Abstract
The purpose of this study is to ascertain school teachers’ perceptions about motivation and effective teaching to assess self-efficacy beliefs of teachers to motivate students; whether or not teachers are self motivated towards effective teaching; to which motivational strategies teachers use for effective teaching in their classroom. Finally, to gain an understanding of how self-efficacy beliefs are translated into effective teaching and professional commitment. Further, this study will assess what is the relationship between personal motivation, effective teaching and professional commitment. This study might use to evaluate teachers perceptions about their beliefs to assess their professional commitment with the help of the model presented in the study. The data was collected by 400 participants from different districts of Punjab. The results show a significant relationship among teachers’ perceptions about motivation, effective teaching and professional commitment. Also there is a positive correlation among teachers’ self- efficacy beliefs to apply effective teaching strategies to enhance motivation among students.
