AN IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS OF POLITICAL MANIFESTOS AND PUBLIC OPINION FROM THE 2018 GENERAL ELECTIONS

Abstract
This thesis explores the intricated relationship between political manifestoes and public opinion in case of Pakistan. It analyzed the manifestoes of four major political parties (PTI, PML-N, PPP, and MQM) during the elections of 2018. It sheds the light on public’s general understanding of such documents and decision-making process. By using comparative and content analysis techniques research extracted major themes and features present in the manifestos which focus upon foreign policy, economy, environment, health, social welfare, security, human rights, education, constitutional protection, and democratic approaches.
