Cardiovascular disorders are the leading cause of mortality and morbidity in Pakistan. Our study is based on finding the prevalence of major risk factors causing CVDs in 300 pediatric patients (0–12 years). Questionnaire-based quantitative data was collected from three different hospitals in Lahore: Children Hospital, Combined Military Hospital (CMH), and Ittefaq Hospital Trust, Lahore. The majority of cases of CVDs were found in infants (112 cases), and risk factors like hypertension (79%), diabetes (88%), and cousin marriages (76%) showed higher prevalence rates. In the future, there is a need to check this prevalence rate practically and also screen out the genes which are causing CVDs so that scientists can further develop advanced techniques to diagnose and treat the disease to reduce the imminence of CVDs in children. The high prevalence of cardiovascular disease in children requires more investigation to identify the root cause of the problem and devise effective preventative interventions.
