Given the primacy of faith in the lives of the Muslims, it should not be surprising that they try to view the whole spectrum of happenings and events from international conflicts to domestic strife and more from the prism of Islam. In trying to do so they either put their own interpretations on the events in the light of their understanding of Islam or they seek explanations and guidance from a priest or doyen of their respective denominations. The distressing scenario we presently witness is that Ulema and followers of one sect are at logger heads with another sect, freely declaring each other kafir. This current study aims at, ‘Exploring the Determinants of Peaceful Coexistence within the Muslim Sunni Sect in the light of Qur’an and Sunnah’. Qualitative research method has been used for the purpose. An open ended questionnaire was designed for interviewing the religious teachers and scholars with minimum qualification of Dars-e-Nizami, MA Islamiat / Arabic and above. Sixty respondents were taken, through purposive sampling, associated with different Sunnisub-sects including Barelvi, Deobandi, Hanafi, Ahl-e-Hadith, Salafi, Shafi’i, Matureedi, Malki etc.
