Item 70 years of queen Elizabeth II(UMT.Lahore, 2023) HUNAINA SHAHIDRoyalty , fashion, power, London has always been my motivation to work harder and achieve them, but to achieve all of it stability and consistency is very important which our generation lacks. But when I think of Queen Elizabeth II it all sums up and makes it look a little easier and achievable . She has set an example that there’s no age or only work rule to run an empire or to accomplish what you desire . Elizabeth stabilising an empire running reigns still manages to serve as a fashion icon slaying lavishing outfits and creating fashion statements while not letting anybody raise a question. . Queen Elizabeth II rarely held back from expressing her personal style over her 70-year reign. Her clothing was instantly recognised and established the style of "royal" attire with its vibrant sequins and unusual headwear. Elizabeth's fashion, style and hard work teaches us that wearing a dress or high heels can’t stop you or limitise you from doing hard chores , as she ran a whole lot empire on her heels . It’s not either a princess or a warrior, it’s both side by side . So this concept inspires me to create my collection in tribute of Queen Elizabeth.Item A pre-wedding ritual(UMT.Lahore, 2025) SUMAIYA TARIQMehndi night is an important pre-marriage ritual in South Asian society, especially in Pakistan and India, which reflects the hopes of a couple's union. The beginning of a bride's wedding ceremony is marked by this colorful event which is important for both social and cultural norms. The ceremony is defined by the use of henna (mehndi) on the bride's hands and feet, as well as with dance, music and family celebrations. Given their role in South Asian societies, especially in Pakistani and Indian society, the purpose of the mehndi night is the focus of this essay in the form of a pre-marriage ceremony, which aims to investigate its history, symbolism and cultural importance. Mehndi is a technique that combines both traditional and modern methods. Henna was previously used in ancient Egypt and spread to the Indian subcontinent, where it became an important part of the ceremonies. The importance of rituals is not only in its visual beauty, but also in its symbolic sense of fertility, wealth and protection of the bride from evil spirits. It is believed that applying henna at night mehndi will give a couple, especially the bride in her new life. The paper mehndi will discuss the social mobility of the function, focusing on how it strengthens family relations and enhances community bonding. The evening is usually a performance of joy, which can come in the form of traditional tunes, dancing to the melodies, and a donation of vibrant clothing, which are all involved in the ceremony. These traditions inherited from generations represent the strong cultural heritage of South Asia, but have also developed over time, especially in cities, where modern influences are associated with traditional practices. Additionally, the research mehndi will explain in detail on the contemporary changes of the night, especially in the light of globalization of trends. The ceremonies have changed, as a result of the development of contemporary music styles, fashion and electronic media, the traditional with contemporary has been combined. Nevertheless, with these changes, the rituals remain the basic principle of the festival, communal solidarity, and blessings for the bride. The study will identify the importance of the night in strengthening the bride and her family and in the wider social environment in which the phenomenon occurs. The thesis will use qualitative information, such as interviews with informers, personal remembrance, and an examination of symbolic meanings behind some rituals. Finally, the mehndi night is not just a ritual ceremony; This is a proof of cultural heritage and family unity within South Asian communities. In an attempt to contribute to the overall understanding of the pre-Shaadi ceremony as a platform to celebrate community unity, respect for tradition and the beginning of a new experience in the bride's life, the paper investigates the phenomenon.Item Albinisim and social stigma(UMT.Lahore, 2024) MAHAM ASGHARThis abstract is centered on social problems against albinos who are different in physical appearance because of the absence about melanin deposits, which could pass as a color making substance anywhere within their body. Sometimes it feels like our lives are just a bunch of buttons stuck together for no reason. But what do you think? These buttons are part of our history. And in that chaos is a wonderful opportunity for us to learn, toughen up, and become better versions of ourselves. Now, let us be real, chaos can be like a scary beast tearing ones mind from inside . It amuses and confuses us because it is all so interesting. It's like someone took your comfort blanket and threw it in the washing machine on a brick spin cycle. But here's the thing. When things go right, it shows what we are made of. We know deep down that we stand strong. And like all phoenixes born in fire, born beautiful and strong, we speak - we can rise above these things. When things go wrong, it's easy for everyone to panic and get caught up in things we can't control. However, if we can cool down