dc.description.abstractThe main purpose of the present research is to explore the socio-economic factors of female criminality in district Jail Gujranwala. The women criminality is changing with the passage of time through industry, technology, communication, transportation, and the effect of mass media. For the present study, thirteen females were selected from target population as a case through convenient sampling technique based on inclusion criteria that their punishment was declared by court. An interview guide was prepared comprising on the themes including socio-demographic characteristics, criminal history, social and economic factors to conduct in-depth interview for the present study. The study findings show that the female committed crime due to economic hurdles, family issues, lust and greed, respect and family worth and love as well. Study suggested that there is dare need to strengthen women’s role at family to eliminate women criminality in Pakistan.en_US
