Item Intrinsic motivation and academic achievement among university students(University of Management and Technology, 2017) Kiran FatimaThe current study investigates the relationship between academic achievement and intrinsic motivation among university students. It was hypothesized there is likely to be a positive relationship between intrinsic motivation and academic achievement. There is likely to be gender difference in intrinsic motivation and academic achievement. In addition, the research is mainly focused on demographic details including age, gender, institute, parent's education, parent's occupation and specifically on CGPA between university students. It was correlation (cross section) research. Non-probability convenient sample of 105 university students including men=28 and women=77 with the age range from 19-26 (M =22.3, SD =2.03) was collected from private and government universities of Lahore. The scale that used in this research is Academic intrinsic motivation developed by Regina M. Shia. The tests that used in this study are correlation, means and standard deviation and alpha reliability of scales. The result reveals that there was significant difference between the mean score of girls and boys in CGPA. On the other hand, there is no significant difference between the mean score of girls and boys in intrinsic motivation. The result also shows that the correlation between intrinsic motivation and academic achievement is significant.Item Teachers as collaborators in diverse classrooms:(University of Management and Technology, 2017) Arslan Shahzad; Sadia MaqboolCooperative learning method is a pedagogical approach which helps students to develop 21st century's most sought after interpersonal and social skills. In a classroom students taught under cooperative learning approach learn team building and positive independence within the group. Cooperative learning method enhances their academic achievement. Cooperative learning approach is best applicable in diverse classrooms where students from different academic and cultural backgrounds interact and develop diverse knowledge about a specific subject. When students from different cultural backgrounds engage in learning process in a team it also helps them to value each other's opinions. To make sure that all the students are participating in knowledge construction, teacher's role is very principal. Teacher is an essential part in this method. Qualitative method including three focus group discussions coupled with five in-depth interviews conducted with students registered in cohort subjects. Thematic analysis was conducted. Inclusively, conflict management, and the role of curriculum are some of the themes that have emerged.
