Abstract
This study explores the experience of Pakistani students using mobile language learning app Duolingo for the first time. Through a mixed-methods approach, including surveys, SPSS analysis, and Thematic analysis of interviews of the participants, the research explores usage patterns, motivations, and challenges. The findings reveal that while gamification and app features motivate some learners many participants struggle with consistency and confidence. The study highlights cultural and educational factors influencing these preferences and suggests directions for enhancing mobile learning tools.
