dc.description.abstractKnowledge management has a vital association with Information Technology application and project performance with in Construction/Infrastructure Industry in Pakistan as project performance and Information Technology application is majorly mediated by knowledge management by theory of Davenport referred to as ‘Knowledge Based View’ which is reckoned as widely accepted definition "Knowledge management is the process of capturing, distributing, and effectively using knowledge". This research study is based on investigating the performance of projects of Lahore in the construction industry. This study had two objectives among which the first was to examine the effect of IT application on the project performance, and it is concluded that both variables are positively associated with each other and improves the outcome of the project which leads to the project success. The second objective of this study was to assess the role of knowledge management practices in context of information technology tools’ application and project performance. Moreover, analysis suggests that the utilization of information technology application in the construction projects with the role of knowledge management as mediator are positively associated with each other and increase project performance. Furthermore, the study also suggests that the knowledge management techniques’ adoption directly influences the outcome of IT tools on project performance in terms of cost, plan, quality and safety.