and see the bigger picture, then we will learn more about ourselves. Like real, we get a VIP pass, no filters or fakes allowed. We see what we are really good at and what we need to do.And that "ah" moment finds us in the middle of the storm. Chaos has a subtle way of showing how important it really is. It takes a big sweep and clears out all the noise so we can see the real deal. And when we do, we seem to have chosen unusual rules for our lives. We feel better, everything suddenly makes more sense. But here is the important thing. Sometimes the best way to deal with chaos is to just... for example, stop fighting the waves and go surfing instead. When we stop trying to control every little thing, we have this freedom that is truly amazing. We don't mind the current, but we love swimming, and it's more tiring. So when we go through all the drama that life throws at us, remember that it's all about growing up and being human. Chaos is like a personal life coach, forcing us to be brave, smart and generally awesome. It tells us: "Hey, I know you got this," and we got to show what we're made of. So let's roll through the holes, lift our twins up and maybe throw a little dance move in there and this makes our story epic and enjoyableItem Amidst the chaos(UMT.Lahore, 2024) Annus Munir HussainIn the wild chaos of life, the chaos throws up a bunch of crazy threads that make a really complicated picture, you know? What is androgynous have to mean? The word androgynous means,“A person having combination of feminine and masculine characteristics”Androgyny first for an androgynous individual and then androgynous which is used to describe a person appearance or clothing as having elements of both feminine and masculinity. The word androgynous meaning is derived from Greek word that is adras which means man gyne meaning and it refers to the concept that is regarding to the mixing of both male and female genders or they have a lack of gender identification actually their concept is refer to the mixing of both male and female gender or a lack of gender identification in this what is in the mix the first that is the mixing of masculine and feminine characteristics actually aesthetics of androgyny is a habitat style of traditionally masculine and feminine which include clothing makeup hairstyling or etc.Item Androgyny(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Mishal AliThe androgyny is a composite being that shares masculine and feminine attributes, coming between and disrupting normative definitions of gender. The quality of androgyny is not just found in fashion, it's how you behave or present yourself to the world, which affords people the freedom to express themselves without any cultural limitation or restraint. Androgyny has become a signal of power for perversion and otherness in contemporary conversation. A style Anthology Definition Androgyny has had a significant influence on many design fields, including fashion, interior design, industrial design, and film . Another way in which androgyny has been evident can be traced to the creative communities that looked to the group identities as though seen from an omniscient perspective. In these fields, redefining beauty from a perspective of free, self-representation, the androgynous body is considered canvas for new coherence of beauty. Furthermore, androgyny and sexuality have become associated with discussions of gender fluidity and non-binary identities, supporting the argument that gender is a social construction expressing itself individually rather than relying on a biological premise. The elements from both binary genders together represent the belief that these two groups or ways of existing cannot be intertwined, that one's a priori identity/styles/essences can only fall into one or two categories – "male" or "female". This idea is the impetus behind this collection. Beyond labels, androgyny allows the wearer to dress and exist in way that is most genuine to them as an individual not as society expects someone should exist. This collection is built on recognizing the beauty in expressing two polar identities to generate a strong, and unique of 'feminine' and 'masculine'. Androgyny has been shown in different cultures from historical examples to modern fashion. As we go away from the labels and express our authenticity through our clothing, it is more relevant than ever. The collections are simple but chic, the colors are silent and the dress is versatile, to fit for everyone. This combination shows that fashion is not related to sex, but rather it is linked to itself, and it emphasizes comfort, trust and style. Andregeni is more than a trend in fashion, it is about freedom and participation. This collection encourages people to feel confident in dressing themselves, as is the way they reflect their strength. Almost as a statement of individuality, creativity and the power of personal style. In today's increasingly accepting society, androgyny is being accepted not just in fashion but in art and media as well. My theme is one of individuality and supports the idea that who we are cannot be defined by rigid gender stereotypes but rather, by our own unique form of personal expression.Item Antimicrobial vestiario(UMT.Lahore, 2024) Afrish LiaqatIn recent years, the textile industry has