Tourism has grown in importance as a field that influences the growth of the country's economy. The key benefits of tourism are the production of income and the development of employment. It is the most significant source of income for many regions and nations. . One reason for the growth of travel and tourism is the increase in the number of bleisure trips. Bleisure is a combination of business and leisure trips, and 72 percent of business travelers now include a leisure component in their business trips. Bleisure is a mix of business and leisure travel, with 72 percent of business travelers now having a leisure aspect in their itinerary. Tourism's positive and negative impacts will characterize employment prospects and enhance an area's income. Many developed countries seek to develop tourism to enhance the quality of services they offer to their tourists. Pakistan's tourism sector is underdeveloped. The current geopolitical situation in the world does not cause the tourism industry to flourish as it does in Malaysia, Thailand, and India. Tourists are afraid to visit Pakistan because of law and order issues and a hostile climate, which is hampering the industry's development. The city of Lahore has launched a sight-seeing bus service for visitors and residents. However, there is a shortage of adequate path distribution and service supply. There are numerous tourist attraction points in Punjab Province's capital city that require proper maintenance in the form of facilities and information. Lahore has tourism potential, which can be developed properly to draw both local and foreign visitors. It would eventually create employment opportunities for people living near tourist attractions, boosting the region's economy. This bus service travels quickly enough to allow for adequate ventilation .We have suggested three routes for sightseeing buses in Lahore: Orange, Purple, and Green. Each route has its own identification, such as the Orange route for historical sites, the Purple route for recreational sites, and the Green route for shopping pace. These three routes cover all of Lahore's major sites: Route 1 covers all of Lahore's historical sites and provides an opportunity to see Lahore in a new light on a one-day trip; Route 2 covers the recreational sites of Lahore and provides an opportunity to see Lahore in a new light on a one-day trip; and Route 3 is unique in that it covers the man made sites and shopping malls. In the event that these roads are blocked due to an emergency, alternate routes will be provided to make the trip more enjoyable, safe, and exciting. This research will be carried out in order to improve the tourism industry in Lahore, which will aid in revenue generation and the development of a friendly, amenity rich climate. Our research subject is sightseeing in Lahore. “Sightseeing Lahore” TDCP's that is first Double Decker Bus Service in Pakistan (Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab). The project provides tours of spectacular Lahore via open roof Double Decker Bus. While inside the bus, you will be captivated by the city's vibrant colors, buzzing bazaars, rich heritage and culture, modern architecture, and Mughal spirit. But don't only take our word for it; come and see for yourself how our world-class offerings will benefit you. The project has received a resoundingly positive reception from both domestic and international visitors.

COMPARISON OF CONTEMPORARY BRICKS WITH THE BRICKS USED DURING THE BRITISH COLONIAL PERIOD

The bricks are frequently used in construction as building material everywhere in the world. The British colonial buildings in Lahore city were mainly constructed with fair face clay bricks (Locally available building material). Major parts of the British Colonial buildings are made of bricks with lime mortar and also cement mortar (which was used at the end of this era). The different forms and styles of bricks are frequently used in the building facade. The study is aimed at to highlight the qualities of a durable brick and proper selection of clay for the manufacturing of a salt free brick. This study is focused on the analysis of the contemporary bricks and the bricks used for construction during the British colonial period with an objective to find out whether the bricks used in British colonial period are more durable than contemporary bricks, and the reasons behind the salt deports on contemporary brick masonry. It further highlights the importance of the clay selection in brick manufacturing and the factors which matter in producing a better quality of clay brick. It was considered to assemble data regarding international standard and significance of the brick, its manufacturing process and use throughout the British period to to-date. It included manufacturing of brick and to assess general causes of salt appearance on the face of brickwork. Proper samples of the British colonial building bricks were taken from various buildings constructed during different times in British Raj. These samples were tested in laboratory of Building Research Station Punjab Building Department C&W Government of the Punjab and Laboratories of the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. The buildings were also physically examined and various causes of deterioration / appearance of salt were identified. The data collection included photographic evidence and drawings. After collection of data, it was analyzed and compared with respect to its chemical composition, clay quality, clay selection, shapes, strength, manufacturing process, burning process, and uses in the buildings and then the conclusions were drawn. These valuable results helped in the formulation of recommendations for brick masonry
Analytical Study of Urban Street Shopping in Lahore (MM Alam Road Renovación Urbana)

