Abstract
The purpose of this research was to explore the relationship between Perceived Social Support, Resilience and Psychological Distress in diabetic patients. The patients were taken from hospital and clinic settings. The. Correlational research design was used to identify the relationship between these variables and purposive sampling was used to obtain the data (N= 50). The present study comprised of demographic sheet, MultiDimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (Zimet et al.,1988). Resilience Scale for University Students (Khadim & Saleem, 2015), DASS-21. Pearson Product Correlation and Regression were applied to find the results of main hypothesis in the study. Findings of results shows that Perceived family support have significantly positive relationship with self-confidence while having significant negative relationship with Robustness and Psychological distress. Also results shows that Perceived family support have significant positive relationship with problem solving and psychological distress. Along with this findings indicate that perceived support from significant others have significant positive relationship with self-confidence but significant negative relationship with robustness, problem solving and psychological distress such as anxiety. In Pakistani Culture, the link between perceived social support, resilience, and psychological distress in diabetic adults has implications for culturally adapted interventions. Promoting family involvement, addressing stigma, and integrating mental health services can enhance well-being and coping strategies in diabetic patients. Also Future researches would explore incorporate family support, address stigma, and integrate mental health services to enhance wellbeing and coping in diabetic adults dealing with perceived social support, resilience, and psychological distress.
