Abstract
Employee motivation is a well-researched area. There have been many tools and techniques developed for employee motivation which compels them to work hard. To evaluate employee, work and appraise them accordingly different performance appraisal tools are devised. It is an important tool to judge whether the organization is managing its workforce effectively or not. It also helps to analyze the potential of employees, explore their leadership skills and identify the successors for all the key positions. The purpose of this study is to diagnose the issues with current appraisal system of Ittehad Chemicals Pvt Ltd. and sub areas of performance being effected due to these issues. The study is exploratory in nature. By doing this extensive research we intend to identify the issues behind poor evaluation which is strongly affecting the organizations’ fecundity.For this purpose, internal and external analysis was done.For internal analysis preliminary data was collected from managers of 9 different departments of Ittehad Chemicals through interviews and its world cloud analysis was done through NVIVO .For external analysis the secondary data was taken for comparison of Ittehad Chemicals with its competitors Sitara Chemicals and Angro chemicals in the areas of performance evaluation compensation and benefit system ,training and development opportunities and communication and feedback mechanism .After cross matching of results of internal and external analysis few areas were identified that were being effected due to the flaws in appraisal system .We have also inculcated the clues taken from cloud analysis to verify the most severe issues responsible for poor evaluation system .We found appraisal form as the main factor behind poor employee evaluation .But issue need to be resolved from the roots So, a new appraisal form is proposedbyfirst aligning employee job descriptions according to organization and department vision and mission statement. In the next step HR department employee KPI and KPA is created. This proposed solution will improve the productivity of HR department.
