Economic Initiatives for Transgender community

Abstract
Transgender is an umbrella term that refers to a variety of gender identities that do not align with the sex assigned at birth. It includes people whose gender identity is different from their assigned sex, such as trans men, trans women, and non-binary individuals, among others. The term covers a broad spectrum of gender experiences, expressions, and transitions. This study explores the potential for collaborative efforts among organizations dedicated to transgender empowerment in Pakistan, focusing on the Akhuwat Foundation and its partnership opportunities with entities such as Transaction Pakistan, Gender Interactive Alliance (GIA), the Khawaja Sira Society, and the SAATHI Foundation. Through synthesizing their respective strengths and initiatives, this collaboration aims to address the multifaceted challenges faced by transgender individuals comprehensively. In Pakistan, the transgender population is estimated to range from 500,000 to 1 million, though actual numbers may be higher due to underreporting.
