AWARENESS OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE AMONG MEDICAL ANDNON-MEDICAL STUDENTS

Abstract
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a major cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide, and its prevention and management depend largely on public awareness. Medical students are expected to have a better understanding of CVD than non-medical students, little is known about the comparative level of awareness between these two groups. This study aims to compare the awareness of CVD among medical and non-medical students to identify the gaps in knowledge. This cross-sectional study was conducted among 200 students, aged between 18-23 years; where 40.8% were male and 60.2% were female.
