dc.description.abstractUsage of social media is the most conjoint activity of the youth of present age. All those sites that allow social interactions considered social media. The purpose of the present study to explore; how social media (Facebook) is playing its role in the youth development in Pakistan. To meet the objectives of the research the research adopted the qualitative research design. Then by adopting the purposive sampling eleven communities(n=11) of the Facebook was selected. A thematic analysis was done on the collected data from selected communities. The results of the analysis showed that social media plays its positive role while contributing in the various aspects of youth development. The positive contributions of the social media explored by the study are Self-Realization of youth, developing the Punctuality among youth, to motivate youth for Hard Work/Struggle, to optimize the youth, socialize the youth for Freedom of Speech, developed tolerance among youth, Ethics Uplift of youth, socialization of Positive actions, awareness about Ecosystem, educate the youth, motivate the youth for Goal Setting, and conscious the youth about the worth of time. The present study recommended that it is the responsibility of every individual at all levels (individual, group, community, public organization and NGOs) to share something on social media for youth as it is amost effective tool for youth development which is in the access of all individuals.en_US
