Abstract
In past decade, there has been a significant advancement in field of electronics. Intelligent appliances like mobile phones, air conditioners, lights, fans are set to introduce the concept of HAS (Home automation system). Nowadays home automation control and monitoring systems is playing important role in human life. It not only permits us to control various appliances but also ensure safety, energy saving and reduce human efforts. This paper gives a better review of systems which is based on existing technologies and also proposes a simple solution, low cost, flexible and user friendly home automation system. Proposed System includes two operational modes and it can easily be connected into existing building’s electrical system and allows the person to use automation of house hold appliance. The first one is denoted as manual mode in which user switch on or off appliances by pressing button. The second one is referred as automated mode that makes the user capable of controlling electrical appliances automatically using different technologies. The system at its best when controlled by a RF remote control or with the help of Bluetooth enabled device such as an android mobile phone or laptop through serial communication and by using visual basic with Adriano while a computer acts as server. Using current technologies, to design and implement an idea which will be really beneficial to the others is a real big contribution to humanity .The main purpose of this project is not only to assist disabled and old aged people in order to fulfill their needs but also enhance living standard at home also. Due to its simple, flexible and cost effective approach, the proposed system has a great market potential in future.
