The links between self-efficacy, social support, and academic performance are well supported in the literature. The number of people, and the perceived satisfaction with the support they offer, is positively correlated with academic performance, as it reduces stress and influences an individual’s choice of coping mechanism. Self-efficacy influences academic performance byestablishing positive behavioral patterns that result in individuals exerting more effort on a given task among other things. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the influence of social support and academic self-efficacy on the students’ academic performance. Data was collected through secondary tools from randomly selected sample of 200 in Karachi University. Data was analyzed through SPSS via operating correlation and regression statistics. The results of the study showed that academic performance of university students significantly explained by their social support and self-efficacy. Possible reasons for these results are discussed, as well as future directions for research in this area.
