Design and Development of Web Application of Airline Financial Management for Educational Purposes.

The motivation for this study is to develop an application that helps students study the various aspects of aviation that extends from selecting the route and type of aircraft to understanding the financial features of an airline in decision making. Basically, it will help students of aviation management to enhance their understanding and skills as well as a supporting tool for the faculty because in near future a vast involvement of e-learning in the structure shall be observed. The design of the software in based on the textbook of Airlines Financial Management a collaborative effort of Bijan Vasigh, Kenneth Fleming and Barry Humphreys, whose pertinent chapters have been selected for exercises used in this software. Software Program verification has been done by Adeel Sohail Farman and its validation has been carried out with the help of an online software AirwaySim. To measure its effectiveness a feedback through a questionnaire has also been circulated among the faculty of Institute of Aviation Studies (IAS) at University of Management and Technology (UMT). The result of the feedback is discussed in chapter number four of this report. At the end, recommendations are also made to propose future directions in improving this software
