Effects of Big Five Personality Traits on Student’s Commitment to the Field of Aviation

Abstract
This study investigated the relationship between personality traits and student's commitment
to the field of aviation. A sample of 352 students enrolled in an aviation management
program at different universities in Lahore completed a personality test and a survey on their
commitment to the field of aviation. Further, the data was computed through regression
analysis. The results showed that students who scored high on Extraversion and Openness to
experience were more likely to be committed to a career in aviation. These findings suggest
that personality traits can be used to identify students who are more likely to succeed in the
aviation industry.
