| dc.description.abstract | Online personals have been a remarkably successful in the Western World and have been emulated in other cultural contexts. The introduction of the Internet can have vastly different implications on traditional societies and practices such as arranged marriages in Pakistan. Further, the use of matrimonial websites has implications for family disintermediation, cultural convergence and continuous information flows. This project aims to develop a matrimonial website focusing the Pakistani audience with privacy and security in mind. For this purpose, identities of each registered user are verified before listing on the website. Additionally, Symfony2 PHP Framework is used to speed up the creation and maintenance of our application. A state-of-the-art web design has implemented using HTML5 and CSS3. | |
