Item Relationship between work stress and performance of university faculty(UMT Lahore, 2022-07-13) Anam KhurshidThe purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between work stress and teacher performance. Therefore, the statement of the problem is designed as a “Relationship between Work Stress and performance of teachers at university level.” The aim of the study was 1) to identify the perceived level of work stress of teachers at the university level, 2) to identify the perceived level of performance of teachers at the university level, 3) to explore the relationship between work stress and performance, and 4) to examine the role of demographic variables in work stress and the performance of teachers. Research design means the structure of investigation that is aimed to identify variables and their relationship. This study was descriptive type and quantitative in nature. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between work stress and teacher performance. It is therefore an outline or scheme that serves as a useful guide to the researcher in his effort to generate data for his study. The researchers, therefore, adopted the survey method for data collection. The population of the study will be all public and private universities in Lahore city. There are 14 public and 21 private sectors of universities in Lahore. By random sampling technique, the questionnaire evaluated “the relationship between workplace stress and performance of teachers.” The sample selected by the researcher was all teachers from the universities. The questionnaire was used to examine the work stress and teacher performance in universities. It determines the prevention for work stress and teacher performance. This study was quantitative in nature. The sample comprised all public and private Higher Education Institutes of Lahore. Random sampling technique was used to measure the work stress and teacher performance. 300 teachers were selected from Higher Education Institutes of Lahore. A questionnaire which is self-developed by the researcher for teachers is designed on a Likert scale rating to get answers of teachers about perceptions, relationship between work stress and teacher performance. Designed factors were (Perceptions on existing of related on work, time management, overloaded, lack of motivation, and teacher performance). Questionnaires consisted of 43 items. Data was analyzed through SPSS. Appropriate tests were used to analyze data. The tests included descriptive, T-Test, and ANOVA. The study examined the “Relationship between workplace stress and teacher performance.” The findings highlight that demographic variables like gender, age, qualification, experience, employment contract, years of academic experience, and marital status affect workplace stress and teacher performance. These demographic variables affect the term workplace stress and teacher performance. The findings of this study suggest that student bullying might make teachers feel uncomfortable in their jobs, causing stress. These findings may be utilized to design successful solutions for not just preventing and managing workplace stress and teacher performance, but also for making schools safer for teachers.