witnessed a burgeoning interest in developing antimicrobial fashion garments, especially for children's clothing, owing to the increasing awareness of hygiene and health concerns. This abstract provides a comprehensive review of the innovations, applications, benefits, and challenges associated with antimicrobial fashion garments tailored for children. The primary objective of antimicrobial clothing is to inhibit the growth and proliferation of microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses, thus reducing the risk of infections and odors. This is particularly crucial in children's clothing, as they are more susceptible to microbial contamination due to their active lifestyle and still-developing immune systems. Manufacturers have responded to this demand by integrating antimicrobial agents into various textiles using advanced technologies. Antimicrobial agents commonly used in children's clothing include silver nanoparticles, zinc oxide, copper oxide, and quaternary ammonium compounds. These agents are either embedded within the fabric fibers during production or applied as coatings on the fabric surface. Their effectiveness in preventing microbial growth has been extensively studied and validated through laboratory tests and clinical trials. The benefits of antimicrobial fashion garments for children are manifold. Firstly, they provide an additional layer of protection against harmful pathogens, especially in high-contact areas such as school environments and playgrounds. Secondly, they help maintain garment freshness by minimizing the accumulation of sweat and odor-causing bacteria. Thirdly, they contribute to prolonging the lifespan of clothing by reducing microbial degradation and discoloration. Moreover, antimicrobial clothing can offer peace of mind to parents and caregivers, knowing that their children are wearing garments that actively combat microbial contamination. This is particularly relevant in the current global context, where hygiene concerns have been heightened by the COVID-19 pandemic. Antimicrobial clothing has emerged as a preventive measure to mitigate the spread of infectious diseases, complementing other hygiene practices such as regular handwashing and social distancing. Despite the numerous benefits, antimicrobial fashion garments for children also pose certain challenges. One of the primary concerns is the potential environmental impact of antimicrobial agents, especially when garments reach the end of their lifecycle and are disposed of in landfills. There is a growing need for sustainable alternatives that maintain antimicrobial properties while minimizing ecological footprint. Additionally, there are considerations regarding the durability and effectiveness of antimicrobial treatments over multiple wash cycles. Some antimicrobial agents may lose their efficacy over time or with repeated washing, necessitating reapplication or re-treatment of garments. Manufacturers are continually innovating to address these challenges and develop more durable and sustainable antimicrobial solutions. Conclusion: In conclusion, antimicrobial fashion garments for children's clothing represent a promising innovation in the textile industry, offering enhanced protection against microbial contamination and contributing to overall hygiene and well-being. While there are challenges to overcome, ongoing research and development efforts are paving the way for safer, moreItem Apocalypse(UMT.Lahore, 2022) ZEENAS MISHMAHApocalypse way the complete final destruction of the world, the cease of the world as described with inside the biblical Book of Revelation. Baroque emphasizes dramatic, exaggeratedmotion and clear, easily interpreted, detail. The baroque era was all about expressing grandeur andpower through their art. The theme inspires us with its message of empowerment in today’s era. Itencourages us to be bold, express ourselves just like the artists of that time, so we can also see intoour inner power and create something extraordinary. This theme empowers the strength andcapabilities of individuals and by showing the talents and abilities. The message of empowermentwas conveyed through the elaborate and intricate designs and by use of bold and dramatic elementsand the celebration of human achievement. The era where the artist was not provided by much machinery but still through their creativity orpower to believe on their own selves make them leave an impact on the whole world. So it notonly gives us the lesson of empowerment by the power of human creativity and expression but italso encourages us to embrace our unique talents by having confidence in ourselves like the artistsof that time. The intricate art, music and literature and architecture of the era remind us that we have the potential to make the things beyond the expectations which gave us courage to be notonly bold but also to take risk and follow our passions with determination and we have bravery toexperiment with the new forms and techniques, because the baroque era not only symbolizes thefreedom but also gives us the courage to challenge our comfort zone and to display our power invarious forms. The grandeur and confidence displayed in Baroque art and musicians serve as a reminder for us toembrace our own strength and abilities. It encourages us to strive for