Abstract
In this study, pure Zinc Oxide and a series (1, 3, 5, 7 & 9%) Mn-doped ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized by following hydrothermal route. Above synthesized nanoparticles were studied under sunlight in the presence of Methylene blue dye. UV-Visible spectra revealed that 5% Mn-doped ZnO nanoparticles showed better degradation as compared to other nanoparticles. Sulphur doped graphitic carbon nitride was also prepared by using combustion method. From 5% Mn-doped ZnO nanoparticles a series (5, 10, 15 & 20 wt %) of nanocomposites were synthesized. Photocatalytic activity of these nanocomposites were monitored with S-doped g-C3N4, 5% Mn-doped ZnO nanoparticles under UV irradiations. Results showed that 15% nanocomposite exhibits maximum degradation in minimum time in the presence of sunlight. Characterization was done by using different experimental techniques like FTIR, SEM, TEM, XRD, UV-Visible spectrophotometer and tauc plots.
