Abstract
Land Record Information & Management System is an advance system to manage the land by digital ways.
This system ensures efficiency, integration and transparency in managing land records. Land Record
Management and Information System (LRMIS) in Lahore, Pakistan. The study examines the performance,
and effectiveness of the LRMIS in digitizing and managing land records to improve transparency, efficiency,
and accessibility within the city's land administration. The objective of this case study is to develop an
understanding of the lfor and administration system, benchmark Pakistan’s current land management system,
outline features and propose an efficient and integrated land management and information system after
assessing the current system’s loopholes. The research employs qualitative data collection approach gathered
from various sources. The qualitative analysis involves conducting interviews and focus group discussions
and questionnaire surveys with key stakeholders, such as government officials, property developers, and real
estate agents. This process aims to gauge their perspectives, experiences, and perceptions of the LRMIS,
including its user-friendliness, reliability, and responsiveness to their needs.
Additionally, the study examines the extent to which the LRMIS has reduced incidents of land disputes,
minimized fraudulent practices, and improved overall land governance in Lahore. Moreover, the research
delves to device features which works as an essential to improve current Land record information and
management system. Recommendations are proposed both from stakeholders and we enlighten tis study by
designing a prototype. The findings of this study will contribute valuable insights to policymakers, land
administrators, and other stakeholders involved in land management and digitization initiatives. By
understanding the strengths and limitations of the LRMIS in Lahore, stakeholders can make informed
decisions to enhance the system's effectiveness, ensuring sustainable land governance and equitable access to
land resources in the city.