greatness. Just like the artistsand musicians of baroque eras, we can tap into our inner power and create somethingextraordinary. It inspires us to embrace our talents, express ourselves boldly and try for excellence.Through its art, music literature and philosophy, the baroque era reminds us of limitlesspossibilities within ourselves and inspires us to tap into our own strength and creativity. It teachesus that we have the power to make our destiny and make a meaningful impact on the world likethe people of that time whose art and creativity still have impact in today’s world.Item Battle against risk(UMT.Lahore, 2020) Saba RaufAs the name shows firefighter is someone who fight against fire. A firefighter is a person who rescue us from hazardous fire, but even though all fire fighters are trained in that, one’s will play more important part in the rescuing mission. To extinguish the destructive fire meant as firefighting. To fight with these fires and preventing loss of lives, land and the atmosphere is the job of firefighter. To decrease the fire, rescuing the lives, stopping the fire, providing basic first aid to injured ones and investigate that how fire actually started are included in the basic tasks of firefighters. Firefighters are also known as fireman or fire brigades. When any emergency appears like there is a building on a fire, firefighters are always ready and they instantly respond to these emergencies and go to where they are needed to recues people or building or wherever their attention is needed. Firstly, they get rid of fire then they recue people or animals and they also provide basic first aid to injured people or animals too. For doing all of these jobs they need to be brave, have enough courage, and should have enough devotion to their job. Because not only life of people they are saving is in danger but also their own too. So, they should be fearless and bold enough to recuse both people and themselves from danger. Team-work also plays an important role in all of these. They can only perform well if theyare in contact with each other, they have to cooperate with each to recue living beings. How they put themselves in danger to rescue us was really a big inspiration. They don’t think about their lives and are available for us 24/7. So, I wanted to pay tribute to them in a stylish way. Few of the designers also did it before like in New York Fashion Week, Autumn/Winter collection 2018 Calvin Klein paid tribute to emergency service heroes with a sizzling collection. In Gucci Spring/Summer 2020 collection also there were garments inspired from firefighters. “I used uniforms as something that block and constrain you inside codes that make you functional, practical and anonymous,” (Michele, 2020) In my collection, I also paid tribute to these special people who put us before themselves. Even though the inspiration was firefighter, collection did not include basic uniforms, in fact different elements were taken and that’s how the collection was put together. Main objective of this project was to incorporate technical textiles to create haute couture collection. The purpose was to create wearable garments and to give them useful purpose such as garments can be used as fire retardant. One of the garments was designed for a girl aged five years and three other garments were designed for the women. To accomplish this, different boards such as Research boards and Mood board, Color pallet, Digital and manual prints, fabric manipulation, embroidery and embellishments etc. were made. Cotton fabric with special coatings was used to create garments. Firefighters’ uniform is made of three layers. First two layers consist of wool serge and brushed wool while the inner layer is made of cotton. So, cotton was used in the collection as it was more suitable to apply fire retardant finish on it too. The base colors of the collection were orange and khaki. While Black, Red, Blue were used as sub- dominant colors and silver and yellow as accent colors. In embellishments and embroidery, different types of material and stitches were used. This work will be useful for future as it will help reducing the gap between technology and fashion. As now days, we cannot stay away from technology. So, different things were to make a proper and different collection.Item Beauty and beast(UMT.Lahore, 2024) RIMSHA MEHBOOBThis is a life action musical romantic and fantasy Movie. It was composed by Madame Jeanne-Marie Le Prince de Beaumont and issued La Belle ET La Bête in 1757, In this A ¬young female princess as a purpose shows the worth of life lessons Beauty and the Beast, published in 1991 She is a female Disney princess. Bella Her name means beauty. She is a Brave, compassionate, intelligent and beautiful young woman. Her life is full of Many adventures. The Beast is a Young Beautiful prince but he is cursed by a mysterious Enchanter because he has no love within his heart a prince converted into a horrible beast. There were more things that were very fascinating: teacups, teapots and wardrobe. They all are alive. Belle uses a Magical mirror to see her father. By considering the importance of "Beauty and the Beast'' as a related text, Disney makes many changes to her characters. A young Prince lived in a sparkling and splendid palace. One gloomy night an