran with full text features. It enables the user to extract meaningful information from the Holy Quran. Our Ontology based system serves as the key product in the semantic information extraction from such a prestigious Islamic resource, the Holy Quran itself. Here relational database is first populated with verses and chapters and information from the Quran, and further meaningful relation are made. We are providing students of Quran with a search tool which can yield results in form of Ayah from the Holy Quran based on Topics provided by Online Quran Ontology. This will hopefully shorten the gap between mere reading of the Holy Book and researching required and useful topics from the Holy Book.
