Abstract
Our project is meant to facilitate automatic parallel parking of vehicles. Parallel parking a vehicle is considered to be one of the most difficult tasks that drivers have to perform. People often struggle to park parallel accurately, resulting in damage both to their as well as adjacent vehicles. This difficulty is also compounded by the fact that parallel parking is very time consuming.
For this purpose we decided to build a robotic car that can identify a parking space while passing through a street and automatically park in that available space. So once the car identifies a space for parking, the next task is to determine whether the available space is large enough for the car to fit in. If so, then the car will start the parking procedure until it is parked in that given space. It will remain in that position after being parked until the car's mechanism is reset.