elderly person arrived, offering him a single red rose in kind for shelter from a cold winter storm. Rejected by her cruelty, he turned her away. At that point all of a sudden, she transformed into a wonderful young lady and the ruler turned him into a horrible beast. At that time, she gave him an enchantment reflection and a spellbound rose, captivated that it would bloom until his twenty-first year. To break the enchantment, if he can find Someone and love truly and gain that people love consequently before the last petal falls. Every costume resembled the movie. They all were very lovely and very attractive which added to the magic of the evening. The special effects were very neat and impressive too, they had some explosions when people had to make them vanish mysteriously, elegant sparkles flying during the banquet scene, and lighting tricks and all scenery are very wonderful in different words. It inspired me because it gives a beautiful message that genuine beauty lies within one's character, kindness, and compassion rather than just physical Appearance and also it shows us that it's important to accept others for who they are, to understand and share their feelings, and to love them for their true selves. so, my motive is don’t judge people by its appearance, until we truly understand someone's character and value by observing deeper, beyond external appearances The Beauty and the Beast dress symbolizes the necessity of equal empowerment and representation at all stages of the fashion world because in 2017 Disney has released another edition showcasing gender equality promoter Emma Watson as Belle. She refused to wear a corset in the movie. Her denial to not wear a corset becomes a strong statement, that reminding us only true beauty lies in genuineness and inner strength. The fashion line showcase both beauty and beast in women dresses that will be Experimental with Modern cutlines and colours will be used Blue, yellow, brown and red These colours show Empowerment, Adventure, Loyalty confidence, joy and warmth and fabrics that will be used are velvet, leather, brocade, silk and organza Designs will be made in such way that it is comfortable to wear and different kind of embellishment and 3d embroidery and manipulation will be used in Attire.Item Beauty has no skin tone(UMT.Lahore, 2023) Tayyaba IshaqI chose the Topic Beauty has no Skin Tone (human skin tones) for my thesis because every colour is graceful, whether we're talking about the shades or tones of paints or the tones of the human body.Any hue of brown, from the darkest to the lightest, can be found on human skin. People have varied skin tones due to variations in pigmentation, which can be caused by genetics (inherited from one's biological parents and/or specific gene alleles), exposure to the sun, natural and sexual selection, or any combination of these. Differences between groups have evolved through natural selection or sexual selection as a result of cultural norms, environmental variations, and limitations on the biochemical effects of ultraviolet radiation reaching the skin..Many other factors influence a person's real skin tone, but the pigment melanin is by far the most significant. Melanin is the primary factor in determining the skin tone of those with darker skin because it is created by melanocytes, which are skin cells. The bluish-white connective tissue beneath the dermis and the haemoglobin flowing through the dermal veins mostly affect how light-skinned people's skin appears. When arterioles dilate as a result of physical exertion, sexual excitement, or nervous system excitation (anger, embarrassment), the red colour under the skin becomes more apparent, especially on the face.Human skin tone is a polygenic trait, meaning that it is influenced by many different genes. There are only three gene pairs on distinct chromosomes, and each pair has two alleles: one that is incompletely dominant and codes for melanin deposition, and one that is incompletely recessive and codes for no melanin deposition. Let's say that the dominant alleles for the three genes that affect skin colour are M, N, and O, and that their respective recessive versions are m, n, and o. A very dark-skinned male should have all of the alleles in dominant form and must have the genotype MMNNOO since these alleles demonstrate incomplete dominance. Similarly, a lady with very pale skin should possess all of the alleles. As of 2023, people are still fixated on having white skin, so if you have brown skin, you are not considered beautiful by this society. However, in my opinion, your skin tone does not accurately reflect your inner beauty. Even though we are all humans, for aeons we have allowed differences in skin tone to separate us. The way we interact or treat people has in some way been influenced by their skin colour.. Due to the social consequences of the cultural disparities in skin tone, which are frequently referred to as colorism or shadeism, persons who are perceived to be of a darker-skinned race are treated differently from others who share similar ethnic characteristics . The broad sense heritability of skin colour—defined as the sum of the effects of genetic and nongenetic factors—is relatively high if one is able to account for the most important nongenetic factor, sun exposure.
