The Effects of Menstrual Hygiene Management on Girl’s School attendance and Academic Achievement at Secondary-level Public Schools in slum Areas of Lahore

Abstract
Menstruation has begun in adult women, chemical changes occurred physically and girls reached puberty during this period is called menarche. It is a common biological process in all women worldwide. Cultural values, norms, and social practices are connected with the menstrual cycle of girls. In Pakistan there are many religious practices are attached to the menstruation cycle. Women are prohibited from, specific types of religious practices as they will not offer prayers, and can't read the Quran in Pakistan. Many studies performed on girls' menstruation and hygiene practices. Health facilities related to menstruation are insufficient. The literature review suggested that there is a need to pay attention to girls' menstrual hygiene management in schools. (Zobia, Sommer, & Bhatti, 2016).