The focus of this research is to study street shopping facilities in the city of Lahore with particular emphasis on MM Alam Road, in comparison to other international shopping areas for the determination of community leisure activities. The present research also highlights the historical trends of shopping and development of modern shopping perspectives in relation to human leisure. MM Alam Road, Lahore like many other commercial roads was not planned to be a commercial district and contains some inherent limitations that cannot be ignored. Detailed data was collected through surveys of existing conditions, LDA bye-laws and their pros and cons have been discussed, related to upgrading and revamping of MM Alam Road. A comparative analysis of Champs Elysees Street, Paris and MM Alam Road has also been done. The design and guidelines are proposed to envision a place, where people actually want to be for shopping or dining without any excuse for them to be there. For a good shopping street where people would like to be, should be safe, comfortable, beautiful and interesting with a lot of varietyin choices and quality available. The design solutions for key problems like management of traffic, parking and pedestrian facilities have been discussed. Some changes in the LDA bye-laws for this road have also been proposed. A critical analysis of the recent up-gradation and other infrastructure facilities is also included. Proposed revamping of the MM Alam Road aims to develop it compatible to the Champs Elysees Street in possible terms/limits keeping in mind the different regions/cultures of the two cities.

This project lies its basis in the exploration of a hidden pearl of nature, in relation to its significance with respect to space ,time and its ethnicity, with an intent to seek equilibrium between the existing natural structure and architectural development for the benefits of Nation and its people. The project will comprise of a lakeside destination resort development with amenities of public interest and temporary accommodation. Watersides and landforms always inspire people to rejoice themselves by taking a break from their daily work routines or long term vacations. Thus my concern here is to create a recreational hub at a natural site adjacent to Simli Lake in Islamabad encompassing the ecological treasure of green mountains.

The luxury hotel industry has become a significant segment of the general. Hotel star rating systems are widely recognized as the definitive way to ascertain a hotel's overall quality, but the rankings can differ wildly from one country to another. As it turns out, each country usually has its own way to rank hotels from one to five stars, established by a range of authorities, from tourism bodies to government agencies. But while there's no international standard that hotels across the world adhere to, stars do pertain to a hotel's level of service, amenities, cleanliness, location and price. Hospitality industry and is undergoing expeditious expansions. The aim of thesis project is to understand the technical function of a hotel complex. Its relationship with surrounding with emphasis on exterior setting in conjunction with interior view and outlook. Hotel provides regarding tourism, recreation, business etc. The city of Faisalabad is referred to as business heart of Pakistan. Welcome a lot of foreigner’s business class for trading and other purposes. For this reason my motto is to provide luxurious accommodation and services to these users that they should not be deprived of having a hotel with standards facilities. Besides solving out the accommodation problems I have an opportunity to solve problems in hotel design and create interesting forms and good views through natural and built environments.
A STUDY OF CONSERVATION ISSUES OF THE MUGHAL TOMBS IN HISTORIC CITY OF LAHORE (CASE STUDY: TOMB OF DAI ANGA)

