Abstract
The present study was conducted to find out the perception of fathers about their own
state of fatherhood, how they construct their role as being father. The purpose of the
present study was to explore Pakistanis fathers' perceptions about parental roles in the
family, and how they define the new role of father. Fathers were interviewed about
their beliefs regarding fatherhood, the roles of fathers and in the family, and fathers'
involvement in their children's lives. 15 fathers interviewed who had been married for
two years, 7 of these father's wives were employed, and 8 of these father's wives were
housewives. The purposive sampling method used to take sample. This study used a
qualitative methodology.
