In the present world, terrorism has become an international issue. Every now and then we hear such activities at both national and international level. Self-protection has always been a primary concern of any human being. The present state of our country can be best explained by the phrase “Kill or get killed”. In this current scenario of Pakistan, it is essential for everyone to have the means to save himself and his loved one from any mishaps caused by such activities. People are being victims of target killings, bomb blasts etc. Considering this situation we have come up with an idea to provide protection to people and their belongings. Our project is basically an experimental study on the use of disposed of tires as armors against bullets, shrapnel and any type of ballistic projectiles. We have used Single Factor Design to do experiments on tire strips which would be able to stop bullets of a pistol. The fundamental approach in this experiment is the orientation in which tire strips are used to stop the bullets. The tires strips contain steel wires mesh which provides extra strength to rubber. The use rubber is also beneficial because of its properties like Viscoelasticity, good friction etc.en_US