Architectural conservation is an important process for keeping alive the “identity” of a particular structure. Pakistan is a country of great diversity. Most of the monuments, buildings and sites are deteriorating with the passage of time. Lahore, the city of garden, is the core of Pakistan for its cultural and traditional background. Therefore, it is a representative of the entire country. Mughals Architecture is quite unique. Being poetic in nature, Mughals were always keen to learn about beauty and that is clearly visible in their designs too. The thesis gives introduction to Jahangir‟s Tomb, Noor Jahan Tomb, Anarkali tomb, Zeb-un-Nisa Tomb, Prince Pervaiz tomb, Dai Anga Tomb etc. The selection of one Mughal tomb will represent the present condition of all other deteriorating tombs as well. Dai Anga tomb is the perfect example of a deteriorating historic structure, highlighting the issues of other tombs in Lahore. Tomb of Dai Anga was constructed by Mirza Sultan Beg. Dai Anga was wet nurse of Shah Jahan. Dai Anga tomb also has a gateway, gulabi bagh gateway. On the road to Shalimar, next to the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, on the left is the gateway to Gulabi Bagh and the elegant tomb of Dai Anga itself. For the purpose of study, the history of the site was studied. The site was thoroughly observed, measurements were taken and the plans were made. Horizontal and vertical arrangements of the tomb as well as the gateway were carefully measured. Listed status of the tomb was confirmed. Picturization of the present condition of the site, the tomb and gateway was done. The materials used on the external façade and interiors were studied and carefully observed. It was observed that the view of whole site is changed because of the construction of orange line train project. The tomb and gateway is in the worst condition, seems like it has not been conserved in ages. The fine fresco work and inscriptions of the Holy Quran are also not completely visible. The blue and yellow tile work and floral wall paintings have now faded away. There is garbage and dirty stuff all around the tomb which gives a very unpleasant sight. Some recommendations were given which include immediate repairs like maintenance of graves, walls and the floors. The brick work which is deteriorating from different places & the cracks need to be fixed as soon as possible otherwise the structure will fall apart. Renovation is to be done for the fresco work and the glazed tiles used for the interior and exterior of the building. The walls should be repaired throughout with Pucca brick laid in lime. The floral pattern used inside the building should be taken care of. Because of the orange line project, the entire site is covered with dust and debris. So this debris has to be thrown away. The two graves inside the mausoleum are made up of bricks which seem to be fallen apart from some places. These places should be properly covered in order to give respect to the graves. The mosaic tile work should be done on the whole façade in order to keep the structure in its original setting. Main colors for the whole decoration includes Black, Crimson red, green, blue and yellow, therefore these colors should be used.
A STUDY OF HASAN ABDAL TOWN: AIMING TOWARDS THE FORMULATION OF CONSERVATION PLAN FOR ITS CENTRAL HISTORIC ZONE

Hasan Abdal, an old historic town located in northern Punjab, exhibits diverse remnants from the times of Buddhist, Mughal, Sikh and British invaders. These remnants make this town a tourist attraction, owing to the exquisite Mughal gardens and numerous significant historical monuments located in the central zone of the town, and an eminent religious destination, due to Sikh Gurdwara of Punja Sahib. The rapid growth in population, accompanied with unplanned expansion of the built environment of the town accommodating, residential and commercial needs has shattered the spiritual and historical essence of the town’s urban fabric all over the world. As a result, prominent historical monuments like Tomb and Garden of Lalarukh, Maqbara Hakeeman have decayed and are in dire need of attention. Conservation, preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of these monuments will result in preservation of this national treasure and historic tradition of the town. The aim of this research was to generate an appropriate conservation plan for the central zone of Hasan Abdal through analytical study of various historic town’s plans nationally and internationally. This was undertaken by identifying the significant historical monuments through reconnaissance survey, interviews and literature review. After developing the master plan, the identified monuments were categorized according to their historical importance and location. Finally, a conservation plan is devised in the light of ICOMOS and UNESCO guidelines keeping in view the current conservation practices and legislation in Pakistan
PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF TRADE CENTRE FOR TDAP AT FAISALABAD, PAKISTAN

Design of a high-rise office building or trade centre, like any engineering design, is a complex multidisciplinary process with the objective to discover, detail and construct a system to fulfill a given set of performance requirements. The office building is one of the great icons of the twentieth century. Office towers dominate the skylines of cities in every continent. As the most visible index of economic activity, of social, technological, and financial progress, they have come to symbolize much of what this century has been about. To accomplish this impact, the buildings must benefit from an integrated design approach that focuses on meeting a list of objectives. Through integrated design, a new generation of high-performance office buildings is beginning to emerge that offers owners and users increased worker satisfaction and productivity, improved health, greater flexibility, and enhanced energy and environmental performance. Typically, these projects apply life-cycle analysis to optimize initial investments in architectural design, systems selection, and building construction.
WILDLIDE SANCTUARY

My thesis is to bring an idea of modern zoo by reviving an old dead Forest. Through my study of this subject, I intent to design a zoo cum safari by introducing a part of zoo 360 while keeping in mind about the ecological system and zoographical display of exhibits. In order to prevent the animals from being extinct. I am planning to educate public as well as by conserving the species, I am design s space for people around the world. A vet care center is also introduced to the site for the better care of animals and their proper nourishment. A wild life sanctuary depicts the deep relation of wildlife to their home which is break due to urbanization. By the increase of urbanization today. Man is losing its most essential interaction with the natural world. My interest is to create a balance between animals and nature which is not properly developed in our country. Animals required a habitat of their type; to survive it is necessary to give them an atmosphere where they can breed.

