Abstract
Breakfast is vital and the very first mealtime of the day, after a notable pause of around 8 hours of
sleep at night. Literature depicted that skipping breakfast has been associated with decreased
cognitive performance, energy levels, memory, attention, concentration and overall health of
children. The main aim of this study was to assess the association of breakfast skipping with social
behavior, academic behavior, emotional behavior and cognitive performance among school
children of age about 7-14 years. A cross sectional survey was conducted and data were collected
from 200 participants via structured questionnaires (skipping breakfast questions, Mini-Mental
State Examination MMSE and Social, Academic and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener -
SAEBRS).
