Abstract
The prevalence of Childhood obesity is increasing day by day. This research conducted to explore the association between power nap and risk of obesity using anthropometric measurements, waist circumference percentile, BMI percentile and usual dietary intake for evaluating the risk of obesity related metabolic conditions. Factors that lead to childhood obesity are poor dietary habits, low physical activity, more screen time and lack of nutritional knowledge in parents. There was no prior research done on power nap and its association with obesity. The main purpose of this research is to give awareness among people about the exact meaning of power nap and its impact on their daily dietary routine. The result of this study shows there is significant impact of fiber, vitamin A and calcium on power nappers and non-nappers. The intervention for pediatric obesity is limited. We should acknowledge all factors contributing the risk of obesity i.e. circadian cycle. Researches also support biphasic sleeping patterns. However, there are certain limitations regarding to the concerned topic, which shows that more research needed.