IMPACT OF LAND USE CONVERSION ON BUILT ENVIRONMENT OF PLANNED NEIGHBORHOODS OF LAHORE (A CASE STUDY OF WAPDA TOWN LAHORE)

Lahore, the city of gardens as the provincial capital of Punjab and the fourteenth most populous city of world have gone through major physical spatial expansion due to continuous population increase. The land use of the city is in continuous transformation due to population increase and is expanding in south and south east directions through planned settlements. Land being an important resource accommodates the expansion and various activities within the residential areas of the city. Wapda town cooperative housing society is a planned public society located in the southern part of Lahore. Presently the situation of the society was not the same 15 years back. Transformation of land use is one of the issues, to be addressed immediately. Increase in land use change in residential areas and formation of main streets as a commercial street greatly affects in terms of increased neighborhood density and overloading the existing infrastructural facilities. This has questioned that how these transformations took place and what the strong factors behind this are. To find the solution to such questions it was therefore essential to analyze the structure and pattern of the land use changes. Neighborhoods are important for their residents; it has significant implications on neighborhood satisfaction which is affected by various factors of the neighborhood built environment. The impacts are usually felt by the people residing in the society. Therefore a correlation exists between the neighborhood built environment and its resident‟s satisfaction. The proposed area of research is the identification of factors causing land use change and their impacts on neighborhood built environment. The study mainly focused on the information obtained through available literature and data collected through physical surveys that enabled to explore the transformation of designated land use pattern of Wapda town cooperative housing III society. It helped in selecting the main roads of Wapda town where maximum number of conversion was seen and identifies the causes of its conversion. A comparative analysis of residential and commercial property users has been done in order to evaluate the overall satisfaction level on physical, social and economic grounds through yeh‟s index of satisfaction. The study of users revealed that overall satisfaction level among residential property users lies in negative range whereas for users of commercial property give it a positive value. This indicates that economically the commercialization has created positive impacts however in this prospect, commercialization is causing detrimental impacts on environmental and social factors of the built environment. The findings suggest that policy makers should enact such laws which can strengthen land use management and maintain quality of life for the residents. Thus reducing the negative and adverse effects of property conversion and causing dissatisfaction among residents. To create a livable environment for the resident‟s, integration of physical, social and economic considerations by proper land use pattern must be maintained. Furthermore government should introduce an investment framework that encourages the building of shopping centers as well as apartments catering both the residential and commercial users. By doing so, they can provide more customized built environments; increasing residents‟ life satisfaction.

It is a lonely existence to be a child with a disability which no-one can see or understand, you exasperate your teachers, you disappoint your parents, and worst of all you know that you are not just stupid.” –Susan Hampshire The straight fact is that the physically and mentally disabled in Pakistan do not receive the support that would be common in a society sensitive and compassionate towards their disabled citizens. They are heckled, disrespect and pointed out as different by the population at large. Furthermore our public infrastructure does not incorporate suitable design features to aid the disabled in the public realm thus leaving them at the mercy of difficulties beyond those they are already facing. Worst of all, disabled children suffer greatly in their education due to inadequate facilities, incompetent teachers, deficient teaching methodologies and severely lacking awareness schemes for the general public. It is of utmost importance to address issues regarding the education of special children, not only for the children themselves but the ensure a healthy society and a sustainable economy. Reports by the World Bank, UNDP (United Nations Development Program) and UNICEF )United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund) point towards the long term unsustainability of economic growth, unless strategic shifts are instituted to improve social sector performance. At the helm of their efforts is to establish and institute which will serve as the crown jewel of their efforts to counter the challenge of special children education. To provide these children with all the educational & training facilities to enhance their capabilities and rehabilitate them in the society.” Furthermore, it will set the precedent for the design of public infrastructure, which facilitates the disabled in the public realm. The project will be comprised of main school building, college facility, administration block, health center, hostel for children and staff members playing areas, training center etc
DEPENDENCY TO INDEPENDENCY

