Abstract
The increasing reliance on Agile methodology in Pakistan’s rapidly evolving IT sector
underscores the need for leadership behaviours that align with Agile principles to drive project
success. This study explores the relationship between Agile methodology and project success,
with a specific focus on the moderating role of digital leadership behaviour. Using a quantitative
research approach, data was collected from IT professionals, including project managers and
Agile practitioners. Statistical analyses, including regression, correlation, and reliability tests
conducted via SPSS, confirm a strong positive correlation between Agile practices such as sprint
planning, retrospectives, and stakeholder collaboration and project success. Additionally, digital
leadership enhances Agile adoption by fostering collaboration, innovation, and effective decision
making, further amplifying its impact on project performance. The findings indicate that digital
leadership plays a critical role in overcoming organizational barriers such as hierarchical
decision-making and resistance to change, which often hinder Agile implementation in Pakistan’s
IT industry. This study highlights the need for leadership transformation and organizational
adaptation to fully leverage Agile methodologies for long-term success. The research provides
valuable insights for IT organizations, policymakers, and researchers on the strategic integration
of Agile and digital leadership to enhance efficiency, adaptability, and competitiveness in the IT
sector.