God has created us to serve others not to divide within ourselves. The needy ones suffer every single day without any delay, they are being shunned by the society, they are tortured mentally and physically without any fear. Therefore there is dismal need to create a platform which could serve them with shelter, food and a much better way of style. The most important thing is that the percentage of poor people is increasing day by day instead of getting decreased. Due to which our country is suffering so much and it is not touching skyline of success and achievements the way it should. The government is not playing its role infact it is not even providing its rights to them as promised. The non-governmental organizations which are working for the rights of needy are not working actively, and if they are working they can’t afford that much. From a list of those NGO’s the only charitable trust which is working round the clock irrespective of cast color and creed is, Edhi foundation which serves the humanity in its pure form. Therefore I am planning to provide a platform which will act as a catalyst to serve the humanity. This platform will be provided through Edhi foundation which will provide shelter, food and a better lifestyle to the people which are in dismal need of help. This platform will not only help them but will also educate them and make them to contribute in the society as well. The goal of this project is to set an example and demonstrate how, even with those difficulties, adolescents can be reinserted back into society successfully, leaving their gloomy past behind
CASTLE IN C LOUDS (A Place beyond the Imagination)

In this era of chaos, unemployment, inflation what should be the role of an architecture student? It is never too hard to bring light, color and play in the buildings we design but that is not the only thing we need to do. What we all need to do is to create something that brings attachment, bondage and emotions with the architecture. It should not just give employment but should be a new charming activity that would motivate, relax, encourage the youth to think beyond reality and come up with new creative ideas. Pakistan needs to create architectural attractions. The only thing we lack is the forum for recreational activities. It not only creates revenues but also gets fame if it is of an international standard. We living in Pakistan soul totally promote our culture. But we also need to bring new ideas regarding architecture to start working in a new direction on which the whole world is moving. Every country has theme parks for which they are famous. The culture of theme parks should also be promoted in Pakistan because we do not have a single proper theme park.

The objective of the project is to promote art and design education in that area .During research the informative data has been collected by doing case studies of the national college of art Lahore and the institute of art and design Punjab University. Many discussions were done about project with teachers and students. A questionnaire survey was also conducted for the collection of data. Many reference books were used from library and internet. The CPEC is an ongoing development mega project which aims to connect Gwadar Port of Pakistan to China’s northwestern region of Xinjiang, via a network of highways, railways and pipelines. The economic corridor is considered central to China–Pakistan relations and will run about 2700 km from Gwadar to Kashghar. 50 billion dollars bilateral investment by both countries in different sectors like defence,transportation,energy,mining,coal,infrastructure,health,education and sports but very important factor of Culture in totally neglected. according official reports of Chinese Government approx one billion Chinese people will visit Pakistan annually. Two major arteries are passing through the Pakistan to join Gwadar are Eastern Rout and western rout. Site of proposed P.C.C.C is Located at the Bank of River indusKalabagh(MIANWALI) where the eastern and western Cpec routs are interlinked by a highway mianwali is situated at the border of KpK and Punjab so by the Virtue of That it is the junction of three diverse cultures Afghans,Punjabies and Sairaikies/ancient Sindhies. Naturally landscaped, wast presence of wildlife species availability of Beautiful flora and fauna. Pakistan has a very rich and diverse Culture so it needs to be represent at global level to complement our local art culture.So first and foremost purpose of proposed thesis project of P.C.C.C to design an interactive cultural complex for the people of china and Pakistan where they can perform cultural activities. Cultural complex will be a place where artistic activities would be generated to bring closer the people of both countries and know about each others. It will be a great Platform to present and appreciate our local culture and heritage and making it the centre of attraction for tourism ,entertainment and education at same place.

Music is composed and performed for many purposes, ranging from aesthetic pleasure, religious or ceremonial purposes, or as an entertainment product for the marketplace. As Pakistan, a country in Southern Asia, has a rich culture and heritage. Formerly, a part of 'Hindustan', it became an independent country, but the cultural beliefs and other cultural values were adopted by both the nations. Music in specific has the lead in commonness. Due to globalization, one can easily share and see what things are being proposed, adapted or discovered in different parts of the world, same as the music. Pakistan being one of the versatile countries has a talent of devouring things easily. The type of instruments played, and the number of languages being spoken here are countless which makes Pakistan as optimistic country. The main purpose of this project is to provide opportunity to those people who are interested in moving further with their skills in the field of music. Not just focusing on the temperament of the local region but mastering the western side of the music as well. Music arrived at the forefront of my mind when considering topics I might reference when creating architecture. This undoubtedly happened due to a personal interest I have in music as it lies at the very core of my upbringing. This thesis report progresses in a specific manner such that the special topics are taken into consideration in the beginning and going down further into detailed discussions from then. This is done so, such that one is given a proper understanding to how the design was evolved and what plays the design deciding factors.
